Baker King Kim Tak GU – Korean Drama Choa https://kdramachoa.com Liking Korean Drama, Music, and Movie Tue, 22 Nov 2011 17:16:05 +0000 en-US hourly 1 Joo Won’s Tender Heart https://kdramachoa.com/joo-wons-tender-heart/ https://kdramachoa.com/joo-wons-tender-heart/#respond Tue, 22 Nov 2011 17:09:42 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=15411

Joo Won’s name has been recently a talk in town and among netizen because his face has been around again through his currently airing drama “Ojakgyo Brothers” and very recent movie with Uhm Tae Woong, “Special Investigation Unit“.

In an interview with Newsen just very recently, they asked him about the reason of his cry around a year ago when Yoon Shi Yoon received an award for his role as Kim Tak Gu in “Baker King Kim Tak Gu“, Joo Won just said “That’s the fact (the cry)” with smile and laughter. He said there’s no words could explain that moment. He said that during the filming of his debut drama, “Baker King Kim Tak Gu” he was there together with Yoon Shi Yoon trying their best with hard work. He also knew very well how hard it was for Yoon Shi Yoon to bear a responsibility as the leading character and seemed to become one with the character itself, Kim Tak Gu. So crying is the ultimate expression of his whole emotion that couldn’t be replaced by any words.

So even though he said he never really cry (before), Joo Won is a 25 years old man with a tender heart. Even though he has gained a fame, he’s still just a young man who loves being himself like singing along with music he listens to and other things.

Well, some say he sings better than acts. Joo Won does have a good voice anyway :)

Furthermore, Joo Won said that he learned so much about life from his grandfather. His grandfather was a very generous man who could give scholarships to students he didn’t know or to give money to the needy. His grandfather said that he should have that kind of live, too, being generous. His grandfather thought him how to give without expecting any rewards in life and how to be able to care more to other people.

Bottom line is, this sexy guy has a good and honest heart. Good thing he had a good grandfather. How can we not fall for him?  :left:  ;)

From KBS Drama 2010 Awards https://kdramachoa.com/from-kbs-drama-award/ https://kdramachoa.com/from-kbs-drama-award/#respond Sat, 01 Jan 2011 08:45:28 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=5378 Just like SBS and MBC, KBS also held their Drama Award yesterday, December 31st. Many stars were brightly shining that night at the event. “SungKyunKwan Scandal” and “Baker King, Kim Tak Gu” seemed to dominate the award. Well that’s no wonder.  “SungKyunKwan Scandal” had been creating a new histeria among the fans with their famous quartet. While “Baker King, Kim Tak Gu” had touched so many hearts around Korea with its deep meaning story and memorable characters.

Stars at the red carpet.

The host of the event were: Choi Soo Jong, Lee Da Hae, and Song Jung Gi.

One of the most favourite award presenters: Lee Min Ho (even my mom said “that young man looks so handsome”) and the cute Kim So Eun.

Jang Hyeok won the ultimate Award of this Year for his role in “Chuno”.

Teary speech of Moon Geun Yeong who won Most Popular Actress and Best Female where she shared it with senior actress JeongIn Hwa who played as Gu Ma Jun’s mom in “Baker King, Kim Tak Gu.”

Jang Geun Seok, along with the couple from “SungKyunKwan Scandal” Park Yoo Chon and Park Min Yeong as the most popular among netizens.  He also won the best couple with Moon Geun Yeong for their role in “Marry Me, Mary!”. Despite the lame story and low rating, they both are still very popular. “The Geun-Geun” collaboration.

Kim Gap Su won the Best Actor Award for his role in “Cinderella’s Sister” and “SungKyunKwan Scandal”. I like this old man’s acting. Look at how Moon Geun Yeong looked so proud of him.

Park Min Yeong was definitely shining last night. She won about three awards: Best couple with Park Yoo Chon, Netizen, and Excellent Actress.  Her character as Kim Yun Shik/Hee has made her very popular.

Park Yoo Chon was also winning many awards: Best Couple, Netizen, and Best New Comer Actor.

JYJ performance singing the “SungKyunKwan Scandal” original soundtrack. I love their performance. The audience sang along with them.

Han Eun Jeong got the award for her role in “Child Gumiho”.

Song Jung Gi won the Most Popular Actor for his role as Gu Yeong Ha in “SungKyunKwan Scandal”.

And Yoon Shi Yoon, our phenomenal Kim Tak Gu, brought two awards home last night. Among many teary speeches, his speech when he won The Excellent Actor Award for miniserie category was my favourite because he even made Joo Won shed some tears. I guess they both had become two best friends thanks to the drama.

For The Best Writer Award went to Kang Eun Gyeong, the writer of “Baker King, Kim Tak Gu.” I think she really deserved it. Among other KBS 2010 dramas, this drama was the best in story line. Even though there’s still some cliches, the story was developed in a very interesting way and inspired so many people.

