Ahh Sun Woo-Jang Il fate is decided here and somehow I had sensed it that the ending would be bitter between these two guys.

After screaming out at Mr.Jin’s house, Jang Il went to Sun Woo’s office telling him about his father’s death. Sun Woo’s response was cold saying that he felt the same way too 15 years ago. “You’re just like your father, your biological father. You and your father are the same evil!” said Jang Il.

Later that night, Sun Woo was drinking with Ji Won. He said it’s a good day. He finally accomplished his revenge: Mr.Jin was out of business, Mr.Lee died, Jang Il lost his job, and Soo Mi’s paintings were ruined. However, Sun Woo admitted that it didn’t feel as good as he thought. In fact, he felt so bad… Ji Won asked him what Jang Il was talking about earlier, about his biological father. Sun Woo just said that he had no idea. And then he just cried on Ji Won’s lap.

Jang Il somehow knew that no matter how cold Sun Woo had become, he would eventually came to pay respect to his father. Jang Il even left a note on the glass where his father’s ash was stored telling Sun Woo to pick up something at the receptionist. Jang Il left him a letter. It’s a farewell letter…”Sun Woo, you were my very best friend, yet you become the person I hate the most in this world. I’m sorry that I killed you back then, but don’t forgive me. I’m gonna end this all tragedy for good.”

Jang Il went to Thailand as he was asked by Mr.Jin. But he didn’t come to work for him, instead to kill him by his own hand and then killed himself after that. Sun Woo came right in time and he prevent Jang Il shooting Mr.Jin. Jang Il instead, pointing the gun towards Jang Il, but suddenly he’s pointing it towards his own head. With his quick move, Sun Woo managed to tackled Jang Il but the shot got Mr.Jin on his arm. Sun Woo firing all the gun loads to the air.

He took Mr.Jin for medical help. Mr.Jin asked why he was doing it. “Because you’re hurt,” said Sun Woo flat. “Kim Sun Woo-ssi. Sun Woo-ya,” called Mr.Jin. The last words made Sun Woo stopped his step. “Are you my son?” asked Mr.Jin. “No, I am not your son,” said Sun Woo.

Sun Woo came down to check on Jang Il in his place. At first Jang Il said Sun Woo should’ve let him kill Mr.Jin because he’s helping him avenging his father’s death. “Where do you hide him?” asked Jang Il. “I will find him anyway, I’m the Prosecutor Lee Jang Il.” Then Sun Woo was telling him to  go back to Seoul with him tomorrow, but Jang Il told him to be quite. “I’m talking to my father now, so shut up.” Sun Woo noticed that Jang Il had lost his mind.

Soo Mi was walking with Mr.Choi who was still on the wheelchair when Geum Jool came and informed her about Jang Il being hospitalized in mental hospital. Soo Mi visited him and unlike Jang Il’s reception for her all these whole years, that day, Jang Il was being so nice to her.

After being officially left by his wife and Yoon Joo, the authorities came to arrest Mr.Jin for his crime on business: embezzlement and bribery.

Jang Il’s mind was kind of messed up between the past and the present. That night when Sun Woo visited him, in his mind, they’re still in high school. He asked if Sun Woo was making trouble again fighting with some thugs. Then they both studied as if Jang Il was helping Sun Woo doing his home work just like the old days. Then suddenly Jang Il said, “Sun Woo, tell your father not to go to Mr.Jin’s house.” Sun Woo asked why. “I don’t know, I can’t remember, but I don’t think it’s gonna be good.” Sun Woo said that he’s father wouldn’t ever go to Mr.Jin’s house so Jang Il had nothing to worry about. “I’m sorry. I think I put you in a trouble, but I couldn’t remember.”

In the prison, Mr.Jin received a letter from Mr.Moon. Along with the letter was his paternity test result saying that Sun Woo was really his son. “Be a good father to Sun Woo from now,” said Mr.Moon.

When Sun Woo visited Jang Il again, Jang Il’s memories had come back. “Thank you for forgiving me. I remember everything now,” he told Sun Woo. “I had been you. If I had gone through what you had, I wouldn’t have been able to forgive me.” Sun Woo said he had forgiven Jang Il and was sorry for hurting him too. Then Jang Il asked Sun Woo to that place: where their tragedy started, their hometown.

Jang Il enjoyed the fresh air of their hometown. Then he asked Sun Woo to bring him there…to the ill fated cliff. “I want to pay my respect and apologize to your father,” Jang Il said. Being on that cliff again, Jang Il’s mind was here and there again, switching past and present times. “Sun Woo, since that day, I could never smile whole-heartedly again nor I could sleep well at night,” said Jang Il. Sun Woo just said, “I know. Let it go know.” Then Jang Il saw the teenage Sun Woo and asked if he would ever forgive him. The teenage Sun Woo said he already had. And Sun Woo also saw the teenaged Jang Il asking for forgiveness to him. Sun Woo said he already had. I literally was crying watching this scene… T-T

So these two best friends had finished their issue and forgive each other from the bottom of their heart. “I’m sorry Sun Woo,” said Jang Il again. Sun Woo said they should forget it and just get out of the cliff. They’re on their way leaving, Jang Il even said that they’re eating on his treat after from this place. But then he suddenly stopped and looked back while Sun Woo was just keep walking. Jang Il saw the scene when he hit Sun Woo’s head and threw him off the cliff. So he might know that Sun Woo had forgiven him whole-heartedly, but deep down in his heart, Jang Il could never forgive himself. Sun Woo suddenly heard something got into the water. And when he turned around, Jang Il was no where behind him. He knew Jang Il jumped off the cliff.

In the water, Jang Il could finally have a big sincerely smile. Sun Woo jumped off the water too to take Jang Il out…but he couldn’t reach him and he got his eyesight problem again. Later the doctor told him that his lost of eyesight this time wasn’t because of the cornea displacement, but more of psychological and stress. He may or may not be able to see again.

Ji Won said that no matter what happen to his eyesight she would always stayed beside him. “You’re always the same person to me,” she said. Then Sun Woo was going to tell her, I think it was actually about Mr.Jin, but he hesitated and told her another thing instead. “I sent the bucket flowers,” confessed Sun Woo. Ji Won said she had guessed as well as hoped it was him.

Sun Woo visited Mr.Jin in the prison. At first Mr.Jin didn’t notice Sun Woo had gone blind again and thought he came visiting him just to see how bad his condition was. Until Sun Woo reached his had when Mr.Jin was about to leave the table. He realized Sun Woo couldn’t see. He took off Sun Woo’s glasses, hugged him and cried. On that moment, Sun Woo slowly got back his eyesight again, though they’re still blurry.

Sun Woo finally told Ji Won that Mr.Jin was his biological father and he knew it’d be hard for Ji Won to accept it because of what happened to her late father. “I couldn’t leave him alone like we really had nothing to do with each other. I actually hate him now, bu in the same time, I felt sorry for him in my heart,” said Sun Woo. As he expected it, Ji Won hard to take that reality. She said she needed time to think about everything, and then left.

Sun Woo decided to leave again. He left another farewell letter to Ji Won again. “I never thought I would write this kind of letter again,” he said in the opening part. He said this time it would be very hard for both of them, especially for Ji Won. He understood that Ji Won couldn’t leave him, but neither could be happy if she stayed by his side. “So I’m the one who’s leaving. This time, I won’t ask you to wait for me. Neither I will wait for you.”

Soo Mi ran an ordinary life with her father, though she’s still be an artist. Mr.Choi had to stay on the wheelchair. She asked her father why everything didn’t go as we planned in life. Mr.Choi said because that’s how life works. People couldn’t pick up the day they’re born nor the day they die or how they die. “But you become the artist like you’ve always wanted. You still have to be grateful for that.” This small conversation between Soo Mi and her father was very meaningful.

Ji Won lived her life in Seoul without Sun Woo. She worked at the blind school again, and everything kept reminding her of Sun Woo. Meanwhile Sun Woo went back to the equator and lived a humble solitude life in a remote area. Ji Won finally came to Thailand to find Sun Woo.

