“Empress Ki” is airing today (October 28th) on MBC. The stills of characters also the teaser video are already published, and now i just want to post the main posters featuring the three characters, Empress Ki (Ha Ji Won), King Chunghye (Joo Jin Mo), and Soonje (Ji Chang Wook)

Ha Ji Won as Empress Ki shows her elegance in the magnificence costumes. Reportedly, during the photoshoot, Ha Ji Won was overwhelmed with those costumes, but eventually she could handle it. She becomes so gorgeous and elegant.

Actually sageuk  that is based on real history is not my favorite at all, because the ending is always tragic. I hope “Empress Ki” will run lightly, so i put my trust on the creative writers, Jang Yeong Chul and Jung Kyung Soon. I loved their works on “Giant” and “History of Salaryman”.

Starting this week, “Empress Ki” (기황후) shows off the teaser parade. Besides publishing the stills of the lead actors, Ha Ji Won, Joo Jin Mo, and Ji Chang Wook , the 30 second video teaser is also revealed.

The video looks so epic that shows the main character with their emotions, the action scenes, and also reveals the triangle love between them.

Through “Empress Ki,” Ha Ji Won is required to do action scene, like riding the horse, using the sword or bow-arrow, but don’t worry those things are a piece of cake for Ha Ji Won. We have no doubt with her martial art ability and her physical acting, she is no.1 actress for that kind of stuff.

Meanwhile, as the warrior-who-turned-to be-King of Goryeo, Joo Jin Mo looks charismatic on these teasers. Then our pretty boy, Ji Chang Wook as the abandoned crown prince looks so adorable and naive.

Actually with these teasers “Empress Ki” becomes so tempting to be watched, but for me, sageuk with 50 episode and based on history is so hard to be digested, at least i’ll try…

“Empress Ki” is ready for airing in MBC for replacing Monday-Tuesday drama “Jung Yi, The Goddess of Fire” starts on October 28.

After “Empress Ki” secured the casts, the first reading session was held on mid September at MBC Dream Center, Ilsan. The reading session went for about four hours.

The whole casts attended the event: Ha Ji Won, Joo Jin Mo, Ji Chang Wook, Jung Woong In, Kim Seo Hyung, Kim Yeong Ho, Lee Moon Sik, Jin Yi Han, Choi Moo Suk, Kim Jung Hyun, and many more. From the pictures, we can see that they all looked serious reading the script and were very into their characters.

“Empress Ki” will start airing on MBC on October 21st.

On September 10th, reportedly that Ji Chang Wook will be a younger husband for Ha Ji Won in the up-coming drama “Empress Ki.” Ji Chang Wook was chosen to portray Yuan Emperor, Soon Je (Togon Temur) the last emperor of Yuan Dynasty.

Based on the history, after his younger brother became emperor due to political intrigue, the young Soon Je was exiled to Goryeo. But after his brother died, he was back on the throne. He’s married to a Goryeo woman, who was older than him, but he chose that woman as the Empress, she is Empress Ki.

In this drama, Ji Chang Wook will ‘compete’ with  his political enemy Joo Jin Mo, who plays as Goryeo King, King Chung Hye, who is also the love interest of Empress Ki (Ha Ji Won).

“Empress Ki” has begun filming. This drama will be replacing “Jung Yi, Goddess of Fire” on October.

MBC’s up-coming historical drama “Hwatu” announced the permanent working title: “Empress Ki” (기황후).  This drama is based on the history of a Goryeo (ancient Korea) woman who became an empress for Yuan dynasty, she’s known as the Empress Ki. Her character will be played by Ha Ji Won.

This drama will take MBC’s Monday-Tuesday prime drama slot after “Goddess of Fire.”