Most Memorable of 2010 Drama https://kdramachoa.com/most-memorable-of-2010-drama/ https://kdramachoa.com/most-memorable-of-2010-drama/#respond Fri, 31 Dec 2010 18:36:11 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=5319 For all the feast, the cheers, the fireworks, and the cold nights…HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!

2010 had been a memorable year for me because I started this blog ;) . Dramas and movies have been giving a big influence in my life because basically I love stories and writing is more than just a hobby for me…I can say that writing IS my life. Korean drama in particular has been my number 1 TV entertainment ever since I was still an innocent girl :p . But I have to admit that “Cinderella’s Sister” was my turning point for two reasons: 1. Moon Geun Yeong’s character, Gu Eun Jo, touched my heart in a complicated way (that I found hard to explain) just like my favourite antagonist-female-leading characters: the ambitious Scarlett O’Hara from the classic “Gone with the Wind” (by Margaret Mitchell) and the avengious Lu Yi Ping from “Yan Yu Meng Meng” or “Romance in the Rain” (by Qiong Yao). 2. This drama was aired during the “complicated” moment of my life. I just came home and watched “Cinderella’s Sister” and a thought just popped up in my head: “Why don’t I start writing something about Korean drama? Why don’t I start it with “Cinderella’s Sister” ?” So I called my bestfriends, asked them to help me, then I sat in front of my laptop and started writing.

Therefore, “Cinderella’s Sister”, despite my disappointment of the drama in the end, is my most memorable drama of 2010.

Gu Eun Jo was memorable because of her strong character and just as the explanation I said earlier.

However, besides “Cinderella’s Sister”, I had some other “Memorable” categories from 2010 dramas:

1. Favourite Come Back: actress Chae Rim in “Oh! My Lady”

I always like Chae Rim ever since “All About Eve.” Though this drama reminded me so much of her 2007’s “Dalja’s Spring”, I just love her come back as Yoo Kae Hwa. It could be Kang Ji Hwan in “Coffee House”, but I like Chae Rim more :p

2. Favourite Gang: the quartet in “SungKyunKwan Scandal”

I really love this drama, the famous quartet are definitely my favourite gang! Better than “Boys Before Flower”. My biggest regret was of course because I didn’t manage to write about it. All the cute nicknames, the love triangle, the unforgetable Gu Yeong Ha, the secret missions, the JYJ’s soundtrack….everything!

3. Favourite Buzzwords: “Na Bu Tae Hee yah Bu Tae Hee..!” [so sorry for Gu Yeong Ha… ;)]

4. Most Amusing Drama(s): I can’t decide between “Secret Agent Miss Oh” and “Secret Garden”

These two dramas never failed to make me laugh…as simple as that.

5. Disturbingly Most Favourite Male Character: Kim Joo Won from “Secret Garden”

I thought it was gonna be Han Do Hoon, but Kim Joo Won character is really…really…I’m speechless

6. Most Lovable Small Screen Actor: Lee Seung Gi

7. Most Lovable Small Screen Actress: Moon Geun Yeong

8. The “Whoaa” Drama: “Baker King, Kim Tak Gu”

I wasn’t interested at all in this drama at first, but it turned out to be quite interesting. However, what made me made a “whoaa” of this drama was its rating that hit 50% something! That’s very much something considering the tough competition in Korean drama industry.

9. The Most Played Drama OST:

I think it should be Cinderella’s Sister’s “The Calling Out”. I dunno why, I just love to listen to it.

10. The Most Disappointing Drama: “Marry Me, Mary!”

I’m still working on the last three episodes. Sorry for being so late. It’s because I was so reluctant to watch them…but I keep on going, no worry.

“Baker King, Kim Tak Gu” Closing Party https://kdramachoa.com/baker-king-kim-tak-gu-closing-party/ https://kdramachoa.com/baker-king-kim-tak-gu-closing-party/#comments Thu, 14 Oct 2010 15:48:55 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=3169 With such a great a success of hitting 50.8% on its last episode, I think they’re on the right moment to throw a grand closing party. Almost all the stars were  present and I could see they became more like a family rather than  just colleagues. Gaining such a very high rating is just every director’s wish everytime they starts a drama production. Even the writer felt so grateful for his work which at first he had a doubt at. And I bet the whole team is proud of the excellent work of  the young actresses and actors, especially Yoon Shi Yoon ;)

“I will always carry on Kim Tak Gu and his spirits within me, but from now on, what’s left is only me, Yoon Shi Yoon,” this cute guy said in an interview on that event.

