The King 2 Hearts Episode 7 Quick Summary

The King 2 Hearts was playing two episodes in a row tonight (April 12) because of yesterday’s Korean parliament’s general election. And this made my heart and mind were about to blow up! These two episodes are very awesome, in the content, rhythm, conflicts, the fast-twisting emotions and all characters’ are pushed to their limit. I had my reason saying what I said about the 1st four episodes, because I expected something like these two episodes. These are what I call the brilliant way of writing a story.

Let’s start our quick summary.

The King 2 Hearts episode 7

What happened after Jae Ha and HAng Ah caught red handed making out by Hang Ah’s father and The King?  Mr. Kim came in to talk to Jae Ha, while The King came to Hang Ah. Each in separate rooms.  The King, in his sincerely gratitude expression, said to Hang Ah, “Do you like my brother? Thank you very much. And I apologize.” The King kind of knew his little brother very well that Jae Ha might not treat Hang Ah in the best way. Then The King said being part of the royal family wouldn’t be an easy-and-all-good experience for Hang Ah, but he hoped she could make it. “If the engagement proceed, you’ll face hard times. Will it be okay for you?” In a very humble way Hang Ah asked if accepting her is fine. The King said it’s fine.

While The King was in a very warm approach to Hang Ah, Mr.Kim was in the opposite condition. He was curious if Jae Ha really liked his daughter or just to play with her heart. Jae Ha stupidly started his words with “I drank a lot…” And that made Mr. Kim started to get upset and anxious. He asked him the last time, “Do you like or dislike my daughter?” Jae Ha couldn’t answer. Mr.Kim was about to leave and would be bringing Hang Ah along with him right away, but Jae Ha ended up catching Mr.Kim’s knee to stop him.

Then the news engagement between Prince JAe Ha and Hang Ah was spread all over the country. But the South news had so many negative responses.

In the ordinary family, it was the groom who made the formal bow to his future father in-law. But here Hang Ah’s father came in to meet Lee Jae Ha and suddenly made a formal bow. Startled, Jae Ha gave a sign to Shi Kyeong to dismiss the guards.

Hang Ah’s father began his words by addressing Jae Ha with “Your Highness.” Hang Ah’s father cried, speaking about how he had raised Hang Ah and how she had become what she’s now and what she meant for him. Then he made the second deep bow. It’s like showing between the deep gratitude for accepting his daughter as well as a favor to take care of his daughter very well.

Hang Ah, could only watched her father leaving from the window, receiving a text from his father. “From now on, you’re the South person.” Hang Ah kept saying “I’m sorry father” crying while watching her father left.

It’s the first time Hang Ah had dinner with the whole royal family. Hmm, I don’t really like his green dress and her earrings were a bit too much? Anyway, the dinner was a bit awkward with The Queen Mother was still trying so hard to accept Hang Ah as part of the family. Thankfully the friendly King and the bright character of Jae Ha could break the awkwardness. However, they just realized that even though the North and South speak the same language, there were so many way of speaking and terms that are very different that they kept misunderstanding with each other.

Hang Ah’s first royal training was “accounting”. She met the royal money consultant. She looked so innocent hearing about the large sum of money a royal family member had in their bank account. And it was her first time seeing a cheque! Then she’s getting a lesson about South Korean currency. After the “accounting” lesson, Hang Ah received a lesson about South Korean way of speaking from The Queen Mother. Hang Ah always looked nervous around her future mother in-law, while The Queen Mother always looked tense around Hang Ah.

Meanwhile the Princess was having fun with the buddies. She seemed to get tired of the strict rule of Royal family and that the guards were very obedient to the rule. Jae Shin went out running and Shi Kyeong outran her. They arrived at Seoul’s northern’s fortress. The Princess made him sat on the fortress together with her. Man, Shi Kyeong cared too much for his cleanliness over the Princess’ that he had his suit to sit on, to protect his neat pants. Then they saw a shooting star and Jae Shin told him to start making a wish.

Shi Kyeong then let out his frustration about the Princess and her passion on singing. Jae Shin apologized and asked if he wanted to hear her sing. What Jae Shin meant wasn’t singing performance on the stage, but right there at that moment in front of him. Jae Shin started to sing and Shi Kyeong looked so nervous, but stole some stares to his Princess whenever she’s not looking.

Mr.Eun was meeting with a western man for agreement signing for that man’s donation for a Korean culture activities. Hearing the King was going on a vacation, he asked where the King was going, but Mr. Eun said it’s confidential.  But that man insisted, saying that he just wanted to have a reference for his vacation in Korea. Mr. Eun didn’t tell him anything.

However, later on he received a very expensive the Beatles album on his desk from a man named David. Mr.Eun made a phone call saying he couldn’t accept it, but Mr. David insisted. He made himself sounded offended that Mr.Eun didn’t want to accept it. So finally Mr. Eun accepted it. And as a way to be polite, Mr.Eun finally told David that the best place for his vacation should be Anmyeongdo.

