Moo Gyeol just left Mae Ri in the hospital, taking her silence as her answer. Not long after Moo Gyeol  left, Mae Ri got a phone call from Jeong In’s dad. His son finally woke up.

Jeong In asked for a private time with Mae Ri, but we didn’t know what they’re talking about. When it’s time for him to talk to his father, he asked him to consider canceling the marriage. He said he loved Mae Ri, but he wanted her to be happy and marrying her would only make her unhappy. However, Jeong Seok just sticked to his plan. The wedding ceremony will proceed.

Moo Gyeol was cleaning up Mae Ri’s stuffs when Mae Ri finally showed up and said, “This is my anwer.” But soon after the reunion, Moo Gyeol recieved a phone call from Jeong In. He asked him to come to the hospital. Instead of saying that he’s letting Mae Ri go, he said he’ll continue on the marriage, so Moo Gyeol would understand something in the future.

That night Mae Ri texting Moo Gyeol. She asked Moo Gyeol to give her three days to handle the marriage issue with Jeong In. On the third day, she’d come to the park in the afternoon. Moo Gyeol should meet her there.

The marriage plan proceeded. The bride and groom prepared for the wedding ceremony. None of Mae Ri’s friends came. Seo Jun came to the event, and everyone seemed to be happy, except for the couple.

But Seo Jun made a call to the band member asking why they weren’t there at Mae Ri’s wedding. The kid just said, “Noona, don’t fool me with such a joke.” But Seo Jun then confirmed him that she was at the ceremony. The pack rushed to Moo Gyeol and told him the breaking news. Moo Gyeol ran for his love.

But it’s too late. The bride and groom were already in front of the priest, ready to take the vow. Moo Gyeol couldn’t see it any longer, so he just left.

When the priest asked Jeong In: “Do you, Jeong In, take Wi Mae Ri as your wife…..” Jeong In didn’t say anything. The priest had to repeated it. And then Jeong In finally said, “I do.” Everyone, especially the fathers, looked  relieve. “But,” continued Jeong In surprisingly, “We can’t do this marriage.” Jeong In then turned around and face all the guests saying that they couldn’t get marriage as their family had planned. They’d hold on to what they love. Then the couple left the altar together…

Jeong In and Mae Ri seemed to be relieve because the heavy burden had been lifted up. But when Mae Ri finally leaft him to go to Moo Gyeol, we could see his jaw was tightened. He suppressed his emotion just like usual.

Seo Jun came to cheerup Moo Gyeol. She said, “If only you had stayed a bit longer, you wouldn’t have been this sad. They both fled.” Then Moo Gyeol, once again, ran for his love.

Jeong Seok was furious. Jeong In told him that it was the best way to stop his father plan. He said he loved Mae Ri, but he wouldn’t let her suffer in marriage just like his mom. He told his father to forget his plan of having Mae Ri as his daughter in law, as the subtitution of her mother. Jeong In said it wasn’t fair if his father had to sacrife the happiness of both Mae Ri and him just because his untold love to Mae Ri’s mom.

Just in the right moment, Wi Dae Han came in and heard everything. He finally knew what the real reason behind his hyung nim‘s insistence of marrying their child.

Moo Gyeol finally met Mae Ri at the park just like what their promise, though he was quite late. Moo Gyeol said that it wasn’t because he didn’t believe in Mae Ri. the problem was because he didn’t believe in himself. Moo Gyeol then gave Mae Ri the cat locket he bought few days before. (Why Jang Geun Seok should have that girly cute smile??)

While the couple was reaching their happy ending. Jeong In’s life was hard. He was kicked out of the house by his father. He refused to beg for forgiveness because he thought it was the right time to prove himself that he could live independently from his dad.

Jeong In still ran the company. The drama was still facing a problem, but everybody had a faith in him. He’s meeting Mae Ri with a lighter mood. However, while Mae Ri and Moo Gyeol were back to their “normal” life, Jeong In was still way too far from it. He’s struggling.

No home, Jeong In slept in the office. (what about hotel, dude?) Instead of finding a more proper place, he seek for refugee in Moo Gyeol’s place. Honestly, for me that’s kind of weird, but it’s the last episode so I just went with everything the writer gave us.

In short, Moo Gyeol opened up his heart and home for Jeong In. Let say he basically had a good heart and Mae Ri had explained to him what really happened before the wedding ceremony and asked him not to hate Jeong In. So he let Jeong In stayed, but he got the couch and no complain for that.

Moo Gyeol was the biggest asset for Jeong In’s company. He even planned to make him a single, separated from “Wonderful Day” project. However, the company needed Moo Gyeol to help for the success of “Wonderful Day” project that moment, and he agreed with that.

With no more fundings from his father, Jeong In got no more fancy car. He had to rely on Moo Gyeol’s VW for doing the promotion concert.

Funny things happened on their way back home after the show. The sleepy Moo Gyeol’s head fell on to Jeong In’s shoulder. It was almost romantic if only the sleeping person had been a girl. Jeong In seemed to enjoy the situation, but soon when Moo Gyeol suddenly woke up, they stared at each other awkwardly. :D When they got home, they’re greeted warmly by Mae Ri.

Seo Jun asked Jeong In why he let go of Mae Ri. Was it because he loved her so much that he wanted her to be happy or was it because he didn’t want to lose Moo Gyeol for the sake of his company? Jeong In said it’s neither both. He said he just wanted to be independent from his father in all matters: love and business.

The situation in Moo Gyeol’s place pretty much reminded me of Son Ye Jin’s 2008 movie “My Wife Got Married.” In a normal situation, i think it’s gonna be weird for a house to have one house wife with two husbands. Could you imagine Mae Ri said “Oh, i live with my boyfriend and my on-progress-divorce husband. We got along with each other well. I feed them both fairly.” B)   And then if someone had asked, “And what you guys do in your spare time together?” I think Mae Ri would’ve innocently answered, “Each of us just busy with ourselves. My husband couldn’t get away from his tablet, my boyfriend just killing time do this and that, and I got the book.”

A call then changed everything. Jeong In got a confirmation that “Wonderful Day” made it to the TV. He told the good news firstly to Mae Ri. And it was the first time he and Moo Gyeol did the handshake sincerely.