Baker King, Kim Tak Gu Episode 30 Summary (Final) https://kdramachoa.com/baker-king-kim-tak-gu-episode-30-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/baker-king-kim-tak-gu-episode-30-summary/#comments Tue, 12 Oct 2010 16:35:24 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=3116 Yeahh, we’re here at last…the final episode of Kim Tak Gu story. When it was aired on KBS2, the rating flew up to 50 something percent! Crazy :o  Then the question would be why people love this drama so much? The great casts must be one of the reasons. They played so wonderful, from the young stars to the seniors…they really did a good job. Next thing must be the story line. At first I wasn’t really interested in this drama because I thought It’d be just like any other cliche story line: power, ambition, love quadrangle, revenge…sort of. Well, yes this drama contain those cliche things, but the director and the writer are such creative people. I think they succeeded to bring something different-but-easy-to-comprehend conflict. The psychological aspect is developed very well and it helps people buy the story. And for me personally, it has a good quality cinematography.

Okay enough on the brief review and let’s just get into it…

Mr. Han made the driver turned back to the office where Secretary Nam had brought Tak Gu there. At first I was as confused as Tak Gu’s expression wondering what the heck did this man intend to do by having Tak Gu awaited him on the roof top? Then we knew that he wished not to die alone…he wanted to bring Tak Gu along.

There’re some fights, but wooops Mr. Han managed to push Tak Gu to edge of the roof…

Jin Gu, who was suspicious seeing Mr. Han was back to the office, came for a rescue. Was it too late?? Tak Gu wasn’t there anymore…he’s been pushed down…but, No! There’s a grunting voice from the edge of the roof. Jin Gu found Tak Gu was hanging one-handed on the edge…”Take my hand, Tak Gu, please trust me!” Jin Gu screamed desperately.

And Tak Gu was saved…thankfully.

The police was coming and it was actually Ma jun who made the report. When the three escorted down from the roof top, Ma jun met them at the lobby. Then surprisingly, Ma jun just passed through the handcuffed Mr. Han to greeted Tak Gu “Are you okay?”. Tak Gu: “Yes, i’m okay.”. Ma jun: “That’s good.” And he said nothing to Mr. Han.

While the scheme happened, at the Gu Mansion, Madame Seo got no mercy from her husband. And her daughter-in-law didn’t make anything better at all.

A very touching moment happened when Ma Jun visited Mr. Han in the prison… He said all these times, he’s been waiting for Mr. Han to change and start doing something good that it’d make Ma jun respect him at end. But unfortunately Mr. Han just never did it.

Madame Seo’s life turned to be a mess and Yu Gyeong just worsen everything. Ma jun witnessed the fight, but Yu gyeong fled somewhere out of his reach within the house. Tak Gu who felt there’s something wrong went upstair and decided to help Madame Seo. He gave her a back-ride.

Senior Gap soo over-heard the conversation between the two Mi suns. He found out that Ms. Yang had fallen for Tak Gu then spread the news to the whole Pal Bong bakery family. I love this scene because it even made the cool Jin Gu smiled a lot. ;)

And just in the right moment, Tak Gu arrived and it surprised everyone hilariously.

Then the idea of setting up the two young people started…I love this scene, they both looked cute.

Mi Sun misunderstood something from the talk, so she decided to go outside. Tak Gu then sat together with her…and talked about his feeling! Omo!! Aigoo…Tak Gu confessed to her that he’s heart then settled. After all these times he’d been having two women in his heart (let’s put aside his mom in this case), then he was finally able to set only one girl. He proposed Yang Mi Sun. :left: :)

On the other side of the city…Yu Gyeong was struggling so hard with her wounded heart. Thankfully her husband came as a real man. Ma jun was no more a jerk. He confessed that his feeling was sincere. He really loved her.

The day of the second board meeting finally came. For the very first time, Tak Gu and Ma jun worked together to set their noonim up as GeoSeong’s chairlady. Tak Gu who never intended to be the chairman of this company tried to convince the board that her sister was more than capable of running the company. Ma jun also had the same opinion. His excuse was he wanted to do travelling while thinking about what he really wanted to do in life.

Oh Goodness…this scene is so lovely!

Eventually, peace touched their father at his sacred sanctuary……

Before parting at the GeoSeong Lobby, Ma jun said to Tak Gu casually, “Actually, I’m not your brother.” You know what, this dialogue pretty much reminded me to one scene in Hollywood hottest serial “Prison Break” (season 4) between Lincold Burrow and his brother Michael Scofield. That time Linc said the same thing to Michael. And surprisingly, Tak Gu’s way of response was also quite similar. He said, “I’ll always be your brother,no matter what.” Tak Gu then added, “As long as the Chairman is around, we’ll always be brothers.”

