The most anticipated up-coming teenage drama from SBS “To The Beautiful You” (아름다운 그대에게) released more posters.

The first poster just appeared with seven leading roles, f(x)’s Sulli, Minho (Shinee), Lee Hyun Woo, Kim Ji Won, Kang Ha Neul, and Kwanghee (ZE-A). The gang look so bright. They were just wearing the casual outfits, and due to her role as girl in disguise, Sulli has to wear the boy’s outfit. She looks so cute here, just like a kid. And too bad i don’t like Lee Hyun Woo in this poster, because he looks so weird with all those accessories, the hair cut, and that posed. o_0

The second poster, actually not to different from previous poster. This poster also shows the league of the boys from this athletic school, they look so cute wearing the uniforms.

In this drama, Minho plays as Kang Tae Joon, gold medal athlete for high jump, very talented athlete but cold as a person. Meanwhile Sulli plays as Goo Jae Hee the clumsy new comer at school. She’s actually a girl in disguise. But  the fans have to wait longer for their acting since this drama will start running after London Olympic game ended on August 15th.

The Up-Coming Idols Drama “To The Beautiful You” https://kdramachoa.com/the-up-coming-idols-drama-to-the-beautiful-you/ https://kdramachoa.com/the-up-coming-idols-drama-to-the-beautiful-you/#comments Sun, 29 Jul 2012 05:35:59 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=24101

After “Dream High” and “Dream High 2”, more idols drama produced, for this August on SBS there will be “To The Beautiful You” that starred by idols, such as, f(x)’s Sulli, and Shinee’s Minho.

“To The Beautiful You” is based on the most popular manga title “Hana Kimi”.  “Hana Kimi” has been produced on Dorama (twice) and Taiwanese drama, and those version were very successful. For Korean remake, beside Min Ho and Sulli also starred by Kang Kyung Joon, Lee Hyun Woo, Seo Jun Yeong, and more.

This drama tells about the girl in disguise (played by Sulli), she dresses like a boy to enter the boys school athletic, and  forced to make friends with 21 other guys, it’s not easy for her.

for this boyish role, absolutely Sulli has to cut her beautiful long hair, following her soenbae-deul, Yoon Eun Hye, and Park Shin Hye. Not only full of the flower boys, this drama also full of the cuteness because i think the whole  main casts are so cute  Sulli, Minho, Lee Hyun Woo, still have baby fat on their cheeks, so i hope with their baby faces, this Korean version will be success as previous versions, or more.

Actually this drama was ready to start running on August 8th, but has to be postponed due to London Olympic broadcast until August 15th following-up “Ghost”.

The Equator Man Episode 4 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-4-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-4-summary/#respond Sun, 01 Apr 2012 12:54:48 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=20294 The adult actors are coming in on The Equator Man episode 4. I think the casting was excellent, they could find actors that quite look a like, so the connection between the youth version and the grown up version of the characters are smooth, especially between Shi Wan and Lee Joon Hyeok.

After throwing Seon Woo to the sea, Jang Il went a bit out of his mind. He was panic, between unbelieving his own crime and the lost of his only best friend. He burned the petition and then fled back to Seoul.

Meanwhile Soo Mi was looking for Seon Woo that day. She waited outside his house until dark, but the landlady finally told her that Seon Woo had not back yet since he’s out in the morning. Soo Mi sensed there’s something wrong with Seon Woo and it was indeed. For Soo Mi and the other friends, Seon Woo just went missing.

Seon Woo survived. He was stranded on the nearby beach, but his condition was so bad. No one found him there until a couple of days.

Meanwhile in Seoul, Jang Il’s life turned a bit a mess. He always got nervous and turned himself into alcohol. He went out with seniors to drink until he got drunk, and then went for another round of soju in the street bar. In the same street vendor, there was actually Han Ji Won eating ramyon, but Jang Il didn’t notice that. And he heard a news in the radio that a police found a body on the beach without any ID. He remembered Seon Woo and suddenly had an upset stomach and he went out to throw up. Ji Won couldn’t pretend she didn’t know Jang Il, so she helped him sober up by splashing water to his face.

Jang Il sober up and asked Ji Won how she got there. She told him he was too drunk and better go home. Jang Il asked Ji Won to accompany him sober up for awhile, but he fell asleep. When he woke up, Ji Won had gone. She just left him her scarf around his neck.

The police finally found Seon Woo’s body. He was still alive, but his condition was critical. He was dying. The police called Soo Mi’s father and Jang Il’s father. Soo Mi’s father worried that Jang Il’s father might kill Seon Woo, but Soo Mi convinced him that Seon Woo was in ICU and had so many people watched him.

