Bridal Mask (Gaksital) Episode 14 Quick Summary

Gaksital finally showed up in the party as we could see at the ending of episode 13. He was involved in a duel fight with Kimura Taro, but Gaksital could take over the control. He even tore the giant Japanese flag with Mr.Kimura’s sword.

Then he had the sword on Mr.Kimura’s neck. Shonji came back to the scene and ready to shoot Gaksital. “Father, today I will get that bastard,” said Shonji. but both he and Mr.Kimura was hit down by Gaksital. Then Gaksital was planning to flee, but Hong Joo’s bodyguard, Jun, stepped in and fought him with his sword. He managed to scratch Gaksital’s left hand and it gave Shonji time to be back on his feet. He was sure he could get Gaksital this time. But Baek Geon was on action. His part was to cut down the electricity.
When Gaksital was cornered by everyone, the light went out. Gaksital managed to run away.

 

In this chaotic situation, Dam Sari’s woman partner threw the granade to the party venue and boom! Mok Dan and her friends were cheering.

Gaksital still found problems of getting out the big building. He came across Jun again on the way and they fought. Gaksital’s wounded hand slowed down his movement. Thankfully the freedom fighter woman was near by and she used her hair pin like a shuriken to hit Joon. Gaksital and she finally succeeded to go away from that building.

 

When the light was back, everything in the party venue was totally a mess. Many police officers injured. KAng To pretended to be one of them (he took care of his injured before came back to the hall). Shonji woke up and straightly panicking for Gaksital. He looked like he lost his mind that he even tortured the first officer reported the situation to him. Kang To tried to pulled him away, but Shonji struggled that he hit Kang To’s wound. Because his injury was worse, Kang To asked a permission to go to start searching for Gaksital. Kang To’s bleeding was so bad and he’s almost caught by Shonji. But thankfully Shonji didn’t see the dripping blood on Kang To’s hand.

 

Even though the damage was bad and many people were injured, most people survived. The Police Chief was injured and felt so humiliated with the incident. He got Mr.Kimura to be responsible for it. Because of that, Konno was gladly took off Taro’s rank emblem.

Mr.Kimura really lose his job. At home, Mr.Kimura discussed with Shonji about his suspicion on Dam Sari and Kang To worked together.

Kang To visited Lee’s mansion to tell them what happened with Mr.Kimura and they’re asked to give testimony about DAm SAri. The couple insisted that they’re also victims. He told them to keep a secret that he had told them the police’s plan before the party.
In the same time, Shonji also came to Lee’s mansion. The couple helped Kang To hiding.

Shonji asked to speak privately with Kang To. He still asked Kang To where he was during Dam SAri’s (false) ambush to the hospital. Shonji didn’t push him, but he had lost his trust to Kang To. He brought Kang To along to Dam SAri’s “interrogation” –more of a torture, actually. Shonji was testing him. He wanted to see how Kang To undergo the interrogation to Dam Sari.

It’s actually a reunion for Kang To and Dam Sari. Kang To had the without-violence type of interrogation this time. Shonji watched him close. “Because of you, your daughter had a difficult life, so that’s what a father could do for his daughter,” Kang To started the interrogation. He said his late brother used to be a freedom fighter too but ended up being an idiot. Then to Kang To’s surprise, Shonji ordered to give Dam Sari a very harsh tortured. Kang To was against Shonji in this. “You cannot do this. He would die.” Shonji thought he’s close to prove that Kang To was helping Dam Sari. But Kang To reminded him that catching Gaksital is the main goal above everything. If Dam Sari dead they’re effort to catch Gaksital would result nothing. “Can you please trust me in this?” asked Kang To. This confused Shonji.

 

Mok DAn and the freedom fighters visited the circus leader. They’re discussing what they should do next.

Shonji visited the circus while they’re having a meeting. He asked the circus leader to come with him. Kang To stayed in Dam Sari’s interrogation room. Kang To asked Dam Sari why they fought for the freedom if they knew that the colonial government was too powerful to fight againts. He said people like him (Dam Sari) and his brother, and in his heart KAng To also said “like me too”, fought for something that beyond them that it only resulted loss in everything.  Dam Sari said that the day would come when they would get a victory over the Japanese colonial.

Then Shonji brought the circus leader into Dam sari’s interrogation dungeon. “Gaksital, who’s he? Where’s he?” asked Shonji to Dam Sari. The convict said he had no idea. Kang To was ordered to put Dam Sari back to the jail. Kang To smelled something weird. In the jail, Goiso locked Dam Sari’s legs and he kept the keys for himself. So Shonji’s plan was to get the circus leader to be interrogated. Shonji forced the circus leader to tell him where Mok Dan was, but he shut his mouth closely. Shonji tortured him in the tortured box. The circus leader was bleeding badly and still refused to tell him about Mok Dan’s whereabout. But with the fact that Shonji later on released the circus leader and said nicely, “thank you for our cooperation,” I think he did get the information about Mok Dan.

Kang To overheard this and rushed to Dam Sari in his jail. Kang To begged Dam Sari to tell him Mok Dan’s whereabout. “I don’t understand why you care for my daughter?” said Dam Sari.

Shonji overheard the conversation. To made Dam Sari trust him, Kang To  used Mok Dan’s childhood name “Poo Ni.” Shonji remembered Mok Dan’s letter to Gaksital. She signed the letter with her other name, “Poo Ni.”

I hate it that KAng To is too expressive and even nervous. He, above every one, should be the most expressionless and coldest person if he wanted to  keep his double lives survived. Shonji surely catch him here, in this Mok Dan’s case. But he could expose his childhood relation with Mok Dan to Shonji, then Gaksital identity might at least survive.