And everyone started their own new life…

Yu Gyeong and Ma jun started over as husband and wife

Jin Gu smiled a lot for sure and he introduced his sister to Pal Bong bakery family

Ja Gyeong as the GeoSeong Food chairlady

Tak Gu and Mi Sun seemed to work well

Madame Seo ran a lonely life

Pal Bong Bakery finally reopen…and look who’s joining? They had a new member: the ex-loyal-secretary of GeoSeong Food! :D

As for the closing…the beautiful smile of our hero…Baker King, Kim Tak Gu

Well, this is it.

For my personal ending…this is a good drama with good quality of acting from the great casts. I think people learn so much from Tak Gu’s positive personality, Ma jun troubled character and Mr. Pal Bong great wisdom. This drama will surely last very long in everyone’s heart and mind.

Thanks everyone for following. I’ll see you again soon on the next summary… ;)

Baker King, Kim Tak Gu Episode 29 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/baker-king-kim-tak-gu-episode-29-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/baker-king-kim-tak-gu-episode-29-summary/#comments Sun, 10 Oct 2010 05:53:20 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=2974 Wow, I can’t believe we’re reaching one episode before the final. Let’s just get to the point.

The final battle started: the king versus the evil bishop.

Gu Il Jung surprisingly confronted his two big traitors: his wife and Mr. Han. It took 14 years for him to stay quite and cold and let everything just happened right in front of him. Only until he found out about his mother’s death scheme, he started to bark back. Well, better late then never, right?

He said that all these times he knew that the two had something fishy behind his back. He also knew that Han Seung Jae loved his wife. But he never knew that they both were involved in his mother’s death. And just like any other criminals, they both denied it.

Mr. Han left after pushing Dir. Gu down. Ma jun gave him a hand and brought his father back to his room. Madame Seo was unforgiven and left alone. And look who’s smiling in front of her? It’s her own daughter-in-law…Yu Gyeong seemed to enjoy the scene.

Ma jun confessed to his father that he saw the scene, but too afraid to tell him everything. All he was able to do was just knocking on his father’s study room and then fled, and he just bore the traumatic load and wounds all alone this whole time. He asked for forgiveness…

Putting myself in Ma jun’s position, I think I understand his pain. A child could never choose between his father or his mother. So he must have thought that it’d probably better to bear everything himself than seeing his parents fell apart. And the result for such a traumatic episode in a child’s life is a troubled personality. So it’s no wonder if he became a jerk, a vicious person with so much anger and jealousy. And I guess Gu Il Jung understood the matter pretty well. He’s a wise father beneath his cold masquerade.

Tak Gu almost ran out of time for the Cheongsan factory challenge. He asked the Palbong bakery team to help him out in experimenting a new kind of bread. They had been working on it, but there’s still something wrong. Tak Gu was pretty occupied with this matter and the eldest sister noticed that. I guess somehow she’s touched. And yes she was. She reported to her father about the situation at work and about how much Tak Gu represented him as a baker. She then understood why her father trusted him out of his other children.

I like this progress for Ja Gyeong. She gradually showed herself as the noonim, the big sister, of Gu family and GeoSeong Food. She also took side and finally had a courage to speak out about what’s wrong or right of something. She had stopped being indifferent. She’s grown up.

Seeing Madame Seo was rocking and about falling apart, Yu Gyeong didn’t hesitate to take over. She openly said that her mother in-law should give up her title as The Madame of Gu Family and GeoSeong Food. She said then it’s time for her to take over everything, from domestic matter to GeoSeong social life.

Ma jun was not only making a mess with his new marriage life, but also his new position at the office. Seeing Tak Gu had made some progress, Mr. Han told him to start doing something if he wanted them to win the fight. Ma jun just take it indifferently and playing as a jerk.

He prefered drinking and partying and Tak Gu found out about it. Jae Rim told Tak Gu about how Ma jun behaved lately and how he treated Yu Gyeong since their very first night as married couple. Tak Gu, acted as a hyeongnim (big brother), thought he needed to get involved and help his brother out.

In the same moment, Yu Gyeong, alone in her room as always tried to convince herself that it’s okay to continue being vicious. She’s going on with the revenge. She’s in a big pain.

Tak Gu found Ma jun at a night club, almost involved in a fight. He then dragged him out and brought him to Pal bong Bakery’s kitchen. Ohh it’s a very touching. Both men acted like brothers for the first time. Tak Gu acted as a good hyeongnim whose responsibility is to tell his brother that he’d done wrong things, then he needed to change because he’s married and he just needed to start acting like a grown up.

Tak Gu showed Ma jun their third exam’s theme written by the late Mr. Pal Bong. “The world’s happiest bread.” Tak Gu said it’s their responsibility, together, to carry on Mr. Pal bong’s last will. Ma jun had known the concept behind that theme, broke down cried. They both cried…though Ma jun cried harder that it reminded me of his cry on Mr. Pal Bong’s funeral day…it’s a heart-breaking cry…

After they both got a hold on themselves, Ma jun asked Tak Gu why he was still able to smile, to be cheerful, despite his hard life. Why Tak Gu never hate him after all the things Ma jun had done to him: the father issue, the lost of a mother, and the Pal Bong matter…and above all, he’d stolen Yu Gyeong. I thought what Ma jun really wanted to ask was “How could you be so strong???”