The divorce was finally done. The whole gang made a celebration for that. Even Seo Jun came with a champagne…

One year later…

Mae Ri was making an interview documentary about marriage among young people. Jeong In then showed up, in a much lighter expression. He said his father was coming back from Japan and in a good health. They were still friends.

A young boy came running addressed Mae Ri as “sunbae” and asked her who was this guy (Jeong In). Jeong In casually said, “I’m her ex-husband”. The boy didn’t buy it at first, but Mae Ri confirmed it. It turned out that young boy was a musician and he was Mae Ri’s loyal fan.

Jeong In: “It seemed that you attracted all the men dealing with music.”

Moo Gyeol was still the same. He still liked to sing at the park. His relationship went on and off the whole year. They broke up 12 times and got back together as that much. IT was the 13 they got back together again.

Seo Jun moved on with her life pretty well. Her carreer was shining, though she still picky and bad temper.

So, everyone seemed to have a happy ending.

Young people in 21th century had  a broad choice how to be in a commitment with their love once. Marriage doesn’t mean a happy ending. It’s all about how you love someone and tried to be happy together. Well, I think we all learn something from this drama about marriage…

I had a very high expectation with this drama at the beginning. You know, with the names as big as Moon Geun Yeong, Jang Geun Seok and Kim Jae Wook…who didn’t. So I was overwhelmed when finding out how the drama turned out to be. I got the points of what the writer wished to deliver to us, the audience, very clearly, but I think she could’ve done way better with such talented actors. Many cliches, weak premises, and lame execution by the director.

I guess we WAS entertained, BUT they should’ve been able to give us MORE than just a plain and mediocre entertainment. Great names didn’t seem enough. Give us good stories next time, please…

See you in the next summary dear readers… ;)

Marry Me, Mary! Episode 15 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/marry-me-mary-episode-15-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/marry-me-mary-episode-15-summary/#respond Sun, 02 Jan 2011 01:13:03 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=5427 I can say that episode 15 is about Moo Gyeol being childish. He didn’t want to listen to explanation, yet didn’t want to seek for the truth, abandon his professional work just because a personal issue, and lack of consideration. He’s definitely selfishly childish.

Let me show you what I mean..

Moo Gyeol refused to listen to Mae Ri’s explanation and just left. Mae Ri waited for him at home. She even refused to join her friends in christmas celebration. But what she eventually got? Moo Gyeol sent her away. What a jerk. X|

The next day Moo Gyeol came to the office just to accuse Jeong In that he had planned it all and that’s why he’s withdrawing himself from the drama production. It seemed that Moo Gyeol wasn’t only a jerk, he’s very amateur. Didn’t he know the meaning of “professional”?? He couldn’t just leave as he wish. The contract worth millions of Won and when it came to business, it’s no more about he and Jeong In alone.

So it’s no wonder if the polite Jeong In mocked him as an irresponsible person. He said, “I thought I was able to let Mae Ri go to you. But finding out that you’re such an irresponsible person, I don’t think Mae Ri would be happy with you.”

The childish Moo Gyeol asked, “Do you love Mae Ri or something?”

Jeong In, “I won’t say i don’t.”

Meanwhile, Mae Ri went to the bookstore to ease her troubled mind. She thought she was sitting there all alone, but she’s not. It took her awhile to realize that Jeong In was there, sitting not for away from her. They didn’t talk, just stare at each other. But suddenly Jeong In’s phone vibrated. (yeahh, busy busy Mr.Director   Like if you kill off your phone for awhile the world will fall apart).

It turned out to be an emergency call anyway. His man reported about Kang Moo Gyeol’s missing from work. that man couldn’t be found anywhere.

Moo Gyeol was expressing his emotion through playing guitar like crazy on this particular place. His bandmates tried to calm himdown, but just like an upset child, he pretended not listening anything. Until suddenly someone plug off the wire and everything stopped. It’s Jeong In to confronted Moo Gyeol. However, no matter what Jeong In told this guy, he just wouldn’t listen.

The gang was sorry for Moo Gyeol and Mae Ri had a fight. They’re looking for the way to make them get together again. You know what, if this drama failed to entertain me, not for this people. They always had an amusing way to make me  smile.

The boys called Moo Gyeol, pretending that they’re facing problem: Hyung nim was badly drunk and he said he wanted to quit the band because of the issue (Moo Gyeol quitting from the drama project). He asked Moo Gyeol to come and calm him down. Ji Hye called Mae Ri that So Ra was crazily sad and she needed Mae Ri to come. So Ra made a crazy fake crying-sound.

When Moo Gyeol came to the coffeeshop, it was dim and he found that heart-shape candle decorations. He instantly realized that it was his buddies’ trap. He walked out and found Mae Ri was heading the cafe too. Mae Ri tried to talk, but Moo Gyeol said they’re strangers. He refused to talk any further and just left. I agreed when So Ra yelled at him “You cheap jerk, Kang Moo Gyeol!”

The company was having a workshop prior to the production. They all went to a resort on the mountain and Mae Ri was invited. Jeong Seok had Ms. Yoon sent the wedding invitation to the company so then everyone knew Jeong In was marrying Mae Ri. They started to address Mae Ri as samonim /madame. I hate that word to be applied to a young woman. It felt like you’re 60 and fat and had jewelries in your body…

At first Jeong In and Mae Ri sat in the separate seats. But everyone started to nag why they seemed to be distant to each other while the wedding day was coming. They dragged Jeong In moved to Mae Ri’s seat. Ms. Secretary even took them a picture.

And yes, we had that “Sleeping on your shoulder on the bus” scene. Remember the scene in “Cinderella’s Sister” where that time it was Moon Geun Yeong as Gu Eun Jo who fell asleep on Chon Jeong Myeong’s shoulder. This time she had the scene too…but she’s not the sleeping party.

The sleeping Jeong In’s head fell onto Mae Ri’s shoulder. She tried to keep his head straight back up. But it didn’t take long for the head to be back on her shoulder… :D

While everyone was enjoying the moment at the workshop, Mae Ri looked unhappy. She withdrew herself from the crowd. And at that moment Seo Jun approached her and talk about the love triangle matter.

She said she couldn’t see Mae Ri’s feelings clearly. She said Mae Ri probably neither love Moo Gyeol nor Jeong In. She harshly advised her to make up her mind soon.