At first when she arrived at Sun Woo’s place, Sun Woo wasn’t there, so Ji Won decided to just leave. They actually split ways in the airport. Then Sun Woo came back to his place. And Ji Won did too. “You didn’t wait for me, did you?” asked Ji Won. “No I didn’t,” said Sun Woo. “So I should just go now.” “That’s right,” responded Sun Woo. Ji Won had already turned around. “But can you really go?” asked Sun Wo. “I can’t,” said Ji Won. “Then don’t go. This time stay with me forever. I love you.”

They embraced each other. Then they kissed and kissed again. And on each kiss, Tae Woong seemed like eating Ji Won, too passionately :D Poor our Ji Sung if he had to watch this…

If you think this drama has a happy end, I have to disagree. Even though at the very end, Sun Woo was together again with Ji Won, it’s not actually a happy ending indicator for this drama. For me with Ji Won came to find him eventually was actually one thing that’s certain in Sun Woo’s life. He had lost his own revenge. Instead of getting all he wanted, he lost them all. He had blood in his hands too with Mr.Lee’s death. He also lost Jang Il in front of his very own eyes…sadly it’s all after he ruined Jang Il’s life. And he had to accept the fact that he’s the evil guy’s son, the person who ruined everyone’s life including the life of the woman he loved. So Ji Won’s presence is the only good thing in his life, the symbol of hope that in a very harsh life, there’ll still be a small precious thing to be grateful about.

However, I hate that I have to criticized detail in this episode! Ahh, I couldn’t stand Tae Woong’s switch hair style within seconds. They were supposed to do something with it first, at least to have Uhm Tae Woong changed the color of his hair into dark brown again before shooting if they couldn’t do much with his current hair style. And somehow, I felt like the script was in rush in some part, trying so hard to match the old shooting and the current one but still I think they failed to match them smoothly. Not only the script, the scenes were too. Ahhh…they should’ve done better! Thankfully they have great story that it still made me cry in the saddest part of this episode.

Thanks for those who always come by this drama summary. I’ll probably see you on Gak Si Tal? I’ll definitely give it a try since Joo Won  was on it. :D Ohh what a great continuation of 2D1N members on TV dramas…

The Equator Man Episode 19 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-19-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-19-summary/#comments Sat, 26 May 2012 12:46:29 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=22608 As this drama is reaching the finale, The Equator Man is getting bitter for everyone, especially for Sun Woo. He was still confused by the fact that Mr.Jin was his biological father. He asked Mr.Moon why Mr.Jin didn’t raise him and why his mother’s family experienced a bankruptcy. Mr.Moon told him that Jin thought Eun Hye was having his (Tae Joo) child, so he ruined everyone’s life: taking Eun Hye’s father’s mother and framed Kyung Phil and Tae Joo that made them be put behind bars for years. Sun Woo said knowing Mr.Jin as his biological father was no longer mean anything for him and he would continue on his plan to ruin the life of the man who had abandoned his mother, killed his father 15 years ago, and ruined Ji Won’s family businesss.

Mr.Jin was already falling but Sun Woo didn’t even think to give him a little pity. He bought some of the shares in the company group and had his team building allies so that on the board meeting he would be able to kick Jin No Shik. Sun Woo was stealing Mr.Jin’s precious resort in Thailand.

During Sun Woo’s meeting at the office, Geum Jool came and told him about Mr.Lee tried to hung himself and now in a coma at the hospital. Geum Jool asked him to forgive Mr.Lee, but Sun Woo’s respond was very cold. Even Ji Won’s words didn’t work for him. After everyone had left, Sun Woo had another visitor, Yoon Joo’s mother. She asked about why Sun Woo was in Eun Hye’s graveyard. He told her that he just came there on the behalf of someone who loved her. And then Mrs.Jin sounded like she was going into Sun Woo’s side on the impeachment of Mr.Jin from the CEO position in the board meeting.

Jang Il was in the hospital with his coma father when Joon Ho summoned him to come to the DA office for interrogation of murder attempt of Kim Sun Woo. Jang Il of course consistent on his lies that he denied hitting Sun Woo’s head from behind and throwing him off the cliff in their hometown. Joon Ho brought Sun Woo in to confirmed Jang Il’s lies, but Sun Woo said Jang Il had no reason to try to kill him. But Joon Ho thought Sun Woo’s words sounded fishy, so he decided to summon Choi Soo Mi too.

There the three of (ex)childhood friends sat together in the interrogation room. Joon Ho asked if the paintings were the scenes of the real event with Sun Woo as the victim and Jang Il was the real bad guy. Soo Mi kept on her scenario that both boys were just her models. But Sun Woo said he was never be Soo Mi’s model and what she said was all lie.

Sun Woo told Joon Ho that the paintings were Soo Mi’s way to blackmailed Jang Il, because she had a crush on him since long time ago, for a big secret: it was actually Jang Il’s father who tried to kill him on that cliff. So Sun Woo put all the blames on Mr.Lee and Mr.Jin that both men were involved in his father’s murder and Mr.Lee tried to kill him to prevent him submitting the petition to the police that day. Joon Ho asked why Sun Woo didn’t tell him from the beginning. Sun Woo said he thought Mr.Lee would apologize to him and enjoyed seeing Mr.Lee to live in lies. Jang Il went furious and grabbed Sun Woo’s collar. But Sun Woo released himself and told Joon Ho that he wanted to stop the interrogation right there since he had told him the truth now.

Both Jang Il and Soo Mi seemed not to be grateful of Sun Woo’s saving them from the prosecution. Even Jang Il went furious instead of saying thanks. Apparently it’s Sun Woo’s way to punish Jang Il to spend the rest of his live in regret of selling out his own father. “If you don’t like it just go back upstairs and tell them the truth!” said Sun Woo. He knew Jang Il would never do that. “Hey, I haven’t heard you’re saying thanks to me?” he said when Jang Il was leaving.

This whole punishing Jang Il and Soo Mi things didn’t actually made him happy at all. Instead, it put him into a bad stress that his eyesight was having problem again while he was driving back from the DA office.

On the board meeting, Sun Woo who had made a deal with Mrs.Jin finally succeeded to kick out Jin No Shik from his position as the CEO. Mr.Jin had to witness his own friends turning his back on him and the worst of all, his own wife as well raised her hand in the voting. Before he was leaving the meeting room, Sun Woo said to Mr.Jin that he’s still thinking what the most precious thing for Mr.Jin was.

Although he told Geum Jool and Ji Won that he had no time to visit Jang Il’s father that night, Sun Woo eventually came down the hospital. Jang Il came and thought Sun Woo would kill his father in his coma. “Why would I do that?” said Sun Woo, “In fact I wanted him to wake up and receive his punishment before the law for his crime.”

Sun Woo’s words provoke Jang Il and Jang Il was about to hit him, but the much stronger Sun Woo grabbed and lifted him instead. Sun Woo threw Jang Il to his father’s bed. “Tell him to get up now!” screamed Sun Woo out before he was leaving. It affected his eyesight again.

Ji Won was calling him but Sun Woo but because of his eyes’ problem Sun Woo was late picking it up. Ji Won was kidnapped by some men and she was kept in a warehouse. Sun Woo and his friend noticed Ji Won went missing that night and they thought Jin was behind this. And they’re right. Mr.Jin took Han Ji Won as the trade for his resort.

Sun Woo demanded Mr.Jin to tell him where Ji Won was, but Mr.Jin refused to do it unless he gave him back the resort. Sun Woo was furious but remembering Mr.Moon’s words telling him that Mr.Jin was his biological father, Sun Woo just retrieved and express his anger to Jin’s furniture instead.

Mr.Moon finally decided to show up before his old arch villain. He just straight forwardly told Jin No Sik that Sun Woo was his son. “I loved Eun Hye, but I never slept with her. Sun Woo was your son,” said Mr.Moon.

And Jang Il came to Mr.Jin in the right time. He overheard Mr.Moon’s conversation.

“So you killed Kim Kyung Phil because of your biological son and you put my father’s life like hell,” said Jang Il. “If my father died, i’ll ruin your life as well.”