And I just love Tak Gu’s simple answer (which I think was very inspiring and memorable) : “Because I have to live.”

He continued, “It’s not that I don’t know pain. Life IS about happy moments and hard moments. But when you have the happy moment, that’s not the end of the world. And it goes the same with when you have the hard moment. No matter what happen life goes on and we have to endure every situation to continue living our lives.”

A simple but realistic explanation. From Tak Gu I learn that life is a gift that we need to hold until tomorrow will not come again. It’s never be an option since the very first creation, it’s just given from Heaven. But how we live our lives is an option. To be happy or to be in pain are two options that every living human can choose to run his/her life.

A very good message. ;)

So the sibbling matters had fixed up. It’s turn for the work issue. The directors who first refused Tak Gu’s successful rice bread eventually changed their mind. So the leader gave him a chance to produce and distribute it to market for a week. If it’s successful, the Cheongsan factory issue will be cleared up.

And as we have guessed, the hero always wins the battle as the end.

Watching Tak Gu’s success, Mr. Han started to be push the alert button. He asked Madame Seo to act fast as well. But unfortunately for him, Madame Seo was having a heart-break and finally got exhausted of her own game. Madame Seo then told him she never love other people, but Gu Il Jung only. Her old promise to Mr. Han was a big lie. And now it’s Mr. Han’s turn to be heart-broken.

So the disappointed Mr. Han decided to work alone and finished the game.

Mr. Han set Jin Gu up when he was about to steal Mr. Han’s accounting book. He caught Jin Gu and beat him up. Since Jin Gu didn’t get the books from his saving box, he thought they’re safe. But he’s wrong. The books had already gone. and just as he stepped out of his room, the situation turned up side down.

His men was knocked out by Jin Gu and other Dir. Gu’s men. Mr. Han was then escorted to the Chairman’s room: and voilla! Dir. Gu was there.

Gu Il Jung then gave him two options: to turn himself in to the police or take a ticket and get out of the country for good.

Mr. Han took the second option, but what everybody didn’t know was…Tak Gu had been taken away somewhere. I guess this was Mr. Han’s grand back-up plan. He’s gonna do something evil to Tak Gu.

However, we need to wait until the next episode to find out what’s Mr. Han gonna do with Tak Gu…

Ohh, I can’t believe this drama is ending… T_T . One more episode to go everyone! ;)

Baker King, Kim Tak Gu Episode 28 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/baker-king-kim-tak-gu-episode-28-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/baker-king-kim-tak-gu-episode-28-summary/#comments Wed, 06 Oct 2010 23:21:28 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=2856 First of all, I’d like to say sorry for misspelling Cheongsan factory with Cheongnam all these time. Hehe, I didn’t realize it. :p

With three more episodes to go…this episode is a must seen ever! I call it the revelation episode. The evils show their horns, the wounded angels took off their masks and the victims took a real action to fight for justice.

Tak Gu ran after his mother. For him, loosing his mom once again was a big NO. So, it’s a matter of save the mother or die… Jin Gu took Kim Mi Sun into bushes area where a tractor block their way. Jin Gu let Kim Mi Sun fled. Tak Gu, acted like a puppy that lost its mother, kept screaming “Mother…mother…” while running after his mom. The big guys was after him.

Unfortunately, the big guys caught Kim Mi Sun first. When Tak Gu finally got closer to the mobs, he surely got beaten…but then he said. “You either beat me to death or let me get my mother. We’ve been separated for 14 years without knowing anything about each other. Whether she’s dead or alive, I kept searching. If you are a son, you’ll understand how I feel. So beat me to death or let me go to my mother.”

For most people, it might sound cheesy that the big bad guys finally decided to let Tak Gu get to his mom…We could even see some of the men drop tears. But I guess that’s very acceptable in Korea. Korean people take family matter very seriously. and they have a sensitive feeling under their rough behavior…so, Korean viewers could buy the idea, but some foreign viewers might wrinkled their forehead and said, “What?? Are you kidding me? Their mobs, they’re not suppose to have a soft heart!”

Well, the reunion was quite romantic…but thankfully they didn’t over do it.

And look who’s finally got redemption for the soul…Jin Gu hyeongnim.

It’s scored 0-1, nil for Madame Seo. She couldn’t stop the wedding, but no way of attending it. So all she could do was just wait for everyone to come home and made a pity of herself.

