Park Se Yeong – Korean Drama Choa https://kdramachoa.com Liking Korean Drama, Music, and Movie Mon, 03 Dec 2012 16:33:27 +0000 en-US hourly 1 School 2013 Episode 1 Quick Summary https://kdramachoa.com/school-2013-episode-1-quick-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/school-2013-episode-1-quick-summary/#comments Mon, 03 Dec 2012 16:33:26 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=26071 School 2013 started with  a delivery boy on his two wheels heading to a tutorial place, our High Kick boy. The tutorial place is a famous one, with the most famous tutorial teacher in town: Kang Se Chan. The boy acted indifferent, delivering a cake to one of the students in Se Chan’s class. He even refused when Se Chan offered him his famous practice book, “I don’t need that.” Se Chan might be famous and successful as a tutorial teacher, but he seemed to be a lonely person…no one even cared for his birthday. That cake was not for him, it’s for one of the students who also was celebrating a birthday.

This delivery boy, Go Nam Soo, comes  from a low-middle class family. He’s girls’ favorite, indifferent  character, but the cold type…he’s indifferent because he’s the type who avoid conflict with others…not really avoiding contact. That morning at school, the three badass students with its leader, Oh Jong Ho, tried to bully him. But no one really touched him. Jong Ho just tried to make him sip a cigarette, but Nam Soo decided to just leave…avoiding conflict. But there’s where the conflict of this first episode started.

This drama is the soft version of Japanese dorama Gokusen. The new homeroom teacher for classroom 2-2 is not a yakuza grand daughter just like in Gokusen, but a normal pretty female teacher, Jeong In Jae. This classroom was a mess. The students are nightmares for every teacher. Go Nam Soo and Oh Jong Ho were in this class. Aside from them, there’s the pretty Seong Ha Kyeong, who seemed to have a complicated relationship with Nam Soo, not clear yet who’s chasing for whom. But the complication was not that serious, they just don’t get along with each other well.

The cigarette smoking moment was caught in camera and the headmaster got them. Both Nam Soo and Jong Ho were summoned for investigation. They both didn’t admit anything, but too bad evidences were obvious. This problem was handled by a disciplinary teacher and it made In Jae felt the urge to defend her students. She made a brave action saying that she would take care of her students well so that male teacher should hand them over to her…she didn’t know the headmaster and her secretary were there. But it worked. They let go Jong Ho and Nam Soo.

Nam Soo and Jong Ho were like arch villains. Jong Ho was picking up a nerdy student demanding for money in the class. The three used violence. One of them was slapping that nerdy when suddenly Nam Soo threw a book to him. And in his cool gesture, he just got up his chair and asked if anyone saw his book. He got the book and then back to his seat. Jong Ho tend to just let him go.

In the class, other students were okay during the class…they paid a little attention to In Jae. But Jong Ho, not at all. At first he slept. In Jae asked his friend to wake him up. But then he just busy with his phone instead. In Jae was going to take it from him, but Jong Ho was really angry…like violence angry. And no one dare to help their teacher. Nam Soo just hesitated.

In Jae was shock. So shock. Jong Ho was that scary. And this incident didn’t stop there. At the canteen where In Jae was in charge for the supervision that time, Jong Ho made a scene again. They caught in a fight after In Jae tried to make him and his buddies to queue just like other students. Jong Ho pissed off again, but In Jae didn’t step back this time. She slapped him. And the scary Jong Ho became much angrier. He’s about to hit In Jae back, but this time, Nam Soo came to give a help. Thankfully the Teacher Uhm came to prevent any fight.

Through a class vote and Jong Ho’s last voice, Nam Soo was elected as class president.

And Ha Kyeong the secretary. Ha Kyeong acted bossy to Nam Soo, and he just like to avoid conflict.

The school was having a school entrance presentation. In Jae asked her class not to make any scene because they would have many guests.

Se Chan was invited to Seung Ri school to attend that event. When he got there, he and In Jae were looking at the same mirror, checking their appearance. Se Chan mistook In Jae as one of the students. While Se Chan, who had no idea how famous Se Chan was, mistook Se Chan as one of the fathers of the coming students.

Meanwhile in classroom 2-2, Jong Ho was picking up the nerdy student again, asking for money. Nam Soo who was actually with the nerdy, told him to go away and face Jong Ho himself. He asked Jong Ho to stop it right then. Jong Ho’s bad anger management was really bad, so he got pissed off again. He started to bully Nam Soo but Nam Soo didn’t fight back nor defended himself. He received a push, a slap…but until one very hard push that he fell hard to the chairs. Nam Soo’s patient limit finished there. He grabbed a chair.

