The Rating May Say So for “Baker King, Kim Tak Gu”

Well, people were talking about “Baker King, Kim Tak Gu” reach the top tv rating on its first airing. Hmm, i’m not sure if i’m interested to see this drama. I don’t think it offers us a brand new story line…

So, there’s this rich businessman, he ran a food company. His name was Gu Il Jung. He had a wife whom hadn’t given him any son yet and that seemed to make Mr. Gu’s mother ‘dissatisfied’ of her daughter in law. The wife’s name was Seo In Suk. This conflict resulted Mr. Gu made affair with his daughter’s nanny named Kim Mi Sun. But just like other dramas we know, no surprise that the story continued with Mi Sun’s pregnancy and Mr. Gu’s irresposibility action. The idea of having an unwanted illegitimate heir was very unlikely. So, Mi Sun was kicked out of the house and told to abort the kid. Then the kid, as you might have guessed was none other than Kim Tak Gu.

In Suk on the other hand, decided to play dirty as well. She slept with another man and then finally bore a child of that man, but raised the kid as Mr. Gu’s son. This kid was Gu Ma Jun. And as for Tak Gu’s life was just of course the opposite of Ma Jun’s life. The little Tak Gu even had to steal for breads from a factory that owned by none other than his own father. But yes, of course, it’s drama. When the father and son met each other for the first time, you won’t expect a touching reunion hug will you?

Therefore, i’m not sure if i’m gonna watch this drama…But you may have another opinion, of course.