So Mae Ri had a walk up to the mountain to clear up her mind. What she didn’t know was Jeong In was in some distance walked behind her. He was worry…as usual.

Mae Ri let out her feelings to the air. She cried out, “I’m sorry Moo Gyeol for giving you so much trouble. I’m sorry…” She broke down and cried. And it’s always Jeong In who was there beside her, calmed her down and said “let’s go.”

Unfortunately they lost their way on their journey back down the resort. Everyone was out looking for them both. None of Mae Ri or Jeong In brought their cellphone, so noone knew what actually happened with them. The worry and regretful Seo Jun called the brooding Moo Gyeol to come up there. Moo Gyeol rushed there and searched for Mae Ri.

Meanwhile, the lost couple were still searching for the right path leading them to back to the resort. Mae Ri said sorry for Jeong In, but he then said, “Maybe it’s the last time I hear you say sorry to me.” And just right after that, Mae Ri tripped her step and Jeong In in reflex protected Mae Ri. The couple rolled down the hill and stopped with Jeong In’s head bumped to the rock. He was unconscious.

Mae Ri cried for help, but of course no one heard her since she’s still far away in the middle of the woods. She couldn’t leave the unconscious Jeong In either. And just the right moment when she’s almost desperate…came Moo Gyeol, overwhelmed by the scene.

Moo Gyeol was desperate. Mae Ri stood by Jeong In’s side because he’s in coma. The company was a mess. Seo Jun worked hard to hold the director of the drama stayed in the company. Everyone worked very hard, except for Moo Gyeol who kept being ignorant and insisted on withdrawing himself from the production.

It took Seo Jun to slap him with harsh-yet-real words to wake him up. “Do you have to do this, Moo Gyeol? You always let the misunderstanding continue and never tried to ask for the truth. You always run away from the problem, instead of looking for the solution. That’s what you did to us. And now, though i hate to say it, I sincerely ask you not to do that to Mae Ri. Stop being childish. Start to grow up, face your problem and set things right.”

It’s been four days Jeong In stayed in his deep sleep. And it’s been that whole time Mae Ri didn’t go from Jeong In’s side. She felt responsible. Jeong In was always so kind to her, but what he got in the end?

Jeong Seok insisted Mae Ri to go home and take a little rest. And when she’s about to go, Moo gyeol had already in the hospital, waiting for her. They sat down and talked. I thought after what Seo Jun had said to him Moo Gyeol would be a little mature. Apparently I was wrong.

In that very moment, that hard situation for Mae Ri, he asked her to choose between him or Jeong In.

What the heck Moo Gyeol?! X|

Mae Ri asked him to wait at least until Jeong In gained his consciousness back. It was definitely not the right moment. How could he be such  inconsiderate? Mae Ri was facing a very difficult question of choosing between Moo Gyeol and Jeong In in that very moment, so it’s no wonder she couldn’t say anything. But Moo Gyeol just jumped into conclusion that Mae Ri was choosing Jeong In.

Someone please…give him a hard slap on the face X|

Marry Me, Mary! Episode 14 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/marry-me-mary-episode-14-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/marry-me-mary-episode-14-summary/#comments Sat, 01 Jan 2011 23:02:07 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=5310 Even though I was so reluctant to watch or write about the last three episodes of “Marry Me, Mary!” I don’t think it’s fair if I have to worsen everything with my lame writing. That’s why I try my best in the remaining episode of my most disappointing drama of 2010. So sorry for being too late.

Let’s just get down to the business.

Moo Gyeol was kidnapped and we must have known who’s behind it. Mae Ri saw the scene and immidiately ran to the nearest police car that just passed by. She asked them to run after the kidnappers. Meanwhile, everyone in the concert set was wondering where Kang Moo Gyeol was because he was gonna be the center point of this concert. However, the police and Mae Ri finally succeeded to make the kidnappers gave up Moo Gyeol. They dumped him in a quite alley.

Moo Gyeol and Mae Ri arrived at the concert in the right moment, just when the audiences were screaming for Kang Moo Gyeol’s name. The concert ran well, despite Moo Gyeol’s injured hand. Everyone was so hysteria when he shouted out loud: “Merry Christmas…saranghanda!! (I love you!!)”

Moo Gyeol was still in a trauma after the kidnap. When he woke up, he found himself in Mae Ri’s room at Jeong In’s house. Jeong In said Moo Gyeol collapsed right after the show. The three finally sat down together to talk about their love triangle issue. They had to stop fooling everyone, in particular the fathers: Wi Dae Han and Jeong Seok. And it didn’t take long…Wi Dae Han surprisingly showed up.

Wi Dae Han might not be the best dad ever, but he surely loved his only daughter. He was furious knowing that the two men had been “sharing” Mae Ri all these times. He even felt so disappointed finding out that Jeong In had Mae Ri lived in his house to get the funding for his drama production. Wi Dae Han soon reported it to Jeong Seok, but this man seemed to be confident that Mae Ri would end up with Jeong In in anyway.

Mae Ri treated Moo Gyeol’s wound back in his place. Mae Ri reminded him that his birthday was coming, then she asked what he wantedd for birthday. The naughty Moo Gyeol said, “Le’st rip off the curtain?”

Jeong In was troubled by the shadow from the past in his dream. The little him saw his parents having argument about another woman. His father defended this woman over his mother and when Jeong  In saw the picture…it was Mae Ri’s mom. So that’s why he looked uncomfortable when he saw Mae Ri’s mom picture in his father wallet.

Oh, I wonder how Kim Jae Wook managed to have such a beautiful pose in his sleep.

His father insisted that Jeong In should marry Mae Ri no matter what. But for the first time in  his life, Jeon In opposed his father. He said that his father had gone to far in Moo Gyeol case and that made him afraid of seeing  Mae Ri in the face.

Moo Gyeol’s mom was telling his son’s fans that the star was her son when she overheard Wi Dae Han talked on the phone to Seok hyung about him had taken care of “the bastard” and the invitation card. When she visitied Moo Gyeol, she told him about it. Moo Gyeol then concluded that the man behind his kidnap scheme was Jeong In’s father.

Moo Gyeol confronted Jeong In about the kidnap and complained about his tight schedule with the photo shootings and interview. Jeong In said though he’s not a model, Moo Gyeol was famous then and it’s good for their drama promotion.