Sun Woo could rescue Ji Won. He got the information after beating and threatening Mr.Jin’s secretary, but he told Ji Won it was Yoon Joo who told him the location.

Soo Mi burnt the paintings right in front of Sun Woo. “Why would I sell them to you?” mocked Soo Mi. Sun Woo just laughed and ask her to have a drink together. And to Soo Mi’s surprise, while she was taking the drink, Sun Woo ruined all her precious paintings with his small knife. Sun Woo tore them all very calmly and whistling casually…he was scary here.

Soo Mi tried to stop him, but Sun Woo just pushed her on the face and threw the knife. He just left without saying anything, kept whistling.

Jang Il father finally died. “Father, where are you going? Do you go to the place where Uncle Kyung Phil is? If you see him, just beg for forgiveness. If he beats you, just take it. I’ll pay for the rest of the sin.”

Jang Il went crazy. He came to Mr.Jin’s house to express his anger towards that man. “You killed my father!” he screamed and struggled while Mr.Jin’s men caught him tight. But Mr.Jin who had just finished his meeting discussing his Thailand resort, just calmly offer him to go work with him in Thailand. Jang Il just cried and screamed like crazy.

And the scene was cut because of a broadcasting error.

Watching this drama, especially the last 2 episodes was suffocating. The reality was too harsh for everyone. And all of this tragedy was just because of Jin No Sik’s misunderstanding on Eun Hye’s pregnancy. I’m a person who valued friendship so highly, especially with best friend I grow up with, so putting myself in Sun Woo’s shoes…this whole things really feel like hell. And Mr.Moon telling him the truth was just pouring a vinegar in Sun Woo’s deep wound. I can’t wait to write the finale…

The Equator Man Episode 17 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-17-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-17-summary/#comments Sat, 19 May 2012 05:33:42 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=22324

Sun Woo told Jang Il that he wouldn’t stop the game he’s playing. Jang Il confronted him, but it ended up to be Jang Il’s delusion having Sun Woo sitting there. He was just talking to himself.

Meanwhile Jang Il’s father went to meet Mr.Jin. He refused to take a blame that he was the one killing Mr.Kim. Mr.Lee insisted that he was just doing under his order and threat. But Mr.Jin reminded him that he was the one who needed JAng Il’s scholarship and Mr.Kim was still alive when he hung him. These two bad guys just blaming each other.

Mr.Jin was coming down to the DA office. Joon Ho brought up again the questions related to Sun Woo’s dad’s death. But of course Mr.Jin didn’t cooperate and it made Joon Ho lost his patience. He even started calling Mr.Jin with the non-formal (considered very rude in Korea) way of addressing people: “Jin No Sik-ssi!” It offended Mr.Jin and he asked for another prosecutor to be in charge of the interview otherwise he would just keep silent.

Jang Il came in and took over Joon ho’s job voluntarily. Mr.Jin at first thought that Jang Il would still be on his side, but he was completely wrong. Jang Il cornered him. He even invited his father to testify again. They both cornered Mr.Jin with of course Mr.Lee’s partly-lie testimony.

Soo Mi finally found out about the exhibition of her secret paintings. Yoon joo already had many reporters in the gallery. Soo Mi objected her action, but then Sun Woo came and told her he’s gonna buy all the paintings. Soo Mi demanded to take off all the paintings. “If you bring them down, I’ll tell the press what those paintings were really about,” threatened Sun Woo.

He was so disappointed and furious and had no mercy for Soo Mi. “How could you do this to me? Are you having fun watching all this the whole past 15 years? Why did you do this? For Jang Il? He would never ever see you even if you do this all!”

Instead of begging Sun Woo for forgiveness, Soo Mi just kept on Jang Il’s side. Sun Woo was getting more emotional. He said if she didn’t stop, he could crush her hand so she would never be able to paint again.

Yoon Joo told the press that the three friends had promised that day that 15 years later they would do the pose again but in a reverse situation. If before it was Sun Woo who became the victim, this time it was Jang Il.

Sun Woo bring down Mr.Choi to meet Mr.Jin. He told Mr. Jin that he was the person who blackmailed him. Sun Woo left them alone while he was going to the next room where Mr.Lee was. Sun Woo was throwing the fire ball to the men who were firing the ball towards him back then.

Mr.Lee was frustrated that Mr.Choi opened up his mouth and keep telling that Mr.Kim was still alive when he hung him. Jang Il was also frustrated that he even told his father, “You destroy my life.”

The restless Joon Ho was still curious about the whole things that happened. He still believed that Mr.Jin was guilty for Mr.Kim’s death and it’s related to his corruption.

Mr.Jin summoned Ji Won to persuade her making Sun Woo stop. He tried to bribe her with her late father’s company’s shares. Ji Won couldn’t stand the insult anymore that she threw the water into Mr.Jin’s face, saying, “Don’t you ever say bad things about my family or my man again.”

Ji Won came to the blind center and Sun Woo was there too. Sun Woo said it’s good to be able to see her now. But it’d be better if he couldn’t see because he wouldn’t be able to see Soo Mi’s paintings or the expressions on JAng Il and his father’s faces. Sun Woo said but back then the last thing he wanted to see before getting blind was Jang Il’s eyes. Ji Won asked how was JAng Il’s eyes back then. “They’re cold, strong and lonely. I think he hit me because he was cold and lonely,” said Sun Woo.

Then Ji Won asked how does he want this whole thing to end? “What do you want?” and she kept the next questions in her heart: Are you gonna be happy then? I want you to get what you want because I love you. But then she said she wish she’s the one who must do this whole thing instead of him, because it’s too hard for her watching him suffer.

As the scenario, the trio Soo Mi, Jang Il and Sun Woo would undergo the “reconstruction” again of the scene. Soo Mi would take pictures of them and then later paint it again with her own emotion. But this time they would do it in the reverse actors and different setting too. This time Sun Woo was the bad guy. This event was recorded by the media.

Sun Woo started with the kneel. He even said, “I killed your father, let’s say it that way. So don’t go to the police and submit your petition.” And then he got up and approached Jang Il, going to hit him on the back just like Jang Il did to him before. Sun Woo seemed to want to hit him for real, but Soo Mi cut him.

Unfortunately for the press, the building management had to call them down because there were too many people wanted to see the event too. So when everyone went down, Sun Woo locked the door. This time, he hit Jang Il for real on his back: hard and twice. JAng Il dropped, but Sun Woo dragged him to the edge of the rooftop.

Instead of begging for forgiveness, the loony Jang Il said, “I should’ve hit you harder that time, Sun Woo.” It drove Sun Woo crazier. He lift up Jang Il’s feet and was so ready to throw him off the rooftop.

The Equator Man Episode 18 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-18-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-18-summary/#comments Sat, 19 May 2012 04:49:22 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=22350 Kim Sun Woo reconstructed the cliff incident again after everyone left. He hit on the back Jang Il for real this time: hard and twice. Then he dragged Jang Il to the edge of the rooftop and almost threw him off. This scene was from last episode. Thankfully, Geum Jool, yoon Joo and Soo Mi managed to open the door right in time. “What are you doing?!” screamed Yoon Joo. It stopped Sun Woo from being out of his mind and did something he would regret in the future.

There’s a news that another mining was found in Kalimantan, Indonesia. Mr.Jin insisted on getting the claim of the mining. He did all he could to win the competition by threatening a fellow businessman to help him.

Sun Woo told Soo Mi to tell everything Jang Il had done to him to the police. “Can’t you just forgive Jang Il?” asked Soo Mi. “You can’t do it? (tell the truth)” asked Sun Woo. “Then jump off here. I will paint you. Or give me your hand so I can smash it.” Sun Woo had no intention to forgive both Jang Il and Soo Mi. But he said he’s a bit thankful for her paintings because it lessened a bit of his stress.