In a nearby toilet, Se Chang suddenly heard a scream of male student. He ran to the scream source right away. Meanwhile downstairs, the headmaster was having a school tour for the guests when suddenly, a chair flew off the window. Nam Soo’s face was seen by the window. Teacher Uhm and In Jae ran to the classroom and found only Nam Soo in there.

Faith Episode 2 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/faith-episode-2-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/faith-episode-2-summary/#comments Wed, 15 Aug 2012 06:52:17 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=24391 The King decided to wait for Choi Yeong and it didn’t took long when suddenly the heaven’s gate showed a sign of a arrival. Choi Yeong went back with Eun Soo.

Choi Yeong brought her to the injured queen. She still thought that Choi Yeong brought her to a movie set. She insisted them to just call 120 while she’s still trying to go. But as the warriors gave her the stern look and Choi Yeong reminded her of the real situation, Eun Soo had no other choice. She immediately got down to her work, treating the Queen’s wound with a help from Jang Bin. The surgery last quite long that it finished when Yeong just woke up from his nap.

After the surgery Eun Soo thought she could leave. But the king needed her still. His country is at a stake as long as the queen is not recover yet. Eun Soo was so desperate about her situation.

Here we finally see the antagonist of this drama. The character’s name was Ki Jeol. He’s planning something with the kingdom.

Still in the inn, Eun Soo still thought that she’s somewhere in modern Korea. One of the queen’s lady guard helped her run away. She walked with her modern appearance in GOryo era village. She got everyone’s attention. People were staring at her and they didn’t hesitate to touch her dress and her shoes. She asked people how to get to Coex and when they couldn’t respond her, she wondered if those people were not Korea that she tried English and Chinese to speak with them. She’s looking for a taxi or at least a spot to get any signal for her mobile.

Eun Soo knew one of Yeong’s man was following her and she tried to hide from him. The guard who followed her reported the situation to Yeong, so had to get down to this work himself. Eun Soo was wandering the area, but all she could find was only village after village. Unfortunately, she encountered some bandits before Yeong could find her. They hurt her and took her somewhere.Yeong and his man knew something bad had happened to Eun Soo.

After getting the information about the bandits, Yeong and his man went into their basecamp to rescue Eun Soo. But instead of finding out where those bad guys were keeping Eun Soo, Yeong found out that those guys were attacking the inn. And yes, some bad guys were already on the roof of the building. Yeong and his man arrived on time. The remaining soldiers were fighting the attackers, but what they didn’t know was the queen’s lady guard was actually a close enemy. When the King and the queen who was carried by JAng Bin were trying to escape, the lady guard led JAng Bin and the Queen to the other way. Jang Bin put the Queen and left her with the lady guard to fight some attackers who were after them. The lady guard was ready to stab the Queen with her dagger, but Yeong came in the right time. He hit her with the modern police shield he brought when he came with Eun Soo.

In the palace, Ki Jeon’s men were doing something bad to the palace officials.

After making sure that the King was safe, Yeong and his man was back to the bandit’s basecamp to rescue Eun Soo. He sensed that Eun Soo was still there, but they couldn’t find her. Yeong was kind of frustrated and he suddenly freeze and his strange body was trying to hold an exploded electricity. At that moment, they suddenly heard a strange cute voice from the attic, shouting out for a recharge. The voice was from Eun Soo’s low-battery mobile. The bandit had no idea how to make that thing stop shouting.Yeong finally found her. Eun Soo was still trying to run away and it made Yeong had to carry her.

She brought her to the dimension gate. He let her go and Eun Soo was ready to go home. But when she’s about to step into that gate, the royal counselor came with a group of royal guards, ordering Yeong to take her back. This order offended Yeong that as a warrior he had to keep his words, but this order came directly from the King. Yeong hesitated, but then he decided to hold Eun Soo until the dimension gate fade away and finally disappeared. Yeong was upset about it.

Eun Soo was angry, protesting to Yeong that he didn’t keep his promise. She took Yeong’s sword and pointed it towards him. Surprisingly, Yeong intentionally drew himself towards his sword and let it stab through his body. He even push it harder that the sword went all the way through the back of his body. Eun Soo was panic so. “Why why are you doing this? Why? How could you…”

In the inn, the Queen blamed the King for his order. She said that the King should have known for a Goryo Warrior, keeping a promise was a sacred thing. If a Goryo warrior couldn’t keep his promise, he would give away his life.