Mae Ri went back home and saw his father was busy with the wedding invitation. She also finally found out that Jeong Seok was the man behind Moo Gyeol kidnap. She then directly asked Jeong Seok not to hurt Moo Gyeol because of her.

Moo Gyeol reluctantly did the photoshooting with Seo Jun. But no matter how busy he was, he always had time to came by his place to see Mae Ri.

Moo Gyeol was in his way for another interview when he stopped by a jewelry store. There he found this small cat locket and recalled the memory when Mae Ri did the “puss in boots” innocent look.

Moo Gyeol was really really famous. His fans was then more than just a bunch of school girls. Manager Fang even tried to persuade him joining her agency with the promise of making him a Hallyu Star who’s more shining than Lee An. Moo Gyeol ignored her. And when he’s out of the tv station, the press had waited for him there.

It was Christmas eve…and also Moo Gyeol’s birthday. Mae Ri cheerfully decorated their place with all th christmas decoaration. Jeong In found his home unusually empty, so he called Mae ri if she’d come home late. Mae Ri said she’s not coming anymore and we could see how Jeong In suppressed his emotion and that made me feel more sorry for him. No one was suppose to be alone on christmas eve…and yet, he’s all by himself.

It was more sad when Jeong In begged Mae Ri to come for the last time and she kept rejecting him. He said Mae Ri should at least had the last dinner together with him. Mae Ri said she couldn’t because it was Moo Gyeol’s birthday and she’s waiting for him. Jeong In said Moo Gyeol had a schedule in a distant ski area so he’d come a bit late. Mae Ri still refused to come. (Ohh,she’s really cruel!!)

And when Jeong In was pittying himself for being alone in christmas eve, Mae Ri finally showed up. They sat together in an awkward situation, and what Mae Ri asked next wasn’t pleasant at all: “Director, please divorce me.”How would you feel if the woman you love asked you to divorce her in a lonely cold Christmas eve??? Poor Jeong In…

Mae Ri was leaving, but Jeong In ran after her and held her from the back! he said let’s stay like this for a while…for the last time. Meanwhile, Moo Gyeol managed to pay for Mae Ri’s engagement ring back and he’s about to give it back to Jeong In when he entered Jeong In’s house and saw that “unpleasant” scene…

From KBS Drama 2010 Awards https://kdramachoa.com/from-kbs-drama-award/ https://kdramachoa.com/from-kbs-drama-award/#respond Sat, 01 Jan 2011 08:45:28 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=5378 Just like SBS and MBC, KBS also held their Drama Award yesterday, December 31st. Many stars were brightly shining that night at the event. “SungKyunKwan Scandal” and “Baker King, Kim Tak Gu” seemed to dominate the award. Well that’s no wonder.  “SungKyunKwan Scandal” had been creating a new histeria among the fans with their famous quartet. While “Baker King, Kim Tak Gu” had touched so many hearts around Korea with its deep meaning story and memorable characters.

Stars at the red carpet.

The host of the event were: Choi Soo Jong, Lee Da Hae, and Song Jung Gi.

One of the most favourite award presenters: Lee Min Ho (even my mom said “that young man looks so handsome”) and the cute Kim So Eun.

Jang Hyeok won the ultimate Award of this Year for his role in “Chuno”.

Teary speech of Moon Geun Yeong who won Most Popular Actress and Best Female where she shared it with senior actress JeongIn Hwa who played as Gu Ma Jun’s mom in “Baker King, Kim Tak Gu.”

Jang Geun Seok, along with the couple from “SungKyunKwan Scandal” Park Yoo Chon and Park Min Yeong as the most popular among netizens.  He also won the best couple with Moon Geun Yeong for their role in “Marry Me, Mary!”. Despite the lame story and low rating, they both are still very popular. “The Geun-Geun” collaboration.

Kim Gap Su won the Best Actor Award for his role in “Cinderella’s Sister” and “SungKyunKwan Scandal”. I like this old man’s acting. Look at how Moon Geun Yeong looked so proud of him.

Park Min Yeong was definitely shining last night. She won about three awards: Best couple with Park Yoo Chon, Netizen, and Excellent Actress.  Her character as Kim Yun Shik/Hee has made her very popular.

Park Yoo Chon was also winning many awards: Best Couple, Netizen, and Best New Comer Actor.

JYJ performance singing the “SungKyunKwan Scandal” original soundtrack. I love their performance. The audience sang along with them.

Han Eun Jeong got the award for her role in “Child Gumiho”.

Song Jung Gi won the Most Popular Actor for his role as Gu Yeong Ha in “SungKyunKwan Scandal”.

And Yoon Shi Yoon, our phenomenal Kim Tak Gu, brought two awards home last night. Among many teary speeches, his speech when he won The Excellent Actor Award for miniserie category was my favourite because he even made Joo Won shed some tears. I guess they both had become two best friends thanks to the drama.

For The Best Writer Award went to Kang Eun Gyeong, the writer of “Baker King, Kim Tak Gu.” I think she really deserved it. Among other KBS 2010 dramas, this drama was the best in story line. Even though there’s still some cliches, the story was developed in a very interesting way and inspired so many people.

Hyun Bin-Ha Ji Won: The Best Chadonam and Ttadonyeo https://kdramachoa.com/hyun-bin-ha-ji-won-the-best-chadonam-and-ttadonyeo/ https://kdramachoa.com/hyun-bin-ha-ji-won-the-best-chadonam-and-ttadonyeo/#comments Sat, 01 Jan 2011 04:17:22 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=5343

Still from a movie site, held a poll on December 27th-30th about chadonam (cool-stuffy-urban guy), chadonyeo (cool-stuffy-urban girl), ttadonam (warm-friendly-urban guy), and ttadonyeo (warm-friendly- urban girl).

And the results, for chadonam with 2602 respondents, first ranked was our kkadonam on Secret Garden, Hyun Bin, who are elected by 49,% votes (1287 respondents). In second place (of course) my sexy-bad- boy in Athena, Cha Seung Won (14.1%, 366 respondents). Then they’re followed by Kim Jae Wook who (actually) used to played well in his dramas or movies! But too bad his recent drama was so plain for me. He managed to be selected by 11.2% votes (292 respondents).