Sun Woo was talking with his friend about the Law program TV was taking their bait that they planned to investigate further about Sun Woo’s case after his call. Ji Won came and grabbed Sun Woo’s drink, stressful after seeing the pictures of Sun Woo-Jang Il reconstruction scene on the internet. She said, “If I were you, I would just ask the authorities to investigate my case officially.” Apparently, the sentence offended Sun Woo. “Don’t use the words ‘if i were you’ if you’ve never been in my position. Don’t ever talk to me like that.” Sun Woo went to the pantry and Ji Won apologized. Sun Woo said he would bring them to end where there’s no more hope, just like what they did to him back then. “But we met each other back then,” said Ji Won. “Wouldn’t have it been better if we had met somewhere else?” Then Sun Woo was going to grab the liquor but his eyesight suddenly got a problem. Ji Won noticed it, but Sun Woo just said he needed some rest and then left to his room.

Sun Woo submit the petition of his incident. The police wondered why he didn’t open the whole truth to them. Sun Woo said his memory didn’t come back fully after the incident and he had things that he wasn’t sure of. He requested the police to have Jang Il to be the prosecutor who handle the case. And the public investigation run by the TV program had just started. It was just by the time Jang Il’s life and career would be shaken in front of the public.

Jang Il’s father met Sun Woo. He apologized, but still didn’t admit that Sun Woo’s dad was still alive when he hung him. He said he’s just following Mr.Jin’s order. He asked Sun Woo to call Mr.Choi to  let him meet Mr.Choi in private. He said he needed to clear up Mr.Choi’s misunderstanding about him, just to ask him to go out drinking together. Sun Woo did call Mr.Choi to make appointment, as if it was him who was going to meet him. Mr.Lee also said let him had all the blame to make Sun Woo leave Jang Il alone. “I was the one who hit you from the back under Mr.Jin’s order.”

Mr.Lee told Sun Woo what he heard from the conversation of Mr.Jin and his father that day. He was talking about Mr.Jin’s fiance had born a son and he’s still alive. He’s bringing up Moon Tae Joo’s name as well. Then Mr.Kim asked Mr.Jin to take the son with him.

Prosecutor Joon ho was listening to Mr.Choi’s testimony on the recorder when Jang Il came into the room. He told JAng Il that he would open up the case again and even started to investigate him too. “For me being your friend comes in a second place after my job,” he told Jang Il coldly. Then he asked Jang Il to tell him the truth. JAng Il was still in his lie: Sun Woo was just delusional. Joon Ho said he’d hand the recording to the chief. Jang Il was already grabbing his own table name tag and was thinking of hitting Joon ho from the back, but he didn’t do it at last.

Mr.Lee was almost out of his mind. He came to attack Mr.Jin in the elevator saying that they should die together. But thankfully the security guards saw the scene from cctv, so they rush to stop Mr.Lee.

Ji Won and Sun Woo went to see the movie like the old time. He asked Ji Won to tell him the scene while he closed his eyes, but Ji Won eventually told him to just watch it himself because the scene was difficult to explain. Sun Woo asked when she’s gonna drop the honorific whenever she talked to him. Ji Won said when everything was over and things were easy for Sun Woo’s life, she would take it easy too, even though she didn’t know when that time would come. After the movie, both visited the neighborhood where Sun Woo used to live.

While he was still with Ji Won, Sun Woo kind of had a hunch of something might not going alright about Mr.Choi meeting Mr.Lee. He called Mr.Choi to tell him the truth that it was actually Mr.Lee who wanted to meet him. after receiving Sun Woo’s call, Mr.Lee struck Mr.Choi on the back of his head, twice. He was going to dump him somewhere but thankfully, there were a group of boys who were cycling passed Mr.Choi and rescued him.

In the hospital, Mr.Choi told Soo Mi it was Jang Il’s father who tried to kill him. After his murder attempt failed and probably had sensed that police started to search him, Mr.Lee got frustrated that he even almost jumped himself off the bridge.

Jang Il came to the hospital. But he was there to scold Mr.Choi and called him a liar. Soo Mi couldn’t stand him anymore. She slapped him and said, “You’re done now.”

Mr.Jin and Sun Woo was competing in the mining claim. But of course Mr.Jin bribed the board giving all he had for the claim, and it’s exactly how Sun Woo wanted.

Lee Jang Il finally submitted his resignation letter.

Soo Mi met Ji Won to ask her to tell Sun Woo to stop this whole thing. “Why don’t you go to meet him yourself and beg?” said Ji Won. It’s right when Ji Won said Soo Mi wanted to gain everything without doing anything. She never even try to beg Sun Woo forgiveness. Soo Mi kind of blame Sun Woo for being too crazy and just going to bring them all down. Ji Won reminded her made him become what he’s today: “It’s all of you who made him like this.”

Mr.Lee was writing a note for Shin Joon Ho taking all the blame at himself and Jang Il was completely innocent. He also left  a note for Jang Il, a good bye note. When he got home, he didn’t notice the body hanging on the terrace. He read his father’s note and searched him here and there and finally found him. By the fact that Mr.Lee was still getting the oxygen tube in the ambulance, we knew he’s still alive. While he was in the ambulance with his father, Jang Il narrated, “Was it like this what Sun Woo went through?” And when he was in the hospital, it was only Soo Mi who came to see him, but she just saw him from a distant, not saying anything.

Mr.Jin failed again with his mining claim and it seemed to crush him bad.

Meanwhile it’s Eun Hye’s birthday and Mr.Moon told Sun Woo to go visit his mother. Sun Woo went there and after a moment he left. But he forgot to give the handkerchief Mr.Moon told him to give it to his mother so he went back. And there he found Mr.Jin and found out he was his mother’s fiancee….and likely to be his biological father, Sun Woo kind of sensed it.

Knowing now Sun Woo was his fiance’s son, Mr.Jin put all the blame on him. It was because of Eun Hye was having Sun Woo that everyone’s life was ruined: his life, Tae Joo’s life and Eun Hye’s life as well. “Who’s your father? Kyung Phil or Tae Joo?” Sun Woo answered that both men were his father.

He came to Moon Tae Joo for explanation. Moon Tae Joo finally gave him Kyeong Phil’s last letter for him: the answer whether Sun Woo was Jin No Sik’s or Tae Joo’s son. Sun Woo demanded Mr.Moon’s answer right there and he got the ugly truth. Mr.Moon told him that Mr.Jin was his biological father he admit it or not.

The Equator Man Episode 16 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-16-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-16-summary/#comments Mon, 14 May 2012 05:44:59 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=22122 Lee Jang Il is mentally wounded, for sure. But I didn’t realize how loony he could be until he made that solitude creepy self-pride smile when he was seeing himself smiling proudly in the newspaper and watched over and over again the tv report about him helping a woman.
His father suspicious about Sun Woo left a letter in the fruit box, but Jang Il told him not to worry about anything. He said his father just made a mistake and Sun Woo was just acting like a lunatic and he wouldn’t let him win. This man had surely gone loony himself.

Sun Woo arriaved back at his office, and thankfully Ji Won was still there. She waited for him to come. They sat by the window and read the braille novel. Then Ji Won asked him to read her heart, too. Sun Woo said he had no idea. “Cheer up, I’m on your side, Kim Sun Woo.”

Then Ji Won said she could talk to Soo Mi and Jang Il and even Mr.Jin if he let her to, but Sun Woo didn’t want her to get involve.

Sun Woo ordered Geum Jool to keep his eyes on Mr.Jin because that man had invested a lot of money for an empty mining. And also to come by Soo Mi’s place often until the petition date expires. He also had to do something to get Jang Il casted in the TV program.

Sun Woo met prosecutor Joon Ho. They’re talking about Soo Mi’s testimony and it’s suspected to be a lie. Soo Mi said she saw Sun Woo’s dad buying a rope from a convinient store, but at that time the convinient store had been closed for a week because the son of the store man was hospitalized. The prosecutor even had confirmed to the hospital. They were wondering that Soo Mi must have a reason for telling the lie, of course Sun Woo knew because he remembered what Mr.Choi told him the other day. And then Sun Woo asked if he’s close with Jang Il and we couldn’t hear the rest of of their conversation.