And for our newly wed……..Ma jun was a real JERK! X|  He asked Yu Gyeong about the hesitation she made before the vow and he could sense that “Tak Gu” had to be the reason. I was surprised when Ma jun decided to tell her everything, the secret behind the bracelet matter, to his wife.

So then he left Yu Gyeong alone on their first night as husband and wife. He spent the night with other women!!! Rrrggghhh. I hate that it’s leading this way. I almost believed that Ma jun really loved Yu Gyeong. But this guy was a real loser!

Tak Gu brought his mother to the Yang House and of course the whole family accepted them cheerfully and warmly, especially Yang Mi sun. But for me, as might also be for Yang Mi sun, the most touching scene was when Mi sun called the mother and son for lunch, she found them sleeping with their hands holding to each other.

Moving the scene to the Gu Mansion………OMO! Wasn’t that Gu Il Jung??? So, he had woken up all these times? :o

Yes it was Dir. Gu. He’d woken up, but his condition wasn’t yet good. After making a phone call, on his way back to his bed, he fell. Thankfully Ja Kyung was the one who found him.

Then that Gu Il Jung’s eldest child, who I thought had smelled something fishy recently, asked for an explanation from  her sick father. I thought she could be a big help for Tak Gu if she’d known the truth.

The next morning, Madame Seo went to the newly wed hotel. She summoned both of them, but Yu Gyeong woke up all by herself. And just in the right moment when they’re sitting in the restaurant, Ma jun passed by holding another woman. I couldn’t say what I’d feel if I were Yu Gyeong. I mean…on the first night??! He really needed a big slap on the face.

Anyway, the reason why Madame Seo came was to summoned the newly wed to live in the Gu Mansion. For a wealthy Korean family, living separately was not a likely option.

With his mother back in his hands again, Tak Gu’s fighting spirit was surely up. He confronted Mr. Han at the office, but of course the living devil denied it.

Meanwhile, the condition in Cheongsan factory was awful. It’s getting dirtier. Tak Gu was having a hard time. And he got the big sister scolded him about the lousy work. But then Tak Gu asked her for a help to guide and show him how the right way to be a good leader was.

Then it’s time for Yu Gyeong to confront Ma jun….oh, I loved this one. Yu Gyeong, the sweet and innocent-look wounded girl had turn out to be…a really dangerous woman. She’s giving a really hard “slap” on Ma jun’s face with her confession.

She told him the real reason why she chose Ma jun out of Tak Gu to be her husband. She said seeing Ma jun was like seeing her own reflection. They both were wounded people and only both of them who could understand each other’s pain. So she took the challenge and everything she need to pay for her revenge. She said “let’s continue it all till the very end. I don’t know who’s gonna get hurt the most, but just let’s go with it.”

And when Yu Gyeong said that actually she had had a dream that she might have a happy marriage life with Ma jun, the man was obviously didn’t see that coming:

While Yu Gyeong-Ma jun’s marriage life was a mess from the beginning, Tak Gu was in his happy moments showered by the love of two MiSuns. However, I got more confused about Tak Gu’s feeling to Yang Mi Sun… :?

The family dinner for Gu family that night was a nightmare for Madame Seo. Yu Gyeong lifted up the incident on that rainy night 14 years ago when the Dir. Gu’s mother passed  away. Madame Seo was panic like crazy.

She summoned Mr. Han to talk about this matter. And Mr. Han was planning to do something evil with Yu Gyeong. But just the right moment when he turned his body ready to go upstair to confront Yu Gyeong, he made this terrifying look:

And surprisingly, Madame Seo also looked so shocked:

Voilla! They both saw this:

Gu Il Jung then approached the two vicious couple and got furious. Could you imagine finding out your wife and your right-hand man were the ones whom all these times stabbing you from the back and killed your innocent mother?! Gu Il Jung really on the right place to be furious and cursing.

But what the three didn’t know was…….Ma jun was just out side the room, witnessing it all. Poor him. :?

Two more episodes to ending, so I think the drama won’t get any less interesting. In fact, it’s gonna be more and more interesting. I guess lots of shocking revelations and confessions will come ahead of us all on the next two episode…I really expect a wonderful ending. ;)

Baker King, Kim Tak Gu Episode 27 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/baker-king-kim-tak-gu-episode-27-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/baker-king-kim-tak-gu-episode-27-summary/#comments Sat, 02 Oct 2010 06:40:21 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=2724 Mother came first before Yu Gyeong for Tak Gu, while Ma jun was just the exact opposite way. I guess that’s what this episode all about. And we’re having a wedding here… ;)

When Tak Gu arrived at the hospital, it was too late. Hyungnim Jin Gu had taken her away. Tak Gu searched for his mom around the hospital, but came up with no good result. The doctor then told Tak Gu a brief story about his mother’s life for the last 14 years.