For chadonyeo with 2286 respondents, Chae Jeong Ahn (Queen of Reversals) success to be the ice queen. She gained 38.2% votes (874 respondents). Kim Sa Rang quite successful with her role as ‘chaebol’ princess in Secret Garden, she managed to occupy the second place with 16.1% votes (367 respondents). And for third place on the femme fatale in Athena, Soo Ae, who managed to be selected by 7.1% votes (184 respondents).

Confusing results happen in ttadonam, because Hyun Bin who had been selected as the best chadonam, was elected again as the best ttadonam…hohoho… certainly it’s because he played very well in Secret Garden. With 2497 respondents, Hyun Bin got 49.3% votes (1232 respondents). In the second place our hero in Athena, Jeong Woo Seong (14.4%, 359 respondents), then followed by Park Si Ho (9.1%, 228 respondents). And in fourth place is Cha Seung Won (7%, 175 respondents)…hohoho..I love this result.

For ttadonyeo with 2654 respondents, Ha Ji Won had been at the top with majority votes. Ahe managed to get 51.8% votes (1371 respondents). In second place the lovely double agent, Soo Ae (19.4%, 513 respondents), followed by Oska’s anti-fan in Secret Garden, Kim Sa Rang (9.2%, 243 respondents). And in fourth place was Kim Tae Hee, with her baby face (5.4%, 143 respondents).

I think these results based on the most popular dramas right now. So naturally the names that appear are the casts from Secret Garden, Athena, Queen of Reversals, Marry Me, Mary!. But I wonder something: why Jang Geun Seok didn’t exist in these lists even for the  ttdonyeo or chadonyeo categories? :p

Most Memorable of 2010 Drama https://kdramachoa.com/most-memorable-of-2010-drama/ https://kdramachoa.com/most-memorable-of-2010-drama/#respond Fri, 31 Dec 2010 18:36:11 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=5319 For all the feast, the cheers, the fireworks, and the cold nights…HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!

2010 had been a memorable year for me because I started this blog ;) . Dramas and movies have been giving a big influence in my life because basically I love stories and writing is more than just a hobby for me…I can say that writing IS my life. Korean drama in particular has been my number 1 TV entertainment ever since I was still an innocent girl :p . But I have to admit that “Cinderella’s Sister” was my turning point for two reasons: 1. Moon Geun Yeong’s character, Gu Eun Jo, touched my heart in a complicated way (that I found hard to explain) just like my favourite antagonist-female-leading characters: the ambitious Scarlett O’Hara from the classic “Gone with the Wind” (by Margaret Mitchell) and the avengious Lu Yi Ping from “Yan Yu Meng Meng” or “Romance in the Rain” (by Qiong Yao). 2. This drama was aired during the “complicated” moment of my life. I just came home and watched “Cinderella’s Sister” and a thought just popped up in my head: “Why don’t I start writing something about Korean drama? Why don’t I start it with “Cinderella’s Sister” ?” So I called my bestfriends, asked them to help me, then I sat in front of my laptop and started writing.

Therefore, “Cinderella’s Sister”, despite my disappointment of the drama in the end, is my most memorable drama of 2010.

Gu Eun Jo was memorable because of her strong character and just as the explanation I said earlier.

However, besides “Cinderella’s Sister”, I had some other “Memorable” categories from 2010 dramas:

1. Favourite Come Back: actress Chae Rim in “Oh! My Lady”

I always like Chae Rim ever since “All About Eve.” Though this drama reminded me so much of her 2007’s “Dalja’s Spring”, I just love her come back as Yoo Kae Hwa. It could be Kang Ji Hwan in “Coffee House”, but I like Chae Rim more :p

2. Favourite Gang: the quartet in “SungKyunKwan Scandal”

I really love this drama, the famous quartet are definitely my favourite gang! Better than “Boys Before Flower”. My biggest regret was of course because I didn’t manage to write about it. All the cute nicknames, the love triangle, the unforgetable Gu Yeong Ha, the secret missions, the JYJ’s soundtrack….everything!

3. Favourite Buzzwords: “Na Bu Tae Hee yah Bu Tae Hee..!” [so sorry for Gu Yeong Ha… ;)]

4. Most Amusing Drama(s): I can’t decide between “Secret Agent Miss Oh” and “Secret Garden”

These two dramas never failed to make me laugh…as simple as that.

5. Disturbingly Most Favourite Male Character: Kim Joo Won from “Secret Garden”

I thought it was gonna be Han Do Hoon, but Kim Joo Won character is really…really…I’m speechless

6. Most Lovable Small Screen Actor: Lee Seung Gi

7. Most Lovable Small Screen Actress: Moon Geun Yeong

8. The “Whoaa” Drama: “Baker King, Kim Tak Gu”

I wasn’t interested at all in this drama at first, but it turned out to be quite interesting. However, what made me made a “whoaa” of this drama was its rating that hit 50% something! That’s very much something considering the tough competition in Korean drama industry.

9. The Most Played Drama OST:

I think it should be Cinderella’s Sister’s “The Calling Out”. I dunno why, I just love to listen to it.

10. The Most Disappointing Drama: “Marry Me, Mary!”

I’m still working on the last three episodes. Sorry for being so late. It’s because I was so reluctant to watch them…but I keep on going, no worry.

Marry Me, Mary! Episode 13 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/marry-me-mary-episode-13-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/marry-me-mary-episode-13-summary/#comments Sun, 26 Dec 2010 14:39:57 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=5140 Wi Dae Han found out that his daughter really did move in to Moo Gyeol’s place, but the couple managed to flee. Mae Ri got into her suitcase and Moo Gyeol carried her out. They finally got away.

I thought they’re going somewhere else, but Wi Dae Han found Mae Ri looking a bit unwell on her bed in Jeong In’s house. They’re really fast and Jeong In seemed to cooperate well in this matter. What made me surprise was Moo Gyeol’s presence in Mae Ri’s bedroom. What’s he doing there?

Jeong In assured his father in law that Mae Ri was gonna be okay and he’d take care of her well, Wi Dae Han finally left. Moo Gyeol, without even showing his sincere gratitude, was about to take Mae Ri out again. Jeong In told them that it wasn’t a good idea, so it’d be better for them both to stay in his house.