Jang Il received the news from his father. The father said that Seon Woo might not survive the night, so Seon Woo had nothing to worry  about. Jang Il got the panic attack again that he even thought the security guard knocking his door was the police. The security handed him the package Seon Woo sent for him before, but it went to the wrong apartment so Jang Il received it late. But Jang Il never opened it. In trembling for fear, Jang Il said, “Seon Woo, let me get everything I wanted but live forever under the guilt of keeling you. Isn’t it enough, Seon Woo?”

Jang Il’s father knew what happened to Seon Woo was his son’s crime. He told Mr.Jin about not to worry about the petition and Seon Woo’s condition, but he pretended not knowing anything about Seon Woo’s accident.

But like Soo Mi’s father said that Kim Seon Woo was not an ordinary kid, he did survive the night and more days after that. Time went by long after that, but Seon Woo was still in his deep sleep. In his dream, he was in his father’s workshop having a nice bbq. Mr.Kim said he’s a man with a small dream. His dream was only to live happily with Seon Woo and later with his wife and children. While Seon Woo said his dream was much bigger than that. He wanted to travel the world, but the last place should be the equator. The weather could be crazy in equator countries, and Seon Woo thought it pretty much represented his character. Seon Woo was very thankful that his father adopted him when he was 9. He was very happy that Mr.Kim was his father.

But then his father suddenly disappeared, only his voice remained telling Seon Woo not to come along  with him and to just go back. The grown up Seon Woo on the sick bed finally got consciousness.

And the grown up Jang Il immediately received the news.

Soo Mi and her father were the only two people very loyal to Seon Woo. They kept coming to the hospital to take care of him. And as soon as Seon Woo gained his consciousness again, Soo Mi and his father were very happy and were there to welcome back him. But Seon Woo seemed not to remember either of them, or just ignored them. All he said was only “father..father…”

Meanwhile, the lives of both wealthy men Mr.Jin and Mr.Moon were getting more prosperous. Mr.Jin’s business was exapnding and he started to look for more information about Moon Tae Joo after hearing from his colleague that this man from Busan has been a talk among business men because he’s been successful in coal mining business. Unlike Mr.Jin who wished Seon Woo to never wake up again, Moon Tae Joo finally decided to search for his long lost son.

Seon Woo got an attack when his memory was back to Jang Il, about what his best friend had done to him. But it was unclear if he really forgot the incident or he decided to just really forget it. He also seemed to forget that his father had died, because when Soo Mi asked him if he remembered her, he said, “Yeah, Soo Mi…you’re very good at painting.” But then he said,”would you tell my father not to come here late?” Then Soo Mi asked him what actually happened to him that day on his accident, Seon Woo just said he didn’t know and told her to go home because it’s late, earlier Soo Mi told him it’s 12 o’clock. But Soo Mi told him it’s 12 pm, not 12am. Seon Woo said the room was still dark and asked her to turn on the light. Then both of them found out that Seon Woo had a problem with his eyesight.

Jang Il finally decided to come down to the hospital to check on Seon Woo. Soo Mi met him first, telling him that Seon Woo might not remember him.

Hearing the explanation from the doctor that his retina was badly damage because of the hard hit to the back of his head, Seon Woo’s eyes couldn’t not send information to his brain of the things he saw. In other words, he’s going blind. And Seon Woo couldn’t except that fact. He went panic and screaming and running here and there in the hospital, telling everyone to turn on all lights and to call the doctor.

Jang Il was already in the corridor, watching what Seon Woo was going through. He just stood there too shock to say anything, even when Seon Woo just walked pass him.

But then to his surprise, Seon Woo suddenly grabbed him, thinking that he was a doctor.

I have to admit the young actors did their job excellently. Both Lee Hyun Woo and Si Wan really express each character’s deep emotion convincingly. As for our beloved ajeossi, Uhm Tae Woong, it’s actually quite surprising that he had to start the second scene as Kim Seon Woo in such emotion-draining acting. Too bad this drama is competing with Rooftop Prince and The King 2 Hearts. If only it came earlier, it could get higher rating.

The Equator Man Episode 3 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/equator-man-episode-3-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/equator-man-episode-3-summary/#respond Sat, 31 Mar 2012 13:00:48 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=20255 The Equator Man episode 3 still tells the story during Seon Woo and Jang Il’s youth. In the end of previous episode, Seon Woo was ordered by the bad guys to find this man named Jun Taek and killed him. Since they threatened him to ruin Jang Il’s life if Seon Woo refused or failed the mission, he did go to the mob’s place, but threw away the small sword before going. As a real kick ass kid, Seon Woo fought with those men alone, and ended up badly beaten and locked up in a stranded container for a couple of days. In the same time, Jang Il was starting his new and prosperous life in Seoul, ready for his university orientation.

Mr.Choi, Soo Mi’s father, was trying to blackmailed Jang Il’s father and asked for about 50 million won. But he kept scraping one letter to another.

