Joo Jin Mo Joins Ha Ji Won for “Hwatu” (화투)

What a great news comes from MBC’s up-coming historical drama project “Hwatu” (화투). Few weeks ago Ha Ji Won agreed to joins  this drama as the main character, Empress Ki. Finally the male lead actor is revealed today as Joo Jin Mo has been confirmed to become the Goryeo’s 28th king, Chunghye (King Gongmin).

King Chunghye is described as the intelligent and brave leader. He was not afraid of meddling up with Yuan dynasty who threatened the borders of Goryeo kingdom. Besides that, he was also involved in love triangle with Empress Ki and her husband, Emperor Soon Jae…yeah..of course they need romance here.

After four years hiatus from small screen, I think Joo Jin Mo is the right actor for portraying the King of Goryeo dynasty (you maybe considering his role on “Frozen Flower”) and also for Ha Ji Won’s man. Now we are longing for another leading male, the actor who will portray emperor Soon Jae. Wondering who is he gonna be…???
This sageuk will be produced for 50 episodes and will start airing this October for replacing “Jung Yi, Goddess of Fire”.