Soo Mi came down Sun Woo’s office. She didn’t expect Sun Woo would know she’s lying. Sun Woo had checked the art competition date and Soo Mi was there during the week that she even won a gold medal. “I know why you’re doing this,” said Sun Woo. Then he said if she still considered him as a friend, she should tell the truth when she’s summoned to the DA office again for the testimony.
When Soo Mi came back to her studio, her dad told her that he had told Sun Woo everything. He even said he would go to the prosecutor to tell them the truth. Soo Mi begged him not to do it. They fled abroad, to Hong Kong, as Soo Mi had some works to do there.

Everyone was looking for both of them, the prosecutors, Sun Woo’s team and even Yoon Joo. The expiry date was coming and they needed to get them testify otherwise the case would result as a suicide just like before.Ji Won and Geum Jool came to Soo Mi’s studio but found no one gave a respond to them. Thankfully Yoon Joo came, so they could enter the studio.Geum Jool was talking to Yoon Joo when Ji Won was looking around and found the secret series of painting. Sun Woo got the news instantly.

Sun Woo met Yoon Joo and her mom. They’re asking Sun Woo to invest in a business they’re going to set up. Sun Woo agreed, but he wanted some shares in Bookyung Chemicals, which belonged to Ji Won’s dad before. He also wanted Soo Mi’s painting to be exhibited. He would invest on the exhibition and would take responsibility since the exhibition was without the artist’ approval. He told the mother and daughter that the model of the paintings was him. Then they also noticed Jang Il in there.

Meanwhile Jang Il tried to do everything to make nothing would come up until the petition expired. Prosecutor Joon Ho was frustrated.

Ji Won tried to persuade Sun Woo to end the matter peacefully between him and Jang Il. But for Sun Woo it’s all to late. Meanwhile Jang Il’s father found the letter Jang Il found in the fruit box, and Mrs.Jin found Mr.Choi’s blackmailed letter to her husband about someone’s death. Then Sun Woo did media interviews related to mining industry which led to push Mr.Jin to the corner since he made a huge mistake in the diamond mining investment.

And finally, the case was close. The expiry date had come. It was Jang Il himself who signed and sealed it.

Then he came down Sun Woo’s place for a drink. Sun Woo said he didn’t care about the DA result because actually he just wanted to know the reason why they killed his father. But for Jang Il, he really wanted to hear from him what his real reason hitting his head from the back that day on the cliff. He told him he remembered everything. He remembered his head was hit twice and then he could feel the water. And when these two guys were talking, Ji Won was actually on the next room.

No matter how hard Sun Woo pushed him, Jang Il kept pretending innocent. “Deep down in my heart, I really want to forgive you. So apologize to me,” said Sun Woo. But instead of being scared, Jang Il turned to be angry. He’s mocking Sun Woo, “Who do you think you are?” Sun Woo was actually giving him enough time to change his mind, but Jang Il kept his self pride and decided to leave. When he was out of Sun Woo’s room, he could hear Sun Woo was calling Prosecutor Joon Ho.

The next day, while Sun Woo was having a meeting with Yoon Joo and her mom about their new business, Ji Won came to Moon Tae Joo. She asked him to stop Sun Woo because his war with Jang Il would end up very ugly. Mr.Moon said Sun Woo was smart that he would eventually realized what he’d been doing was wrong and finally stopped himself. “But what if he was too late when he realize it?” asked Ji Won. Then she went to see Jang Il to ask him apologize to Sun Woo soon otherwise it would be very ugly for both of them. “Good for whom? For Sun Woo?” Jang Il responded it very coldly.

Soo Mi and Mr.Choi finally were back from their short escape. Soo Mi realized the paintings were missing.

Jang Il appeared on a TV show. It’s a legal consultation where viewers could call him and asked for his advice. Sun Woo’s friend persuaded one of the program directors to let Sun Woo be the first caller because he had a legal problem he needed to ask the famous prosecutor. And Sun Woo got his spot.

Jang Il’s first caller was a familiar voice with a familiar name. Sun Woo said that his best friend hit him on the back of his head and pushed him off the cliff. He asked if that case counted as an attempt murder. Jang Il said they needed to consider the hitter’s reason of doing so.

Then Sun Woo asked if he could process this case to the legal court, it happened 15 years ago. Jang Il said the time limit had almost expired, but if there were enough evidence and witness then it could be proceeded. Sun Woo said what if the bad person was working in the justice field. “His name is…” he made a pause, which gave a tense in the situation. Jang Il’s eyes were open wider. “Lee… Jang…” And then he turned off the phone and left.

The scene was flash back to the moment when Jang Il heard Sun Woo was still drinking with Sun Woo. Jang Il kept acting innocent. But then Sun Woo made an offer. “Let’s make Mr.Jin as the bad guy, so you could save your father and your name would be clean.” Jang Il refused it, because if he said yes then it meant he admitted it that he and his father were actually guilty. So then he left.

Apparently, as soon as Jang Il heard Sun woo was calling Joon Ho, he turned back to the room. He finally said, “Let’s say Mr.Jin killed your father.”

The Equator Man Episode 15 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-15-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-15-summary/#comments Sun, 13 May 2012 01:31:34 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=22072 Sun Woo came to confront Jang Il in his working place, saying that if it wasn’t Mr.Jin who killed his father, I would be his father. Jang Il pissed off, saying that Sun Woo had been over the line while they’ve been working their best on the case. Sun woo insisted his argument was true and Jang Il didn’t even felt sorry at all for him.

“what the hell should I feel sorry about??” Jang Il pushed Sun Woo several times, so Sun Woo lost his patience and fought back. He pushed Jang Il to the wall, saying, “Don’t ever touch me again!” And then left.

Back to his office, Ji Won was about to go back home from work. Sun Woo asked to hold her hand for a while, he needed to calm himself down. Ji Won asked what was the burden in his mind and asked about the man who wrotee him the letter.

Sun Woo pretended he’s okay and said he’d share the information with her later after he made sure the whole things. Then Sun Woo said he was glad that Ji Won was by his side again. “I didn’t expected you read my letter,” he said. Ji Won said she never waited for Sun Woo, nor remember him for the past 12 years. Sun Woo asked what if she met someone else. Ji Won said there’s no one as good as Sun Woo.

While he was preparing breakfast for his presocutor son, Mr.Lee got a phonecall from the DA office. He’s finally summoned to give his testimony regarding Sun Woo’s case. Jang Il told him not to worry and they would practice everything later at night.

Sun Woo went to the hospital to check on his eyes. The doctor said even though he could see again now, he should be careful about his eyes. If he got another hit or very stressful, his eyessight would be in danger again. Kim Sun Woo might be a dare devil, but I think now he had one biggest fear in his life: losing his eyesight again.

In the Da office, Prosecutor Choi insisted on doing a further investigation on Mr.Jin’s employees. Jang Il said he shouldn’t push thing out as if intending to set up Mr.Jin to be guilty and caused the DA office in a trouble like he did another businessman last year.

Jang Il summoned Mr.Choi into his office. After a light chitchat, sun Woo finally got down to the business. He asked Mr.Choi why he sent him the letter. “Did you know something all this time? Or did you hear something from someone?” Mr.Choi freaked out, but kept saying he knew nothing, he didn’t send him any letter, and then left.

Already bit drunk, Mr.Choi came down to his daughter’s studio to ask her drinking together with him. And then he saw the curtain and wondered about it. He opened it and got a shock of what he was seeing: Soo Mi’s secret painting.

Mr.Jin brought up the talk about Mr.Moon with Sun Woo. “I heard that he’s your biological father,” said Mr.Jin. Sun Woo still pretended that he just knew Mr.Moon was a legend in the mining business. Then the conversation was getting tense when Sun Woo started talking about his father’s murder case. Mr.Jin kept acting like a fool about it.

Mr.Choi was frustrated that his daughter had fallen too deep for Jang Il that she even protected him from Sun Woo. Soo Mi said,”As much as I hate him. I feel sorry for him. I like him, but I can’t have him. So I will destroy him that no one will have him either.”

Jang Il managed to see the questions Prosecutor Choi prepared for next day interview. JAng Il shared the info to his father and they rehearsed what Mr.Lee must and must not do at the interrogation room.

