Baker King, Kim Tak Gu Episode 20 Summary
Sorry for being a bit late for this summary I don’t really like this one…
Yu Gyeong finally decided to go to Majun’s arms in the name of revenge. She even let Majun kissed her. I actually hated Yu Gyeong’s abrupt decision. I’m pretty optimistic she’s gonna regret it really soon, it’s just unfair for Tak Gu. However, I could see a sincerity in Majun’s feeling to protect Yu Gyeong.
And Misun was caught in the middle as always…
While the situation outside was pretty tense, Tak Gu was so focus on his experiment in bread. He succeeded to find a subtitute ingredient for yeast,,just almost. Misun, in a very awkward feeling after witnessing Majun-Yu Gyeong’s affair, was asked by Tak Gu to taste the bread. She said there’s still something wrong with it.
Meanwhile, after talking to Kim Misun on the phone, Director Gu went out of the office in a rush. He insisted on going by himself. And the evil Mr. Han had a terrible plan for him: death. Director Gu’s car jumped out of the street and his condition was bad. But thankfully the bad guys didn’t check his vessel and Kim Misun’s private doctor had been tailing him since he’s leaving the office. So I was quite sure he’d be fine…
The apathetic Majun didn’t believe Tak Gu’s sincerity when Tak Gu said he liked making bread with him (Majun). I think for all his life, Majun had seen the world negatively. So having a very innocent and positive thinking person around, like Tak Gu, for him might be as fake as his own world.
The angrier Majun the more he wanted to make a real action with the poisonous herb. The herb could make Tak Gu lost his sense in taste and smell. But I like the idea of Jin Gu as Tak Gu’s silent guardian angel. Just in the right moment, he spotted Majun holding the poison.
Madame Seo had not been informed about Director Gu’s real condition. Her face was full of angst. I think no matter how much she hated her husband or wanted to see him down, deep inside her heart she loved him. Mr. Han lied to her about her husband’s whereabout, but she’s no way a fool. She said she let it be for a while and let herself be fooled.
What they both didn’t know was Director Gu was saved by Kim Misun’s private doctor and brought into the secret mansion…it seemed that his condition was not really good.
Majun might have a huge anger for Tak Gu, but Yu Gyeong was right, he’s such a coward. No matter how often he took out the poison, he never had a gut to pour it into Tak Gu’s water. And Jin Gu smelled a fishy thing, so quietly he kept his eyes on this troubled young man. And Majun ended up doing nothing with the poison.
However, Majun never ran out of evil plans. This time he invited Tak Gu into a family meeting, but didn’t say the truth to him. Majun just said that he wanted to have lunch with him in a certain place he had given the address to Tak Gu. Tak Gu really had no idea what kind of scene he’s gonna face…
Yu Gyeong dressed well, thanks to Majun’s credit card and VIP service on the department store…she looked gorgeous and even the hypocrite Majun couldn’t hide his feeling. I always know that it was a big lie whenever he told Yu Gyeong that he had no real feeling to her and just let her use him for a win-win benefit in term of revenge. Ha! He finally made that smile… Such a hypocrite.
Yu Gyeong’s presence was quite a scene for the rest of the family, but Majun still had another surprise for everyone. Tak Gu came and the only thing he could do just dropping his jaw. He was set up. Madame Seo was definitely freaked out, so she’s the first to out of the room. Majun really did it. He’s messing with his own mother and he’s the only person on earth who could do that to the vicious Madame Seo.
Everyone might be wondering about Majun’s action. The question “why he hated his mother so much?” must be rised into the surface. And I think the best guess would be Majun hated his mom for making Mr. Han as his biological father instead of Director Gu. I guessed since long ago Majun had known that he’s not Director Gu’s blood. And that’s why he hated his mother quite very much.
The big sister finally told Madame Seo what actually happened to her father. Madame Seo then confronted Mr. Han for his out-of-the-line action. I guess this man was a terrible fool. I mean, how could he believe that Madame Seo’s feeling for him was real?? This woman just use him and I think he’s supposed to know that
I don’t know whether the reunion between Director Gu and Tak Gu’s mom supposed to be romantic or not. But this scene for me was just quite so so. I don’t like Kim Misun’s flat expression, while Director Gu ran a stream of tears. After his reunion with Tak Gu in the previous episode, I think Director Gu’s character was getting warmer. He used to be a robotic-expressionless man, but then he knew how to cry himself out well, how to express his feeling through words and knew how to hug the ones he missed so much.
The love triangle felt awkward. Tak Gu became the one who was shock the most. He couldn’t believe what he’s seeing, especially the fact that Yu Gyeong was going out with Majun and only said “I’m sorry, Tak Gu.” It hurt so bad for Tak Gu, I bet. So I thought it’s in its proportion for the soft-hearted Tak Gu to cry
Even though Yu Gyeong was taking (the wrong) side, she knew what she’d done was wrong. But there’s no turning back for her and this’s what I called stupid. She let her hatred won over her love…
Arriving back at Palbong Bakery Majun found out that everybody was talking about his mysterious herb. One of the seniors almost drank it, but Majun came in the right time. He had left his bottle in his pocket and he seemed to forget to take it out before sending the uniform to the laundry.
Went up to his room he found a brand new cassette player he’d been searching all day. It turned out to be accidently broken by Tak Gu. He then used his saving money to buy Majun the new one and Misun who knew all these felt desperate to tell both men the truth they needed to know.
See this expression below. I think Majun was somehow touched and finally realized that Tak Gu was no kidding at all when saying he’s gonna treat him like a brother, especially after hearing Misun explained about the saving money Tak Gu had used to buy the player.
Majun only said (to the unpresent Tak Gu): “You idiot.”
And what about Tak Gu? It was a terrible heartbreak for him. At first he tried to shrug everything off by focusing himself on the experiment. But it’s just too distracting for him. No one in the bakery knew what happened to him until the time when everybody was ready in the kitchen, they found him unconscious on the floor. The seniors rushed him to his room. Misun and her mom took care of him.
However, while Jin Gu rushed out to the drugstore, the very creative Misun’s mom thought that Majun’s herb might be good for first aid. Majun, hearing this possible idea, ran out from the kicthen all the way to his room to avoid Misun and her mom giving Tak Gu the poison…but too bad, he was too late. There’s nothing he could do to stop it. Misun had made Tak Gu drank a spoon of it.
So we’ll have the numb Tak Gu soon. Losing his sense in taste and especially his sense in smell would be a hell-like situation for Tak Gu. He’d lost his girl…and he had to lose his only great talent in sensing smell??
Seeing the above expression of Majun made me sure this man wasn’t as evil as people thought of him. Like i’ve said before, the angry and full of revenge Majun is the part of him that never grow up. He used to be a spoiled kid who had been through a terrible heartbreak…and those wounds seemed to freeze in time a little part of his mind.
I just can’t wait to write the next episode…