Back to the overwhelming scene, Eun Soo insisted to treat Yeong’s injury. She ignored the coundelor and the guards were also helping Eun Soo. Yeong told the guards to just go as the counselor told them, but Eun Soo screamed out, “I can’t go!” The counselor did what he thought the best thing to do: he pulled the sword. Eun Soo was more panic because Yeong’s bleeding got worsen. She order for surgery preparation.

Yeong’s man ran to the inn to get Eun Soo’s medical stuffs. The King prevented him to safe Yeong’s life, but that young guard begged the king to let the doctor safe their chief and he could take his life instead. Then the Queen spoke out. She gave her order to safe Yeong.

On their way back to the inn, Yeong asked Eun Soo to just let him die. Eun Soo refused to do that because Yeong was the one who kidnapped her and the one who knew how to get her back to her world. And of course, because she’s a doctor.

The surgery took place in the inn, but Eun Soo didn’t have all the things she needed for the surgery. She asked for Jang Bin’s cooperation.
Meanwhile the King tried to make clear about his authority over his Queen. He kind of ask her to consult to him before making any important order.

Back to the surgery scene, Eun Soo and Jang Bin were arguing about the best method to undergo the surgery for Yeong’s case. JAng Bin was hard to accept Eun Soo’s modern method. But Eun Soo had a high confidence of what she’s about to do. Eun Soo asked Jang Bin to believe her. “Because i’m the healer sent from heaven,” she said.

Faith Episode 1 Summary https://kdramachoa.com/faith-episode-1-summary/ https://kdramachoa.com/faith-episode-1-summary/#comments Tue, 14 Aug 2012 04:22:58 +0000 http://kdramachoa.com/?p=24344 Drama Faith episode 1 started with an animation illustration telling the background history of what happened during that one period in Goryo dynasty.

Somewhere in Goryo era, a group of royal special force was guarding two special carriages: the King and the Queen. They’re heading accross the river, but unfortunately the boat which they’re supposed to take wasn’t there. So the guard, with their sexy chief warrior (oh my God, Lee Min Ho is so sexy with that cloak!), Choi Yeong, decided to take over an inn to let their king and queen stay overnight there. The issue with the king and queen was, their relationship isn’t that good.

The King seemed to resent his wife, sort of ugly political marriage. In the inn, the King spent his time in separate room drawing a horse. Choi Yeong said he didn’t care how’s the king relationship with the Queen, but he had to let the Queen in the same room with him for safety reason. The King let her in. So the room that night was actually crowded: the King, the counselor, Choi Yeong, a handsome royal doctor Jang Bin, and the queen complete with her private bodyguards. They’re all in alert situation.

When night became late, suddenly the inn was attacked by some vicious warriors who tried to kill the king and the queen. The special guards sprayed the attackers a special paint that glows in the dark. So when they were fighting the attackers downstairs, the scene was cool. The attackers were glowing in the dark, as well as their sword…reminded us on “Star Wars” sword.

Anyway, Choi Yeong was the royal guard’s last shield in the king’s room. The king’s group was outnumbered. The counselor got a dagger from Choi Yeong to defend himself, but when the attackers attacked their room he could only hid himself. Meanwhile Jang Bin and the Queen bodyguards fought along Choi Yeong against the attackers. Unfortunately, the Queen’s position was too open when her bodyguards were fighting and one attacker injured her on the neck.

Choi Yeong killed the last attackers and Jang Bin immediately did his job to treat the Queen’s cut on the neck. He used accupunture needles to stop the bleeding and he needed Choi Yeong’s “power”. So this chief warrior was not only the best in physical fighting, he also got another thing for his enemy to be afraid of: his hand could produce electricity. Jang Bin asked him to distribute some electricity to the needles.

Eventhough it’s a bad marriage, the King couldn’t let the Queen died. “If she died, the kingdom would die too,” he said. This new king seemed to still have so many things to learn to become a king, but he’s trying his best. In order to save the Queen, the King asked Choi Yeong to find a healer, a doctor, to save the Queen. And the counselor had prepared a worship altar. Beneath the altar was a kind of black hole with mysterious energy which was a kind of gate to another world. Choi Yeong should travel through that gate to bring a doctor to save the Queen.