JAng Il came down to Soo Mi’s studio to asked her why she lied for him. Soo Mi said she didn’t do it for him. JAng Il told her to just leave the country as he knew she might backstab her later on after this. Soo Mi said they’re alike and Jang Il was the master of backstabbing.

Sun Woo, Mr.Moon, his friend and Ji Won went for camping for Sun Woo. That man needed a break for his eyesight sake, and he had his loved ones with him. Spending their time alone, Ji Won told him that the reason she smashed Mr.Jin’s car window 15 years ago because she hated him from taking her father’s business in a dirty way. Her father already died without being able to get it back and had his own incompetence to blame for it.

Ji Won said she still hate Mr.Jin until now but the way she did her revenge was to live a good life. Then She asked him about what really happened in the accident that took out his eyesight. Sun Woo told her, but omit the name of the person who hit him. Ji Won said she hoped it wasn’t the person she had in her mind.
And when Ji Won had fallen asleep on his shoulder, Sun Woo said all this time he had been wondering that all people he loved leaving him. His father, his best friend. He hoped Ji Won would stay with him for a very long time.

Sun Woo told Moon Tae Joo that he wanted to visit his mother’s graveyard. But the next day they had to hurriedly go back to Seoul because the IRS was going to investigate their company’s tax. Someone had to be behind it.

Mr.Lee did as he had rehearsed the other night with his son. Of course he lied. Sun Woo managed to wrap up his work and came down to watch Mr.Lee’s testimony. When Mr.Lee was on his way home, Sun Woo made him go with his car. Mr.Lee was so tense. To make it more tense, Sun Woo said he’s going to stop by at JAng Il’s place as well because he had a box of fruit for him.

The three tried to be less tense during dinner together, until Sun Woo brought up the topic of Mr.Lee’s cooking. He remembered having dinner with them 15 years ago and told them about submitting the letter to the police and the next day it was gone. Then he asked Mr.Lee if he really never saw his father’s face. Jang Il told him to leave. After sun Woo was leaving, Jang Il threw the fruit box from Sun Woo to the floor. He found a copy of Mr.Choi’s letter among the grapes.

Mr.Choi finally came down to confess his sin to Sun Woo. His introduction was the background reason what made him shut up this whole time. “Soo Mi still likes that bastard.” Then he started to tell Sun Woo everything he saw that night, including the fact that Mr.Kim was still alive when Mr.Lee hang him on the tree. “Why didn’t you try to do something?” demanded Sun Woo. Mr.Choi said that the thrill of witnessing such a terrible scene was hard to explain and he didn’t know it was Mr.Kim until he heard him murmured, “I have promised Sun Woo…”

“Why didn’t you tell me the truth?? Why didn’t you tell the police back then??!” Sun Woo’s emotion went out of control. Mr.Choi he would do everything Sun Woo told him to from now on. He would also tell the police everything.

It was a very heartbreaking moment and Sun Woo screamed out a heartbreaking cry. He sounds like a little kid who lost his mother in the crowd and didn’t know how to react but to cry desperately out loud. Thankfully Ji Won was still in her office and she witnessed all this too. She couldn’t help listening to Sun Woo’s cry so she stepped out and be the soothing place for Sun Woo to cry on.

Mr.Jin made a mistake in the investment of diamond business, which happened exactly like Sun Woo had advised him the other day. He was frustrated and was planning an illegal way to cover up. Then he summoned Sun Woo for this reason, and Sun Woo with his own reason was more than happy to come down. For Sun Woo now it didn’t really matter what the DA investigation result. He just wanted to hear from Mr.Jin himself what really happened that day. He even showed him the letter. Mr.Jin kept acting innocent. Sun Woo said he would give him another kind of punishment than a mere justice sentence. “I would take away your most precious thing,” threatened Sun Woo. Mr.Jin was furious and told him to leave. “I’m not gonna be the Goliath that you (David) could beat down,” he said. Before leaving, Sun Woo, “I hope you’re not.”

Ji Won refused to hear anything anymore from Seon Woo. This is a very normal reaction in my opinion. She just left without anymore words. And when Seon Woo was going to catch her, she already got into the taxi.

Meanwhile Mr.Choi had a nightmare. He’s lying during the testimony and then Mr.Kim suddenly came approach him asking him for the last help. Soo Mi told him to just come to the DA office and told them that he really did see Mr.Kim’s spirit.

Jang Il tried to assure his father that everything would be. People wouldn’t know that he’s Jang Il’s father. Jang Il told him the scenario he had to tell the prosecutors. All he needed to say was he didn’t see anyone coming that day because he was busy working.

Ji Won didn’t come to work. Seon Woo understood her situation and gave her some time. He text her to come to the blind center and asked for an audio story about Salmon Story. The story was pretty much told about how much Seon Woo missed Ji Won.

Mr.Choi finally came down to the DA office. Choi Yoon Seok asked why he cared so much for  Seon Woo that he even came to the hospital every day when Seon Woo was unconscious. Mr.Choi said that he felt sorry for Seon Woo. Yoon Seok also asked him about his initiative to hold the ritual after Mr.Kim died. Mr.Choi said he didn’t believe that Mr.Kim would kill himself like that on the day of his son’s birthday.

Seon Woo was having conversation with Mr.Moon when Mr.Jin made a sudden visit to Seon Woo’s office. Mr.Moon went hiding into one of the rooms. Mr.Jin’s point of coming was to tell Seon Woo to stop his petition, but these two people talk in a very high political way so they both still acted very polite to each other. When Mr.Jin was about to go, he noticed a reading glasses. He sensed there’s Mr.Moon somewhere in the office. But Seon Woo said the glasses is his because he got a bad eyesight since the accident.

Jang Il informed Mr.Jin about his men coming down Mr.Jin’s house in disguise as reporters. Mr.Jin had all his family put on an acting to support him.

Ji Won paid her debt money to Jang Il. For Jang Il it’s a clear sign that they would never be more than friends and Ji Won confirmed it by saying that “we’re only college friends.” Jang Il said it must be because of Seon Woo and that guy was so lucky to get her deep love.

Ji Won was at the blind center recording a story when Seon Woo suddenly appeared in front of her. Seon Woo asked her to listen to his explanation. He said Ji Won was the main reason he done surgeries to get his eyesight back and decided to come back to Korea, but he had another matter to solve. He had been having a big burden in his recent life that made him delayed his plan to confess to her. Seon Woo showed her the petition and shared Ji Won his story from the beginning, the moment when his father was found dead 15 years ago.

“I was going to tell you when it’s over and asked for your forgiveness the rest of my life. I didn’t want you to see me come back as a person with so much vengeance in his heart.” Ji Won asked what if she would never forgive him. “I will wait for your forgiveness all my life,” said Seon Woo. Ji Won was going to leave, but Seon Woo stopped her saying, “I won’t lose you anymore. From now I on, i’ll be the one waiting.” Ji Won just left.

Ji Won tried to think about this matter with a clear mind. She finally realized that it wasn’t only her who had been in pain and had gone through a hard life after their separation. She recalled her memories with Seon Woo and made up her mind. The next day she prepared the box and put on her old scarf again.

She left the box on Seon Woo’s desk. Seon Woo found it later, thought that Ji Won was leaving him. But when he checked Ji Won’s desk, he found a note telling him to go to the park they used to go when he was still blind. So it was Ji Won’s way of giving her forgiveness and take Seon Woo back. Seon Woo embraced her tight and said it felt so much like the old days. Ji Won said, “Whether you were blind or now you can see, I’m just very happy to have you by my side.”

And then they kiss. Passionate kiss. Adult kiss! In comparison with Seung Gi’s kiss to Ha Ji Won or Yoo Chun’s kiss to Han Ji Min, Tae Woong and Lee Bo Yong’s kiss was like a show off to them, “hey kids, this is how adults make out!”

Back to the office Ji Won and Seon Woo opened the box together. She asked Seon Woo to read the brailles book and Seon Woo still pretended it was an old novel. Ji Won said she had found out the truth about the book. Then she gave him the letter, addressed for him, she found in his house after he left. Seon Woo was surprised reading the short note. Ji Won also read it.