Then in another part of the world, in John’s room, suddenly he was speaking to his girl friend that Anmyeongdo was a beautiful place.

The internet people started spreading their words about this North girl the Prince would be marrying. The Queen  Mother summoned Hang Ah and asked her to start adjusting herself with Southern life in all aspects, including the way of speaking. It felt very uncomfortable that people kept calling her The North Girl and even Hang Ah kept addressing South Korea as Nam Joseon. “Not Nam Joseon,” said the Queen Mother, “but Nam Han, Dae Han Min Guk.” Hang Ah was given a chance to speak out her mind, but the Queen Mother tried her best to teach her about how it was to be in and a South. Jae Ha came in and asked what happened. He said not to push Hang Ah too much, but  the Queen Mother said “I’m tired, too.”

Jae Ha asked to meet Hang Ah, but the guards said he couldn’t meet her. Then Jae Ha got a phone call from his sister who was shopping some groceries in the traditional market. She invited Jae Ha to come along to the cottage where the king and the queen went for vacation because she’s going to cook. Jae Ha wasn’t coming. Then Jae Shin informed Shi Kyeong that she’d be coming down by 7 pm.

The gate where the King was on vacation got a visit from a car of 3 foreigners. Oh no! John’s girlfriend was on the back seat. They’re stealing the guard’s finger print to get in. The King was enjoying the moment with the Queen by the lake when John’s men were sealing the windows and put something in the fireplace. Then suddenly The Princess came with her groceries, finding no one inside the cottage. But as soon as she went out to the terrace, she found these creepy western people. When The King and The Queen came, they only found Jae Shin’s groceries. Shi Kyeong was checking his watch, it was 7.12 and no call from the Princess yet.

Hang Ah came tired with the red traditional bridal hanbok. Jae Ha was waiting in her room. She was so tired after the lesson. They ended up arguing and Jae Ha was apologizing, but she was too upset by his words. Jae Ha decided to leave as usual and always hesitated to come back again to mend his mistake.

In her room Hang Ah made a phone call to his father, telling that her father to come down picked her up because it was too tiring and Jae Ha made her tired too. But actually Hang Ah never spoke to her father because her father’s phone couldn’t be reached that time. And as soon as she hung up the phone, the King called her. He asked how she had been doing and worried that Jae Ha would make her suffer, but he kind of cheer her up. Hang Ah was touched and forgot her upset right away.

Then the King called Jae Ha who was on the way to attend an event. He said he liked both Jae Ha and Hang Ah and said some old-brotherly-sayings that made the spoil Jae Ha thought it was all too much that he turned off the phone.

The King was enjoying his time with his wife, drinking wine and laid on his wife’s lap. His talking about Jae Ha’s engagement, the dream of North and South reunification, and also about his own little family.

The King was a pure human in this situation, showing that even the King needed a break. The Queen slept on his shoulder first, then the King slowly closed his eyes, too. It seemed that they’re inhaling something from the burning in the fireplace. Aaahhh, it’s John’s people evil doing! I have a very bad feeling :(

Meanwhile Princess Jae Shim was caught as a hostage somewhere near the cliff. John’s people was going to make it like a car accident for her. The creepy girl told Jae Shin to take some drug to let her feel nothing when the car jumped off the cliff. But to anyone surprise, it happened so quick that Princess Lee Jae Shin decided to jump off the cliff herself. She landed hard on the ground down there. Noooo! X| Just by the time, Shi Kyeong was going out on a patrol, looking for the Princess. And there he found the Princess’s body, unconcious and no bleeding out.

In the cottage, a royal court was going to inform the King about what happened to Princess Jae Shin, but strangely there’s no response. From the window, they saw something strange with the King’s position. The wine glass was broken on the floor, right under the King who looked in a deep sleep as well as the Queen.

Prince Jae Ha was attending a ceremony when suddenly Mr.Eun came in with a troop of royal guards. He informed Jae Ha about what happend to his brother and sister. Mr. Eun and the royal guards knelt and started addressing Lee Jae Ha as “Our King”, then the rest of the people in the event had to kneel too.

Mr. Eun gave a briefing to Jae Ha on the wheel, on their way to the hospital. But it  all came to sudden that it was very overwhelming for Jae Ha to accept the fact that his beloved brother had died and his beloved younger sister was still in an uncertain condition undergoing a surgery, let alone he suddenly become the Ruler of a nation. Jae Ha asked to stop the car. He needed time to adjust everything. His hands were trembling. It all happened to his family in a sudden. Then he put himself together up again and tried to be strong.

The Queen Mother was already in black, waiting in the hospital. Princess Jae Shin survived but she had to give up walking. She’s going to be paralyzed from hip down.

Jae Ha tried to be strong meeting his mother in the hospital. The nation was left with them two, the new young King and his poor mother. The Queen Mother embraced his son, saying that together they’ll retain the country and the mother would help him as the new King.

Oh my God, this is going to be sad. There’s gonna be lots of tears in the next episode…  T_T