Meanwhile at the wedding dress fitting…Yu Gyeong confronted Mr. Shin and then emotionally said that the man wasn’t his father. The way Yu gyeong reacted to this issue was quite shocking for everyone. And when she went back to the fitting roo, she couldn’t get a hold on herself then passed out.

Mr. Shin’s life was probably a bit better then years ago, but this troubled man was just troubled in any way. He was a public enemy among other employees since he often borrowed money and never paid them back. He would’ve been almost beaten to death if only Tak Gu hadn’t been there. Tak Gu then talked some senses with this old man. Tak Gu said he’s not helping him because he liked him. It’s all because of the fact that he was Yu Gyeong’s father and the only family Yu Gyeong had. He also asked him to let Yu Gyeong happy and acted like the real father for her for once in his life.

Ma jun stayed with Yu Gyeong the whole night. He didn’t say the commonly positive consoling words. He said that a father like the one she had should be thrown away. He said that from then on, they should throw away everything that had given them misery. He asked her to marry him in a more sincere proposal….and Yu Gyeong approved it. The two were gonna have a simple private wedding just by the weekend.

However, for me it’s still hard to read Yu Gyeong’s real feeling for Ma jun. I daoubted that she had fallen for him. If there might be a feeling, i think it’s more of a sympathy and empathy…not love.

On the other side of the city under the same night sky…Yang Mi Sun suddenly found Tak Gu was sleeping in his room. Mi sun asked why he’s there. Tak Gu said he’s just so tired and needed some rest.

On this side of love conflict, I really feel sorry for Mi Sun that she hadn’t gotten any proper reply from Tak Gu. I think the problem was Tak Gu didn’t realize that Mi sun loved him not as a big brother like he always thought…So I guess someone need to slap him on the face and spit it out on behalf of Mi Sun  :p

However, seeing from Tak Gu’s point of view…it’s accepted that he didn’t have any time to think about romance. He’s so busy with the board’s challenge, asking update from dr. Yoon about his mother whereabout…and dealing with the evil inside man, Mr. Han.

I love the way Tak Gu confronted Mr. Han about the fishy business of Chongnam factory issue. This time Tak Gu faced him with a head up and a higher tone of voice. Tak Gu said that his position was higher than Mr. Han and he knew exactly what he could do with such a very high level. So Mr. Han was kicked out by both the father and the son.

After an all night contemplation, Mr. Shin decided to talk to Ma jun to say that he’s not Yu Gyeong’s real father. He said they should live happily. And he also returned Mr. Han’s money thorugh Ma jun. Ha ha, gotcha Mr. Han! Yu Gyeong who overheard and saw everything approached Mr. Shin on the wat out. She asked why. Mr. Shin said it’s because of what Tak Gu had said to him.

Yu Gyeong finally told Tak Gu about her up coming wedding by the weekend. Eventhough Tak Gu looked shock, he still wished her a happy life. Yu Gyeong thanked her for everything…

And unlike with Ma jun, with Tak Gu, Yu Gyeong often be the first to give a hug. I was more confident that the only man Yu Gyeong had in her heart was always Tak Gu.

The wedding day! Yu Gyeong came first to the church with her simple wedding dress. From the look on her eyes…I could see doubt. She was thinking about something…probably about the regret she’s gonna have in the near future. But the wedding proceed.

When the reverend asked Ma jun about accepting Yu Gyeong as his wife, Ma jun said “yes I do” without a sigh of hesitation. But when it came to Yu Gyeong’s turn….it took a very deep thinking and waiting until she finally answered “Yes I do.”

Not many people attend the wedding. The sisters, Mr. Han and the two secretary fellas. Tak Gu was actully about to go there too, but he suddenly got a report about his mother whereabout.

Mr. Han forced Kim Mi Sun to sell her Geo Song’s shares to him. Kim Mi Sun ripped off the papers. The angry Mr. Han then commanded his men to dismissed her. Jin Gu took the job. And just the moment Jin Gu took her out of the house, Tak Gu arrived and saw her mom was taken away. Jin Gu just drove her away and Tak Gu ran himself after them…screaming: “Mother! Mother! Mother!”

Will the two get a success for a reunion? Yes they will. I don’t think the story would turn into such a crap as letting the mother and son separated for good without any single chance to embrace one another again. But will it be on the next episode? Let’s just see… ;)

Baker King, Kim Tak Gu Episode 26 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/baker-king-kim-tak-gu-episode-26-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/baker-king-kim-tak-gu-episode-26-summary/#comments Wed, 29 Sep 2010 16:20:18 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=2669 This episode shows viewers another quality of our hero, Tak Gu, which is managing a big company. As a so-called uneducated person, he’s quite bright. Well, he’s doing the Tak Gu’s way and it worked, and I think that’s enough for people to buy the story. ;)

Tak Gu didn’t start the board meeting well. He acted clumsy and that made the Family side took over the first presentation. And when it finally turned to Tak Gu, I thought he’s gonna bring out some charts or maybe just speech, but he did make a surprise. He brought out fresh breads for the board members to eat. When the board members thought the breads were the company’s, Tak Gu said he made it in the morning. So our baker king kind of showing his real ability…which is making breads. I think thata’s a brilliant idea of presentation, so the result was good. Tak Gu left a good impression on the board members.

and Tak Gu was as close as inches to his long lost mother when he asked a sick lady in front of the lift lobby. i hated it that the script writer/director had to do such a cliche “just-so-close-but-not-yet” scene. I mean…all they needed was Kim Mi Sun to turn her head just a little. Rrggh…what a drama :?