Seon Woo discussed the letter with his friend and Mr.Moon. They thought it must be someone who was relatively close to Seon Woo, considering he knew Seon Woo’s address in Seoul that time. Then Seon Woo recalled his memory of Mr.Choi offered him to hold a ritual after his father’s death. Seon Woo decided to summon Mr.Choi to his office. He pretended that he would send Mr.Choi a box of nice fruit and asked him to write down his address. They’re going to check if his writing match the writing in the letter.

Jang Il looked more tense when Soo Mi came down the DA office for her testimonial. He even imagined Soo Mi would gave him no mercy by saying out loud that the prosecutors should also checked the person behind Seon Woo’s accident and that person was none other than Lee Jang Il, the prosecutor. But it was just Jang Il’s imagination.

But the reality was quite surprising. Just like Seon Woo had sensed, Soo Mi seemed to be standing on Jang Il’s side in this matter. Soo Mi told Choi Yoon Seok that she had a secret she never told Seon Woo and had been in a deep regret ever since. She said the day before Mr.Kim was dead, she met him in front of the convenience store in a strange condition and held a rope. She remembered asked him if he’s sick. Mr.Kim just said that nothing good in life that he should continue to hold anymore. Soo Mi even showed Choi her drawing of the bad mood Mr.Kim that day. The date in the drawing confirmed her story.

Jang Il was so surprise that Soo Mi did the reverse thing she had been threatening him. When Soo Mi was about to leave the DA office, Jang Il ran to catch up with her, but stop at a distance. Soo Mi noticed Jang Il and she turned around. The look in Jang Il’s eyes express a mixture feelings of confuse, surprise and probably gratitude.

I’m not sure why Soo Mi finally did this. She was supposed to help Seon Woo, but is her love for Jang Il that much? Or it’s just one of her plans to make Jang Il’s life in hell? Or probably what she told the prosecutor was simply the truth, because if we recall to Mr.Kim’s condition that time, he was pretty much like a mess and frustrated after hearing about his worsen cancer. And Seon Woo kind of knew that there’s something going on between Jang Il and Soo Mi, so he could sense it that Soo Mi might go to Jang Il’s side in this petition matter.

Seon Woo came down to Jang Il’s office. Jang Il told him that his petition towards Mr.Jin would like to result just the same as it was 15 years ago: Mr.Kim’s death was just a suicide. Seon Woo said that’s exactly the reason why he came to his office, that his father’s killer probably wasn’t Mr.Jin.

“Jang Il, was my father killed by your father?”

The Equator Man Episode 13 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-13-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-13-summary/#respond Sat, 05 May 2012 15:06:53 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=21735

Jang Il came home crying, saying that if he should marry Soo Mi. This man is really sick. His father embraced him asking if Seon Woo do something bad to him. Jang Il knew that now his real problem is not only Seon Woo, but also Soo Mi.

The next day at the office, Jang Il and Choi Yoon Seok were summoned by their boss to handle the petition of Kim Seon Woo. Jang Il’s fear embraced him well. He was panic calling his father to call Mr.Jin from a public phone where there’s no cctv around and to tell Mr.Jin to meet him at a certain place.

Jang Il told Mr.Jin about his involvement on this case and said that if he’s proven guilty he had to receive the punishment. Mr.Jin said Jang Il should stop this matter and stop Seon Woo’s petition to end. Mr.Jin said if he’s falling, he would drag Jang Il along. Then Jang Il asked him why he killed Seon Woo’s dad, but of course Jang Il didn’t get the answer he wanted.

Han Ji Won came to work and acted calm as usual. But both actually couldn’t really help their missing for each other. Ji Won could only touch the wall that connected her room and Seon Woo’s and in the same time, Seon Woo also did the same thing. And later during lunch time, Seon Woo was on his way somewhere when he saw Ji Won was enjoying the break time with other staffs at the near by restaurant. I think it was out of his consciousness, Seon Woo stopped and lean on the restaurant’s fence, watching Ji Won. Sensing someone was staring at her, Ji Won turned her head and saw her boss. Seon Woo acted cool as usual and just continued his walk.

Because Jang Il was on a TV the other day and the fact that Soo Mi went to the same high school as him, Yoon Joo proposed an idea of holding a media interview of both Soo Mi and Jang Il as old friends that supported each other. Jang Il refused the idea at first when Yoon Joo called him. But hearing Yoon Joo mentioning that Soo Mi had paintings to give him, Jang Il agreed to come. Soo Mi said they should also invite David Kim. If he’s coming, Soo Mi would go the interview with them.

Both Jang Il and Seon Woo came. Jang Il looked tense looking at the closed curtain where Soo Mi put all her secret paintings the other day. Meanwhile Seon Woo kind of curious if Soo Mi had more paintings that was suspicious like the bridge scenery painting. Yoon Joo opened the curtain and Jang Il could finally breathe when he saw the paintings behind the curtain were totally different. Then Soo Mi said she’s not feeling of doing the interview only together with Jang Il because Seon Woo said he couldn’t be seen together with Jang Il in public because of his petition. Soo Mi’s sudden change in decision upset Yoon Joo. Seon Woo also excused himself when Soo Mi said sorry that she’s not in a very good mood that day. After Seon Woo left, Jang Il grabbed Soo Mi and talked harshly to her just like usual. He even grabbed Soo Mi’s face. but thankfully, Seon Woo suddenly came back, made Jang Il let go of Soo Mi. Seon Woo said sorry for interrupting, but he was only going to get something he had forgotten still left on the table.

Seon Woo made a trip back to Busan with his friend and Mr.Moon. They visited Seon Woo’s historical places, like the place where Seon Woo found his father’s body hanging on the tree, the cliff and the next day they visited Seon Woo’s old house. Moon Tae Joo worried about Seon Woo’s submitting his petition. He said no matter how hard he tried to bring them down, Jang Il would fight him back 10times harder. But Seon Woo didn’t even think of stepping back, he said, ”That’s why I have to make the first move.”

Soo Mi and Mr.Choi were enjoying expensive facial maskers when each of them received a phone call in the same time from the prosecutor office. As Seon Woo had mentioned that he put their names as witnesses, they would be summoned to make testimony. Mr.Choi was panic, saying he wouldn’t go. But Soo Mi tried to persuade him.

Soo Mi suddenly made a visit to Seon Woo’s office. But there’s only Ji Won there. She asked Ji Won, “Isn’t it hurt that Seon Woo didn’t recognize you?” Ji Won knew where the conversation would lead, so she coldly said that she would go make her some coffee. Soo Mi was measuring Seon Woo’s wall (to hang a perfect painting, I guess) and suddenly needed a sheet of paper. Since Ji Won didn’t respond to her calling, Soo Mi searched through Seon Woo’s desk and found Ji Won’s picture in the drawer.

Seon Woo still had his night mare and always hysterically screaming “I cannot see! I cannot see!” when he woke up. His friend said it must have something to do with the stress he’d been having related to this petition matter.

The next day he went straightly to the DA office to attend his interview and the person who submit the petition. Jang Il was the prosecutor in charge of the interview. His introduction saying that he actually went to the same high school with Seon Woo quite surprising others. Then he started questioning Seon Woo but from the other point of view. His questions seemed to lead to the possibility of Seon Woo made it all up to bring down Mr.Jin. Seon Woo coldly asked, “Have you already concluded that Mr.Jin is innocent?” JAng Il had his excuse saying that as a prosecutor, they have to see the case from various angles. Seon Woo seemed to be cornered in this interview until when he was about to leave the room he said that they should also check Mr.Jin’s employee during that time  and ask them if any of them saw his father coming that day.

Apparently, Soo Mi had put Ji Won’s picture in the file she saw on Seon Woo’s desk. Her plan did work, Ji Won finally got the picture on her hands. she finally knew what her boss had been hiding.

Since Ji Won was too shock facing the reality that Seon Woo knew her, and had been pretending as if he didn’t know her, that she turned unwell the rest of the day. She and Seon Woo had to go to a meeting, but looking at Ji Won’s condition, Seon Woo gave her a day off.