Inviting your own enemy into your castle??  :? Okay, whatever Jeong In…I’ve lost hope in you anyway.

It was in the middle of the night when Moo Gyeol woke up and felt thirsty. He went to the kitchen, but wasn’t familiar with the high tech stuffs there, so he woke Mae Ri to help him. Mae Ri was giving him a glass of orange juice when Moo Gyeol turned to her direction, and caused the juice spilled on to his body.

The sounds of Mae Ri hand washed Moo Gyeol’s shirt and their chattering woke Jeong In from his nice sleep. He went out his room to take a look and found Mae Ri and Moo Gyeol in the bathroom. Mae Ri explained to him what had happen, and he just looked fine with those things. He just went back to his room.

However, the scene was actually quite upsetting for him that he had to calm himself down first before going to bed. I wasn’t sure whether he upset because of the noisy chattering sounds Mae Ri and Moo Gyeol was making or because of the scene he just saw…or might be both.

Seo Jun agreed to cooperate. She and Moo Gyeol got along with each other quite well in the studio, very professional. However, Moo Gyeol wasn’t content with Seo Jun singing, so he showed her the right way to sing the song.

Jeong In was summoned by his father to set things right. He’d like the couple to proceed to real marriage soon. Jeong In asked his father the real reason behind this arranged marriage, if it had anything to do with Mae Ri’s mother…Jeong Seok just said that he wished to be family with Mae Ri and her father.

During the wedding dress fitting, Jeong In asked Ms. House Manager if she knew any history between his father and Mae Ri’s mother. That lady gave nothing to him but a diplomatic answer.

Mae Ri looked beautiful in her wedding dress, but she obviously wasn’t happy. Again, Jeong In was the one who cheer her up.

They both were talking out side when Moo Gyeol came. He had no idea about the wedding dress fitting, so he was so surprised. The bad temper Moo Gyeol was upset and didn’t even want to listen to Mae Ri’s explanation. I hate seeing Mae Ri had to run after him with that wedding dress in a freezing temperature. Moo Gyeol didn’t even turn back. I really hate this scene: Moo Gyeol’s selfishness, Mae Ri’s stupidity…and it was all completed by Jeong In’s kind heart.

Why should he be the one to save Mae Ri over and over again, but got nothing in return?

Jeong Seok came to Wi Dae Han’s place telling his discontent of his job getting things done. Mae Ri and Moo Gyeol were still together and no one could lie to a mob boss. Jeong Seok warned him to work on it soon, otherwise bad thing would likely to happen.

He talked to Kam Seo Yong to reason with her own kid. As a materialistic woman, Kam Seo Yong understood that her son could give nothing to Mae Ri. So when Mae Ri came to Moo Gyeol’s place and she was there, she asked Mae to stop seeing Moo Gyeol. She said it was a request as Moo Gyeol’s mother. So Mae Ri left the place.

When Moo Gyeol came home and found his mom instead of Mae Ri, he was upset. His mother also told him to stop his relationship with Mae Ri, but Moo Gyeol refused the idea and just left.

Jeong In was drinking alone and Mae Ri saw this. It had been a few days Jeong In was cold at Mae Ri. He avoided conversation or even an accidental meeting. And when Mae Ri was about to help him went to his room, Jeong In tried to let go of himself. He then bursted out all his burden.

This man felt betrayed, lonely…just pathetic. I agree that everyone has a limit for patience, so it’s more than fine if Jeong In felt really upset that night. Mae Ri proceeded helping him to his room, but they tripped and Jeong In fell on Mae Ri. Moo Gyeol came in the right moment to see all that.

He misunderstood the scene and just grabbed Jeong In and hit him hard. Mae Ri stopped him and explained to him what actually happened. Jeong In was deadly drunk, so Moo Gyeol helped him to the bed.

The day of “Wonderful Day” promotional concert was coming. Everyone was busy preparing for this event.

They’re making a video klip. Everyone was there, including Moo Gyeol and the band. Even Lee An finally chose Jeong In over Miss Fang. The shooting was alright until the angry Ms. Fang came to argue with Lee An and it ended with a fight. Lee An accidently hit the giant partition and it fell. Mae Ri was right underneath it, so Moo Gyeol instantly jump in to rescue her.

Moo Gyeol injured his right hand. That’s a bad situation for a guitarist and they’re facing a concert on the next day. Moo Gyeol and Mae Ri went home to get some rest. But look who ambushed them both: Mae Ri’s father!

Moo Gyeol asked for a blessing from Wi Dae Han in a more proper way this time. But that big man just refused him and dragged his daughter back home. He locked Mae Ri in her room.

The day of the concert finally came. The stage was set and everything was ready. Everyone just waited for Moo Gyeol to come.

Moo Gyeol was ready for his concert. Even though his hand was still hurt, the show had to go on. So he left his home, heading to the concert. Everyone was waiting for him, including Jeong In. He checked on Moo Gyeol, and Moo Gyeol said he’s already on his way there.

The locked Mae Ri managed to trick her own father and then rushed to Moo Gyeol’s place.

Three men in black blocked Moo Gyeol’s way and got him into the car. Mae Ri witnessed it all and panic. She cried for a help, but the car just brought Moo Gyeol away…

Frankly, I lost my sympathy to both Moo Gyeol and Mae Ri. I also lost my hope in Jeong In and the writer had been doing an unfair plot for him. Seo Jun gained my sympathy that she had strong reasons for feeling depress and upset with Moo Gyeol. I like the improvement in Lee An’s character.

This drama is so lack of a strong premis, and I think they have to work on it very very soon. The main characters are not dynamic nor growing up, except Seo Jun. I’ve lost my eagerness to watch and summarize this drama. But I’ll keep on going because i have to finish what i have started.

Marry Me, Mary! Episode 12 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/marry-me-mary-episode-12-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/marry-me-mary-episode-12-summary/#comments Sat, 25 Dec 2010 11:00:40 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=5019 Why do i feel disappointed with this drama over again? I found no surprising progress. I think i have enough with it,but i just can’t let it go. We’re already in a half way. Please dear writer, you gotta do something soon…

Seo Jun refused to sing the “Hello Hello” song and just left. That’s how we started this episode.