Anyway, I loved this particular scene where Ma jun stood in his cool-interior-designed room in front of that colorful wall. Aside from the language confusion written there…I guess that’s a pretty cool idea.

Okay, let’s back to the story…So, while Tak Gu was busy dealing with company business, Ma jun got to deal more with his personal one. Madame Seo had no idea how far his son could go with his plan on marrying Yu Gyeong. When she confronted Ma jun at his office, his son had no choice but to use his powerful weapon: the story about how he found the bracelet in that rainy night years ago.

Madame Seo knew nothing about the word “to lose” the game. She approved the wedding, but never seemed to let Yu Gyeong live happily as her daughter-in law. She made Yu Gyeong kneeled to give her and advance sight about what kind of life she’s gonna have. What a vicious woman.

Even though Tak Gu got a good impression from most of the board executives, he had to work out on a challenge before they acknowledge him as the temporary Chairman of GeoSong Food. And the challenge was to produce a new product in Chongnam factory. For Tak Gu, that’s going to be back to hometown.

The challenge was quite hard since the factory was so close to be closed down. So Tak Gu had alot to think about…but just in the very least  expectation, he found Yu Gyeong’s dad working as a security at the factory.

Kim Mi sun got really sick. Either she’s too happy to see Tak Gu or she’s just too weak to handle all the heavy loaded surprising situation, I didn’t know. But one thing for sure, she felt terribly ashamed of herself. For the last 14 years, her mind was full of revenge. She thought she became vicious. While Tak Gu, the reason behind her vengeance, (she thought) had been living more than fine and had become a very kind heart person.

And just like his mom who was in struggle with herself, Tak Gu was too. Ma jun told him about the marriage and he had to deal with his own feeling. I bet it hurt so bad, but Tak Gu didn’t give the kind of so-broken-hearted reaction that Ma jun might expected. Instead, Tak Gu was very calm facing receiving this news.

Maybe it’s because of the job or could be for another reason. I guess without really realizing  his own feeling, he had let Yu Gyeong go not so long after finding out that Ma jun and her were actually seeing each other. He loved both of them and want them to be happy with or wothout him and that seemed to be enough for Tak Gu.

He definitely had no time to be so sentimental about that marriage issue. He smelled something fishy about the Chongnam factory,so he asked for the Palbong team a favour. Mr. In Mok, the senior Gap Soo and Jae Bok pretended to be three jobless men that needed a job. They became Tak Gu’s hand, eyes, and ears to investigate what’s hidden beneath the surface. And they found out that someone had manipulated the report about the ingredients quality. The factory was a real mess.

The risk of having your ex as your sister-in-law-to-be is the big possibility to see her and your brother making out or expressing love in other kinds of ways that actually could bring jealousy. And everything seemed to be awkward for Tak Gu, but soon he managed to handle it.

The Family, of course minus Director Gu, had just had a fight during dinner because the “I’m marrying Yu Gyeong soon” topic lifted up on the surface and ruined everything. the eldest sister was the first to leave the dining table. She just couldn’t take it why neither her mom nor her brother was thinking about the sick father. They’re planning the marriage before the father gain consciousness? So when the eldest sister saw Tak Gu’s sincere devotion to their father…I think she’s somehow envy…more than be touched.

In the morning, Tak Gu ran into Mr. Han and Mr. Shin in front of the Chongnam factory. He smelled something bad was going to happen and that had to be related to Yu Gyeong’s marriage plan. Tak Gu then rushed back to Seoul office but found Yu Gyeong wasn’t there. She was actually did the dress-fitting with Ma jun and Madame Seo in an exclusive boutique. So Mr. Han’s plan with Mr. Shin was obvious: to embarrass Yu Gyeong in front of Ma jun.

Meanwhile, at the hospital Kim Mi sun got an uninvited guest, Jin Gu. It was actually a reunion, but with a very gloomy history between the two. With the wheelchair he got in his hands, I guess he’s planning on taking Kim Mi sun into a hiding.

And when Tak Gu was just about to leave the office, he met doctor Yoon who delivered him a more surprising news. His mom was alive.