Choi Yeong walked pass it and arrived in a temple beneath a Buddha statue. Unlike Joseon’s confusionism, Goryo was a typical Buddhist kingdom. After paying respect to the Buddha, Choi Yeong started to walk to start his searching for the best doctor to be taken to Goryo. It’s a temple somewhere in Gangnam, in modern Seoul. There were actually a couple who witnessed the moment Choi Yeong arrived there and they just couldn’t believe what they just saw.

Choi Yeong also couldn’t believe what he saw: a foreign world where so many skyscrapers in Seoul’s night skyline. Then he asked an old monk, who was very modern with his smart phone listening to probably a music or something. Choi Yeong asked him where he could find a healer. The monk was confused, but got the idea that the strange man with strange costume was looking for a doctor. “You could find them in near by general practice clinic, dental clinic, other clinic. Depends on what illness.” Then Choi Yeong explained he needed a doctor to heal a wound in a body. The monk said he could find a clinic around Gangnam. “How could I get there?” asked Choi Yeong. “You could just go there,” said the monk flatly. Choi Yeong was confused but he’s a warrior, so he took the monk’s suggestion to “just go there.” The monk thought Choi Yeong was an actor from a classical movie.

Choi Yeong was overwhelmed by the modern Seoul, with cars and many people took pictures of him with their smart phones. But Choi Yeong kept walking until he got into a medical exhibition. He looked around and then came into a confrence room where an attractive plastic surgeon was explaining about face lift. The beautiful doctor’s name was Yoo Eun Soo.

Choi Yeong with her strange costume and long sword arrested by the guards and kept in the security room. But he was so determine to meet Yoo Eun Soo. He saw her on the cctv and insisted on going there. Since the guards tried to give him a “lesson”, Choi Yeong swung his sword and cut the guards stick in a second. The guards freaked out and called a police. Choi Yeong walked out of the room to search for Eun Soo.

He finally found her when Eun Soo was looking for a surgery glasses in a stand. Yeong asked Eun Soo how to heal the Queen’s wound, but the indifferent Eun Soo just responded him coldly. But Yeong insisted and Eun Soo said, “How could I know how to tell you if I’m not seeing the wound itself.” Then Choi Yeong got the guard who’s been trying to arrest him and made the same cut on the neck just like what happen to the Queen. Everyone freaked out more. The swat team was summoned and immediately on their way. Eun Soo had no choice but to show Yeong how to heal the cut. She performed a small surgery in a help of the product seller.

After seeing what Eun Soo had done, Yeong was sure that she’s the healer he’s looking for. So he grabbed her away. When they’re on their way out of the building, the police locked and surrounded the whole building. But Yeong, with his powerful hand, hit the policemen with his thunder power and managed to run away to the temple. Eun Soo begged him to release her, but Yeong tried to convince her that he would send her back after she helped him to save the queen. He told her that as a warrior, he would keep his words.

The scene was back to 10 days before the “kidnapping” event. Eun Soo was in a fortune teller, desperate to find out when and how she would meet a wealthy man, specifically a very rich man, not any ordinary man.

Her experience with men wasn’t great. Her dream man during her early career as doctor was a man (Ahn Jae Wook) who’s looking for a wealthy woman and he didn’t like Eun Soo at all. The next man was Eun Soo’s patient who proposed her but she didn’t like him. So Eun Soo needed a very wealthy man, but actually not for real marriage. She needed him for his money for her business. The fortune teller didn’t give her a sufficient foretell about the future man to come into her life, just someone that the heaven would send to her.

And then the scene changed into the Goryo era, 7 years prior to the event. The royal special guards were talking about their new chief warrior, was actually a legend in a great fighting. One of the warriors wondered how old was this guy. And then suddenly came a young guy with easy going personality, making a fuss and spend the day just sleeping in the head quarter. Everyone wondered if that guy was really their new chief warrior. When one of the warriors was trying to attack that guy, Yeong who’s still sleeping just threw his stick towards that warrior and hit his forehead. That warrior found his forehead bleeding. Yeong was smiling in his sleep.

I kind of like the fact that this drama is more fantasy, a bit felt like watching Naruto :D . With those animation illustrations…cool. We’re very familiar with time traveling story line…from “Rooftop Prince” to “Dr.Jin”, so there’s nothing new about it and it’s good this drama didn’t linger too long for that scene. Well, generally, my first impression for this drama is good. If i can pick one word to express this, I would say: Cool. I don’t know how to express the “cool”-ness of this drama, but I just feel that way.