Mae Ri was sad, but life always goes on for her and Moo Gyeol, right? It was the time for Mae Ri to stay in Moo Gyeol’s place. It was their first night living together. Mae Ri was setting up the couch, when Moo Gyeol saw it and then insisted on sharing the bed instead. They set up a curtain as their border and made the bed into two part.

Jeong In had a heart to heart talk with Seo Jun during lunch. He asked why Seo Jun couldn’t just forget about Moo Gyeol so she worked on this project professionally. Seo Jun then told him about how broke up a year ago. Seo Jun came from a wealthy family. Her parents wanted her to break up with Moo Gyeol and went for an arrange marriage her family had set up. She refused to do that, and they ended up fighting. From then on, Seo Jun’s relationship with her family was never recover.

Moo Gyeol saw the scene when Seo Jun was fighting with her dad. He knew what that was about. So he went out drinking with another girl, and Seo Jun was furious seeing what she saw. Moo Gyeol then said that they’d better end everything right there, and then he really did leave.

Lee An then also came joining the two for lunch. He tried to assure Seo Jun that Miss Fang wasn’t the person behind the scandal. But i hate to found out that it was actually Miss Fang who told Lee An to tell Seo Jun those words. What a bitch.

Moo Gyeol’s mom eventually still in Korea. She went to Wi Dae Han restaurant, saying that she needed a shelter and her life was a mess. She told him that Mae Ri was still visiting Moo Gyeol and she might be moving in.

Wi Dae Han was coming to check on them. They fled, but there’s not much time. An emergency hiding place was needed and a garbage container near by was their only option. Both were stuck in there for quite some minutes. And it was a freezing December. Mae Ri finally decided to call Jeong In for a help. she asked him to just find any reason to make Wi Dae Han gave up Moo Gyeol’s place. And the kind hearted Jeong In did help them. He called Wi Dae Han saying that he’s sending something for him at home. This trick did work.

When they were finally out of the garbage container, they just realized that they’re stinky. Unfortunately, there’s no running water in Moo gyeol’s place. So he had to get the water from another place. However, when he arrived back at home with a bucket of water, Mae Ri was already asleep.

Kam Seo Yeong finally admitted her sin, about the ring, to Wi Dae Han. He agreed to give her shelter and place to work, but she had to retrieve Mae Ri’s ring. They had a written agreement to make it official.

Moo Gyeol and Mae Ri shared that small bed. Mae Ri was already asleep while Moo Gyeol was still having trouble closing his eyes. He peaked at Mae Ri, absorbing the reality that he was sharing bed with her, and then finally went to sleep.

Wi Dae Han – Kam Seo Yeong started to like each other as sharehouse-mates. They got along with each other quite well. Wi Dae Han then told her that he really wished Mae Ri could marry Jeong In, he’s more depandable, while Moo gyeol was not a married type man.

Moo Gyeol and Mae Ri were on their way to Jeong In’s house when they’re almost caught by Wi Dae Han. After the hide and seek situation, Mae Ri managed to outrun her father and be at Jeong In’s house before him. However, she got spanks by her father for all the mistakes she’d done (still in relationship with Moo Gyeol, and lent Kam Seo Yong her ring), but was soon saved by Miss House Manager.

Ms. Fang negotiated with Jeong In about the scandal. She wanted to get rid of Seo Jun from the production. She said it’s not gonna be good for Lee An’s image as a Hallyu Star. But Jeong In was always smarter than her.

Jeong In and Moo Gyeol started to act like real competitors in winning Mae Ri’s attention. Moo Gyeol was on the wheel with Jeong In when he receive a text from Mae Ri. The text was actually not so special, but Moo Gyeol exaggerated it in front of Jeong In.

Jeong In’s turned came not so long after that. The two men were checking on a meeting hall when Mae Ri made a call. She talked about cooking dinner and their plan having dinner with Jeong Ajeossi. It was actually not a very special phonecall, but Jeong In made it as if they’re really intimate. Moo Gyeol was crazyly jealous about it.

Then the score was even for both of them.

During dinner, Jeong Seok found out that Mae Ri was not wearing her ring. When he asked about it, Mae Ri couldn’t answer it well. Thanfully, Jeong In backed her up, so Jeong Seok didn’t ask any further.

The father was handing Jeong In a pair of tickets when Jeong In saw Mae Ri’s mom in his father wallet. It left Jeong In a big curiosity. He asked Mae Ri about how their parents had met. Mae Ri told him that her mom had known Jeong Seok before she met Wi Dae Han.

Mae Ri told her father that Jeong Seok was asking about her ring. Wi Dae Han then asked Kam Seo Yong to get Mae Ri’s ring back immidiately. So she rushed to a cheap jewelry shop to find an immitation for Mae Ri’s ring. She then delivered the ring to Mae Ri in Jeong In’s place and realized that Moo Gyeol might not be the best choice for Mae Ri.

Seo Jun finally agreed to sing the song.

There was an awkward situation in the morning in Jeong In’s house. Mae Ri had just waken up, still in her messy big hair while she accidently ran into the aftershower Jeong In. I was quite surprise as well finding Jeong In that bathrobe and wet hair…I like that hair style more than his usual style!!

The family had dinner together that night. Mae Ri was wearing the immitation ring. At first no one noticed it, but Wi Dae Han finally did. That drew Jeong Seok’s attention and he asked what’s going on. Wi Dae Han had no option but to revealed Mae Ri’s ring. None of the Wi could explain the situation, but Jeong In was once again acted as a back up pretty well. He said he’s the one who bought Mae Ri the immitation because Mae Ri felt uncomfortable wearing the real one. Jeong Seok just bought the story and let this matter drop from conversation.

I hate that Jeong In was still too kind to Mae Ri after what she and Moo Gyeol had done to him. He drove her to Moo Gyeol’s place. Mae Ri and Moo gyeol was about to had a peaceful night together when suddenly they heard a bang on the door.

It was Wi Dae Han coming for both of them…

Marry Me, Mary! Episode 11 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/marry-me-mary-episode-11-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/marry-me-mary-episode-11-summary/#comments Sun, 19 Dec 2010 13:19:45 +0000 http://www.kdramachoa.com/?p=4716 I go against Moo Gyeol’s idea! What the heck he’s talking about? The idea of having Wi Mae Ri living with both of them in turn sounded disrespecting her. Why Mae Ri agreed to do this idea was another big question in my head. However, I found some improvements in this episode and I hope it’s just the sign for a better future…we’re still in the middle of the show, so everything can still happen. Please give us surprises.

