On March 9th Deadline revealed that there’s a possibility that the most successful 2010 movie “The Man from Nowhere” or “Ajeossi” (아저씨) will be remade on Hollywood version.

Deadline also mention that  Shawn Christensen (script writer from Abduction) who will be in-charge on this project under Dimension Films. He will adapt the original script for American. On same day, CJ Entertainment who hold the license confirmed that they sold the licensing to Dimension, but they haven’t decided to be involved this remake as co-producer or not, there will be more further information from US.

And i’m curious about who will fill in the Won Bin’s role? It would be hard decision for Dimension. Because i think Won Bin is irreplaceable for this movie. through “The Man From Nowhere” he made a very big hit. Won Bin gained  more popularity on 2010 (until now), his role as Tae Sik-ajeossi was a phenomenon. On this thriller movie that full of actions and blood,  i warn you, in this movie Won Bin was too hot. So, may i have exclusive request??? please keeps Won Bin for Hollywood version!!! i’m begging here…

On December 8, recent movie from Gong Yoo and Im So Jung, “Looking for Kim Jong Wook”” (김종욱 찾기), was officially released. I’m glad to see Gong Yoo again on the big screen.
On the first day, this movie gained good response and sat on the second place of Korean Box Office. This is the Gong Yoo’s first movie after returning from military service.

In this movie, Kim Jong Wook isn’t Gong Yoo’s role. He played as the finding-first-love-agent who helps Im So jung to find her first love, Kim Jong Wook. This is a romantic comedy movie, and I guess Gong Yoo is an expert for that.

“Petty Romance” (쩨쩨한 로맨스) advanced the schedule, the movie that was supposed to be release on Dec.9th, was finally released on December 1st. That’s good, the sooner the better, i guess.

The response was good. “Petty Romance” was very successful on its first show, and sat on the first place box office, despite the quite heavy rival which also was released on the same day: Jang Dong Gun’s Hollywood movie “Warriors Way”.
“Petty Romance” is a romantic comedy movie about an adult-comic writer (played by Lee Sun Gyun) and a sex (fake) columnist (played by Choi Kang Hee). This wasn’t the first time they worked together. They had been paired in drama “My Sweet Seoul”(2008).

Jang Dong Gun Hollywood movie, “Warrior’s Way” was released in South Korea on Dec.1st . The movie is gaining a good attention from Korean public. So far this movie is quite successful. On the first day, this movie able on second place of the box office movie. In the first place is “Petty Romance” (which released on the same day) a comedy romantic movie starring Choi Kang Hee and Lee Sun Gyun.
In America, “Warrior’s Way” official released on Dec.3rd. In this movie, Jang dong Gun appears as warrior who adventured on western or from which I see, he look like Asian cowboy (cowboy with sword ??? ). In additional Jang Dong Gun, this movie also starring Geoffrey Rush and Kate Bosworth.

"Ghost" Asian remake

Without a full consciousness that i was seeing two great Asian stars, Song Seung Heon and Nanako Matsushima, the picture just instantly reminded me of the old “Ghost”. Then I seek for some old images and look what I found:  a very similar concept and gestures…just the clothes style are different, well, that’s what they call as “west” and “east”.

Lee Seon Gyun & Choi Kang Hee

“Petty Romance” was holding the premiere event and press confrence tonight at Seoul Lotte Cinema. Both its stars, Choi Kang Hee and Lee Seon Gyun were present. Ms. Choi’s outfit was catching my attention. That jacket…oough, where did she get that? She looked so cool with in style, though I thought the maroon long skirt was a bit too long. Make it 3/4 maybe would be perfect

Generally both Choi Kang Hee and Lee Seon Gyun looked casual. And yes, I’m sure they both have tried to present a matching style. They both look cool .

Year 2010 does belong to Won Bin! Through “The Man From Nowhere” he got a lot of awards. The latest one was from the 8th South Korean Movie Award (November 18th) where he received an award as the best actor. Won Bin knew exactly what to do in his career. His popularity never dimmed, though he rarely appeared on the small screen.

However, to be honest actually I really miss watching him on small the screen.

This great Hallyu Star just came back home today after promoting his latest Hollywood movie “Warrior’s Way”. Leaving Korea last November 14th, Jang Dong Gun’s schedule was packed with interviews and promotions. He drew so many attention from US local to international media.

“Warrior’s Way” has been a hot topic since probably early this year. Jang Dong Gun goes to Hollywood…well, heck that’s big! In this movie he plays along with Danny Houston, Kate Bosworth, and Geoffrey Rush. His character will be Yang, a warrior who is forced to hide in a small town in American badland.

This movie will be released on December 2nd in South Korea and December 3rd in US. Written and directed by Sngmoo Lee and produced by Barry Osborne, this movie is expected to be huge and successful. Well, really hope it is!

So our everhandsome newly dad, Jang Dong Gun, is spreading his wings to the west…to the Mecca of Entertainment industry. Hope the best for him always. He’ll probably be the next Asian star shining in Hollywood and the globe, just like Bruce Lee, Choi Yun Fat, Jacky Chan, Jet Lee,and Ken Watanabe.