Soo Mi’s mood seemed to never be up again. She got upset of the hair stylish for giving her lousy curls and decided to go to Seoul to have her hair re-do. Surprisingly, her seat was right next to Jang Il’s. They both in silence the whole journey. Arriving at Seoul Station, Soo Mi’s got snatched and she lost her wallet. She asked Jang Il to lend her some money, but Jang il misunderstood her. He thought Soo Mi just planned the whole thing from the beginning and refused to lend her some money. Jang Il’s words were very insulting that Soo Mi said, “You will regret what you’ve done to me in the future.” Then in a very cold way, Jang Il replied, “Yeah, i’ll regret it later.” Soo Mi called her father to pick her up.

At home, Soo Mi was resting on their living room when she found her father’s black mail plan. She demanded her father to tell the truth and Mr.Choi had no choice but to share his story to his daughter. Soo Mi made her father promise not to tell anyone about it until his death bed.

The bad guys thought Seon Woo was dead, or at least dying. They put him in a corpse bag, but Seon Woo managed to flee. The bad guys tried to catch him again, but Seon Woo jumped off the bridge to the top of a running train. What a kid!

In Seoul, in the university, Jang Il got the same class with Han Ji Won even though they’re different department. The lecturer was speaking about photographic memory. Han Ji Won was late when her name was called, but she just went to the front and answer the question about “what do you know about photographic memory?”

Ji Won told her own experience the night she met Seon Woo. She said from that moment, she pictured that young man’s face in her mind and that’s her photographic memory. Ji Won said that young man was her type. Then the lecturer asked for another volunteer. Jang Il raised his hand and went to the front. It’s his turn to tell the class about the moment she fell for the girl who played the guitar singing his favorite song. If I had been the lecturer, I would have told them that they had not really answer my question. Come on…photographic memory, please, not your first love story.

Anyway, after the class, Jang Il approached Ji Won and told her that the girl in his story was him. He also asked her out to have dinner together, but Ji Won refused him telling that she had 3 part time jobs that she had no time for such an activity. Jang Il was a bit confused why a wealthy girl had to work that hard. She said because she needed the money. From that moment, Jang Il never push her, but approach her in a gentle way like giving her fruits and drink when he saw her in the canteen.

Back in the south, Seon Woo got some info from his friend that the police was actually suspicious about his father’s death but something made them stop digging further. And the friend also told him that a taxi driver who drove Seon Woo’s dad the day before he died told that the man went to Mr.Jin’s new residence to play card.

Seon Woo visited the construction site, knowing it’s Jang Il’s father’s work place. He asked him if he or the other workers saw his father around the place that day. Jang Il’s dad said no. Then on his way back, Seon Woo saw Mr.Jin’s picture and realized that Mr.Jin was one of the men in his father’s old picture.

Arriving at home, a phone rang. It’s from Tae Joo. That man looked shock when Seon Woo told him that his father, Kyeong Phil was already dead.

After finishing his university orientation, Jang Il went back to his hometown. The first person he visited was his best friend. Seon Woo said he’s going to work in a furniture factory next week. Jang Il persuaded him to forget about working and started studying with him in Seoul. He would support Seon Woo. But Seon Woo refused.

Seon Woo told Jang Il that he would send a petition to the police to make a further investigation of his father’s death. He said he’s going to ask Mr.Jin for help because he thought his father knew Mr. Jin and that wealthy man had many networks. Jang Il supported his idea. he even bought Seon Woo a nice suit and introduce Seon Woo to Mr.Jin. But that evil man said the picture was like other dozens of picture he always took with his workers, so he didn’t really remember his father.

Knowing that Seon Woo would send a petition to the police and Jang Il supported him, Mr. Jin was furious to Mr.Lee threatened him with Jang Il’s future and ordered him to make sure Seon Woo would never send the petition to the police. Unfortunately, Jang Il was right behind the door and heard all that conversation. He was in shock.

He came to Seon Woo’s place asking him to forget about his father’s death and go with to Seoul with him. The conversation ended up as an argument that Seon Woo thought Jang Il was out of mind and being non-supportive. Going back home, Jang Il made sure to his father that Seon Woo would never send the petition to the police tomorrow. Finally Jang Il’s dad knew that his son knew his sin and would even cover it for him, even though the victim was his own best friend’s father.

The next day, Seon Woo was ready to go to the police, but he visited his dad’s last place for awhile. Jang Il went there too. He kept trying to persuade Seon Woo not to send the petition and just leave everything behind and go  to Seoul with him. He even knelt before him. Jang Il’s insistence made Seon Woo suspicious if he knew something about his father’s death. Jang Il said he was responsible for his father’s death. Seon Woo then said, “If my father because of you, I would forgive you as a human. But that doesn’t stop me from finding out the way he died. Even if it wasn’t my father, but you who died, I would do the same thing. Because for me, the most important thing in life is the people that I love.”