Anyway, i’ll go on with the summary.

Jeong In delivered Moo Gyeol’s idea to his father. Well of course in his own words that didn’t involve Moo Gyeol in it. Jeong Seok was more then please with that idea. So they’re having Mae Ri living in Jeong In’s house pretty soon.

Mae Ri told Moo Gyeol about the update. Jeong In agreed to share Mae Ri with him 3 days of the week. These men were really…Mae Ri was not something to “share”!

Jeong In made a proper visit to Mae Ri’s house, asking formal permission from Wi Dae Han, just like any other future-son-in-laws who’s marrying someone’s daughter. Mae Ri also did the formal farewell. They both acted like they’re real soon-to-be-married couple.

Jeong In had the study room changed into Mae Ri’s bedroom. The book collections were still there and I envy Mae Ri for having those in her personal bedroom without any real effort.

It turned out that Jeong In had managed to read probably the whole collection. He sticked a post it note on every first page of the book about his impression of the book and about how he hoped Mae Ri would think about the book. And she wasn’t touched at all??

Moo Gyeol got anxious to hear from Mae Ri. Well, it was his idea but Jeong In was the one who got the “first night”…who didn’t get anxious for that?

Jeong Seok welcomed his dreamed-daughter-in-law cheerfully. He gave a beautiful engagement ring as a present. The diamond was huge! He asked Jeong In to put it in Mae Ri’s finger, as a symbol for their official engagement.

Of course there’s no such a thing as “the first night” for Jeong In and Mae Ri. She did stay up late, but for knitting Moo Gyeol’s  sweater. She knitted it the from dark till the sun rised high up in the sky.

This drama had finally succeeded to bring a smile on my face again. Remember Jeong In’s weird action when he’s planning to leave a note in front of Mae Ri’s room when she stayed over in his father’s house? He did it again here, but it’s not a note this time.

He did a weird action preparing the table for both of them having breakfast together. He prepared the meal and everything. It’s quite funny to see our super cool tae pyo nim practiced his romantic-to-be phrases with Mae Ri watching his silly action from behind. And yes, she got him again this time.

Moo Gyeol had agreed to work on the drama soundtrack again, and he’s quite the man of his words. The situation was a bit awkward, but these rivals tried to be professionals.

Mae Ri enthusiastically went to Moo Gyeol’s place on the second day. She met Moo Gyeol’s mom there. Accidently, the badly-need-money Ms. Kam saw Mae Ri’s fancy ring. I smelled a fishy thing when she asked for borrowing the ring for awhile, but unfortunately the innocent Mae Ri just let her took it. So Kam Seo Yeong rushed out to pay her debt. What a bitch.

Mae Ri’s plan of staying in Moo gyeol’s place had to put on a hold because her father said he’d stop by the house. So Mae Ri rushed back to Jeong In’s house and pretended to be a devoted fiancee.

Meanwhile, Moo Gyeol found out that her mom used Mae Ri’s ring to pay for her debt and freedom to go to Paris. Moo Gyeol got furious. He even said he wished for his mom to go away and never come back for good. The upset Moo Gyeol then called Mae Ri for a meeting.

He went for Mae Ri outside Jeong In’s house. This upset man scolded Mae Ri for showing off and let his mom just took the ring. Mae Ri defended herself, but Moo Gyeol said the words “Break up.” You know what, i think i’ve had enough of this man. He is selfish, bad temprament, and very easy to say the taboo word of “break up”. Really not an ideal partner in real life.

Moo gyeol went back to his place and found a present in the fridge. It’s the sweater! In sad mood he wore it and went to the skate rink alone…

Mae Ri waited for his dad to fall asleep before going to Moo Gyeol’s place. But when she got there, she found no one. Seeing the empty present box, Mae Ri recalled Moo Gyeol’s wish to go skating wearing his girlfriend-made sweater. She soon joined him on the ice.

Meanwhile, Lee An found Seo Jun’s hiding. He asked her to stop playing hide and seek with everyone. Seo Jun said she wished to be found by someone, but that person was definitely not him. Manager Fang joined them and scolded Seo Jun. Seo Jun accused Ms. Fang as the brain behind her scandal. The bitch denied, but Seo Jun splashed the water onto her face. She got angry and started a physical fight with Seo Jun. She ended up being the one whose head got bumped on to the wall and bled.

So it was Moo Gyeol’s birthday and the pack made him a surprise. They did silly things when they’re together, but Moo Gyeol and Mae Ri managed to find their way out. They spent the night together outside at a park. Moo Gyeol said he had a song for Mae Ri, but he still sang it with “nananana nanana…” because he had not had the lyric yet. He asked Mae Ri to write it for their love song.

The next morning Mae Ri rushed back to Jeong In’s house. after dealing with her father, she started writing the lyric right away. She’s determined in writing matters…

On the other hand, Moo Gyeol got a phonecall from someone who asked him to pick up Seo Jun in the club. She was deadly drunk. Moo gyeol brought her to her house, and he advised her to at least pay her gratitude to Jeong In instead of disappearing from the surface and got drunk while everyone in the company was working deadly hard.

So that morning everyone stepped into the company one by one…and they finally, incidently, met in the lobby. Mae Ri came from the same side as Jeong In, while Moo Gyeol came right behind Seo Jun. Voilla! This bizzare love quadrangle was gonna work together again.  :o

Seo Jun was ready to sing Moo Gyeol’s song in the studio. Jeong In and Mae Ri were present. They seemed to get along with each other well and very professional…

…until Seo Jun saw the names written on the paper and realized that the song she was about to sing was actually Moo Gyeol and Mae Ri’s love song. She quit.

And instantly bursted out her anger to everyone.

Moo Gyeol said, “Aren’t you an artist? Shouldn’t an artist be professional?”

Hey dude, an artist also has a heart. She’s not in her best mood and she had to face this and you asked her to take it easy? I could get why she’s angry….

I’m so sorry if i’ve been very emotional in this episode. But Moo Gyeol character was just a pin in the ass for me so I couldn’t hold it. :D hope the next episode will be more interesting and better story line…