At home, Ji Won opened up again the box where she had kept Seon Woo’s old stuffs and recalled Seon Woo’s goodbye-letter. She still didn’t show up for work the next day and when she finally got back behind her office desk, she still looked unwell. Seon Woo came to her room, made the stare again, before he finally said that she should go home if she’s tired. A spontaneous question from Ji Won startled Seon Woo a bit, “Where should I get a massage when I have eyes fatigue?”

Seon Woo was back in his room when Ji Won finally decided to just go home. To Seon Woo surprise, Ji Won gave him back her picture. Seon Woo was shock finding out the picture was out of the frame.

“So you already knew me all this time?” asked Ji Won. Seon Woo went speechless, but Ji Won demanded him to speak. He finally made a confession that he straightly recognized her the first time he saw her. “And all this time you pretend not knowing me? Are you crazy or something?” argued Ji Won. Seon Woo’s excuse was that he waited for the perfect timing to tell her the truth. “You need prefect timing to just tell me ‘I remember you’?” argued Ji Won again. Seon Woo said he waited for the right moment to tell her the truth because what he wanted to tell her is more than just “I rememer you.” Ji Won said she didn’t want to hear anything anymore.

Seon Woo called her “Hemming-ssi” again and tried to stop her. But Ji Won let go of his hand and coldly said, “You’re no more Kim Seon Woo that I used to know.”

The Equator Man Episode 12 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-12-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/the-equator-man-episode-12-summary/#comments Sun, 29 Apr 2012 10:29:43 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=21553 Lee Jang Il  is under attack, I think that’s the main theme of The Equator Man episode 12. Seon Woo is no longer playing nice, while Soo Mi had lost her patience. And it was actually Jang Il himself who pushed these two persons to attack him without any mercy.

Soo Mi actually witnessed everything happened in the cliff that day. Apparently Soo Mi painted what she saw that day into several paintings. She was sending one to Jang Il.

Seon Woo got an information from the police office that his petition was still lack of evidence that they couldn’t open the case again. It’s actually as he had expected it and he seemed to have his next plan already.

Seon Woo called out Jang Il for a meeting lunch. He had a favor to ask: to help him to open up the case again. Jang Il said it’s out of his jurisdiction. Seon Woo asked if he could find someone in the jurisdiction he knew that could help him. His next statement made Jang Il had no chance. Seon Woo said that night when he stayed in Jang Il’s place he heard his father talking to Mr.Jin about they’re being the only two people at the villa that day. But Seon Woo made it smooth by saying, “of course he said that because he didn’t want to be suspected. They’re the only witnesses I had, but I leave out your father’s name.” Being cornered, Jang Il said he knew someone in crime division.

Seon Woo’s friend’s part in the scenerio was to be in contact with Choi. He went to Kendo’s dojo where Choi went and did sparring with him and be in the same sauna room. He just needed to pretend receiving a phone call from someone saying that Jin No Shik was accused of being involved in a murder case. And it worked, Choi studied back documents related to Mr.Jin.

Geom Jool brought Mr.Kim’s old stuffs to Seon Woo, then he asked Seon Woo to come to Soo Mi’s second exhibition. In the flyer he saw the painting bridge Jang Il saw the other day. It reminded him of the familiar place back in his hometown. Seon Woo said he’s coming to Soo Mi’s exhibition.

Seon Woo asked Jang Il if he had called his friend from the criminal division yet. With so much hesitation, Jang Il called his junior, Shin, and went drink with him. He told Shin that an old friend asked for a favor. But he said it in a way that this old friend was a bit confused thinking his father’s death as homicide instead of a suicide because he had gone through accidents and hard life. But when Seon Woo came down the DA office to meet Shin, that young prosecutor turned to be more than willing to look at the file. But Jang Il distracted his attention by giving him information about a bigger criminal case he should take over. And it worked.

Ji Won came early for her new position at Seon Woo’s company to study her new job description. Seon Woo said she could start the whole thing later and her first task was to prepare for the company’s party.

Ji Won brought Seon Woo to check on the venue. He made the stare and Ji Won noticed it. but Seon Woo had a good excuse, Ji Won missed one of her earrings. Then he asked if she had any dress for the event. Knowing she didn’t have one, Seon Woo brought her to a boutique and chose the best gown for her after several tries, saying it’s not personal presents but for the sake of company’s image.

In the car, Ji Won asked Seon Woo if he knew everyone in his guest list. Seon Woo said some he knew, the others were the ones he wanted to meet. Then she asked about Jin No Shik and Lee JAng Il. He said he knew Mr.Jin but not much and wanted to know better. As for Jang Il, he didn’t hesitate telling him that they’re best friend in high school. Ji Won wondered why that day, when Jang Il found her playing guitar for Seon Woo he didn’t say anything.

Yoon Joo was asked by Mr.Jin to go dating with Choi. That rposecutor was still investigating Mr.Jin, thanked to David Kim and Mr.Jin did sense it. Yoon Joo just gladly do her step-father’s favor since it’s merely business.

Ji Won excused herself from the office and Seon Woo just said “good job” without even looking. Ji Won got back when Seon Woo was in a deep thought looking at a book. She watched from the behind the door and then left quitely after awhile. Seon Woo knew she was looking at him.

Seon Woo visited Soo Mi at the gallery. At first he put on a show pretending he was still blind. He asked the story behind Soo Mi’s bridge painting. Soo Mi said it’s just a scenery. Then Soo Mi brought Seon Woo to have drink together with her father. Seon Woo told them that he’s going to make the police open up the case again. He told them that he had put their name in the witness list, so he asked for their cooperation. Both suddenly looked tense for each of their own reason.

Everyone came to Seon Woo’s company’s party: Mr.Jin and his family, Soo Mi, Geum Jool who wore nice suit, and of course, Jang Il. The old best friends were having conversation when the expected lady came in her pretty long black gown. The only person who was startled there was Jang Il. Seon Woo just pretended to be surprise by asking how could they know each other. Ji Won said they’re college friend.

After Seon Woo left, Ji Won asked why Jang Il never told her that Seon Woo was his best friend. Jang Il said Seon Woo’s condition made him not be able to tell him that the girl he liked was the same girl he had fallen in love with. Jang Il asked if she got the job because of their old relationship. Ji Won said Seon Woo didn’t recognized her, so he’s just a boss for her now.

Soo Mi and Geum Jool asked Seon Woo how could he manage to find Ji Won, the girl from the blind center that he had a crush on. Seon Woo just coldly said, “I met many girls in the blind center.” and “I liked many girls too there.”  Aarggh, I’m not sure if I could buy Seon Woo’s excuse again for pretending to forget Ji Won. And I wonder what made Ji Won stay quite. I mean, if I were her, after these whole years of waiting…and when that man finally came he pretend not to know me?? I would give him a hard slap on the face and said, “you shouldn’t have asked me to wait!” hehe.

Seon Woo knew that young prosecutor Shin was putting his case on a hold and Jang Il was obviously being unsupportive. Then Seon Woo asked a provocative question, “What if there’s a deal to make the homicide into a suicide? Your scholarship is not an investment but a deal to hide the truth.” Jang Il couldn’t help himself to grab Seon Woo on his collar and punched him hard in front of the public.

It’s obviously Jang Il’s worst nightmare. After that party he went back to his office and found the painting Soo Mi’s sent to him. He came to the gallery the next day and confronted Soo Mi.

Soo Mi told him that she was on the cliff that day. She was painting and was on her way back when she saw Jang Il knelt before Seon Woo. And she hid herself behind a rock and witnessed the whole scene.

Jang Il asked why she didn’t give the painting to Seon Woo instead. She said what if Seon Woo had actually knew it all. She also said that she’d go giving her testimony if the police opened up the case again. “Do you want me that badly that you do all this? Have you gone crazy wanting me badly?” asked Jang Il. “It was you who turned crazy,” said Soo Mi. “Why you did all this to your own best friend??” Soo Mi reminded him again that he was the one saying that he would regret it later. “So you will regret it.”

I really hope Seon Woo-Ji Won matter would be solved in the next episode. And I cannot wait for the next episodes to come.