Then Jang Il was really out of his mind. He hit the back of Seon Woo’s head twice. At first he was about to just left Seon Woo there on the cliff, but then he changed his mind. He dragged Seon Woo’s body and threw it off to the water. Jang Il killed his own best friend in life and he, himself, was in a great agony.

The Equator Man Episode 2 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-2-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-2-summary/#comments Sat, 24 Mar 2012 06:44:01 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=19950 The Equator Man episode 2 still tells what happened to Jang Il and Seon Woo’s lives in 15 years earlier. Last episode’s ending was Seon Woo found his father’s body hung on the tree.

Jang Il’s father was in the middle of his work in President Jin as usual. He was looking for his master when accidently saw President Jin killed Seun Woo’s father. He came in and check on the dead man. President Jin threaten Jang Il’s father using Jang Il’s future on the line. Jang Il’s father then made Seon Woo’s father looked like he’s dead from a suicide attempt. He even wrote the fake farewell letter.
Seon Woo’s father was actually still alive when Jang Il’s father was about to hang him, but we never knew what really happened in that moment. Worse thing for Seon Woo was that the police confirmed his father’s death as suicide.

At home, Jang Il’s dining table suddenly served a nice dish. His father even told him that Jang Il could go to good university in Seoul under the economic support from President Jin. Meanwhile Seon Woo was still mourning alone for his father’s death. Seon Woo still didn’t go to school and the school was having an event where students were performing and parents came. There Jang Il was enchanted by Han Ji Won, where she performed “Moon River” beautifully, singing and playing guitar.

Jang Il and his father was invited to President Jin’s house for the scholarship. There he met Han Ji Won again, who’s also about to meet President Jin. Then he met Soo Mi in the pharmacy. Jang Il finally said sorry for not coming on their date appointment.

Soo Mi’s father was a shaman and since he was the friend of Seon Woo’s father and Seon Woo was the friend of Soo Mi, he offered to help Seon Woo performing a ritual to find out what really happen to Seon Woo’s father. He did the ritual and suddenly Soo Mi’s father was possesed by Seon Woo’s dead father spirit. He’s showing the last moment of Seon Woo’s father and even said that the one who suffocate him to death was near. That time Jang Il’s father was there, but as soon as he realized the familiar scene, he left. Jang Il saw his father left. In the end of his possesion, Soo Mi’s father cried “I’m sorry that I can’t fulfil our promise.”

However, the truth was revealed in the flashback. Mr.Choi was almost making out with a lady in that woods when the lady rejected him. He drank soju and fell asleep. When he woke up, he recognized Seon Woo’s father on the ground. He witnessed the whole scene, but since it was dark and he didn’t really know Jang Il’s father, he remembered Jang Il’s dad’s wounded arm. So the shaman performance was only a fake, it’s his way to tell Seon Woo what really happened.

After pouring his father’s ashes to the sea, Seon Woo reread his father’s last letter. He recognized something wasn’t right. His father’s typing machine couldn’t make a perfect typing for the letters, while the last letter showed perfect letters. Seon Woo hurriedly came to Jang Il’s house to tell him his finding. Jang Il’s father was so nervous about it that on the next day he broke into Seon Woo’s house to steal back the letter he wrote. But Seon Woo caught him there. Jang Il’s father’s excuse was because he worried about Seon Woo and decided to cook for him.

President Jin ordered his man to find all information about Kim Kyeong Phil (Seon Woo’s dad) and his son. Meanwhile in the capital city, a man received a letter from Kim Yeong Phil. This business man’ name is Moon Tae Joo. Apparently, Seon Woo’s father himself wasn’t really sure whether Seon Woo was Jin No shik’s son or Moon Tae Joo’s son, because in the letter to Tae Joo, he asked the question.

Jang Il read the news in the newspaper that Han Ji Won, President Han’s daughter, was accepted in Korea University. Jang Il was happy that he would go to the same university with her.

At home, Seon Woo was looking for the letter, which he realized had gone. But when he was searching here and there, he found a photograph hidden in the drawer. The picture showed his father with two other men: President Jin and President Moon.

Jang Il’s father was celebrating Jang Il’s acceptance to Korea University in his restaurant. Soo Mi’s father was eating there with his friend when he recognized the scar in Jang Il’s father’s arm and realized he’s the murder. The worse was when he found out that Seon Woo and Jang Il were best friends. Jang Il made a promise to Seon Woo that as soon as he became a prosecutor, he would help Seon Woo to reveal the truth about his father’s death. Mr.choi and and Mr.Lee heard that all. Mr.Choi was frustrated about the truth he knew.

Seon Woo was on his way back home alone when some people kidnapped him. The bad guy wanted Seon Woo to kill someone, otherwise they’re going to ruin Jang Il and his father’s life.
